If you're "in the zone", like JJ Watt often is, then you're probably in Bellaire (Chinatown) and you're probably drinking a bizarre-but-good Artichoke Bubble Tea. That's what Boba Zone is famous for, and if you like weird sh**, or Artichokes, or preferably both, then this is the drink for you. What to get: Artichoke Drink, Milk Tea, Smoothies. What else: Sorry what did you ask? I zoned out. If you hate your drink so much that you toss it against the wall, the place is renamed Boba Thrown. So what is the artichoke drink? I don't freaking know. It's a not-too-sweet Green Tea with Bubbles, that has a bunch of chunks of artichoke and other weird stuff in there. It sounds f***ing gross but it's actually pretty good. Very good, if you like that sort of drink. It definitely doesn't taste of veggies, but then, neither does your mother. If you have no friends, and come here by yourself, then it's Boba Lone. Personally, I'm more of a milk tea person, and their milk tea is excellent. It's not quite on the level of ShareTea (if I could turn back time, I'd go to CherTea) which is a mile West, nor Tapioca Place or Teahouse, but it's definitely in the top 10 places of its kind in town. If you send a flying machine here to pick up your order in your stead, then it's a Boba Drone. Also it differentiates itself from the competition with absolutely lovely, wonderful service. A few of the people working here are less friendly, but others are so nice that it makes me want to pee myself. I mean, I want to anyway, always, regardless, but particularly when faced with how lovely some of the servers are. If you meet Ms Crawford, Rivers, Wilder, Armatrading, or Mitchell here, then it's Boba Joan. The guy that served us the first time (of many) we came here, is such a gem. He's so ridiculously nice, and friendly, that I almost want to say he's my friend, but then I realize that I don't know his name, have only met him 3 times, and admitting I consider him a friend would expose me to all kinds of accusations of not having real friends, which I don't. And if you call ahead, then they change their name to Boba Phone. Another unique thing about this place is it used to be a Starbucks, so it has a drive thru! And they will give you Bubble Tea at their Drive Thru window! Pretty awesome! But Artichoke in a Bubble Tea must be the most unique thing of all. What's next? Boba Provolone? One obvious drawback is a maddening lack of parking for this whole plaza, and the fact that often, on any given evening, every single table inside is taken, and people are not generous about sharing chairs and such. They often have long lines, but they move fairly fast. I was going to come up with meanings for Boba Bone and Boba Blown, but it's a PG-13 website. read more

Stopping by yesterday and today also, same order Rose Milk Tea w 30% sugar and they gave me a drink extremely sweet. I brought it inside and asked if they could fix but the guy who took my order standing there arguing with me that he did confirm that I didn't say anything about less sugar. What should I do now? I only went through drive thru so my review is pretty much on taste of drinks. Ordered the watermelon juice and it legit tasted as though someone cracked and squeezed a sweet watermelon into my cup! So yummy I also ordered the artichoke royale I think it's called. Now this drink was not for me bc the name just threw me off. I love love Long Coffee's Royal Artichoke drink!! I was in Houston for just a weekend and visited Long Coffee four times to get the Royal Artichoke drink. The Artichoke drink is a light drink that comes with a lot of toppings like jelly, chia seed, grass jelly and rainbow jelly. It sounds like a lot but when it's all Combined it's really delicious. I would highly recommend this drink and best of all? It's less than 4$!! Such a steal! I can't wait to come back and get more of this drink. :) read more

Even though Houston wasn't short of boba places, the tapioca was soo good AND they're reasonably priced. They have an extensive menu of smoothies, tea, coffee, banh mi and fruit cups. For the drinks, they had had a wide assortment of toppings but my new favorite topping is mini boba. Something about the miniature size made it a better experience. I liked that you could customize the level of sweetness but just as a warning, they only have one size. We went once at night and once during the day and both times they were packed. I think the location used to be a Starbucks because they also have a drive through! Solid choice for a cold drink. They've got a drive thru and while I haven't quite figured out the mechanics, it seems to work well. We managed to find some parking and hovered around people until we got a table inside. The line seems perpetually long but it moves fast. They have a ton of options, but it looked like just about half the people were getting the royal artichoke. That'll be next on my list of things to try. I opted for a slush with less sugar and it was just right. They do have wifi here and it's a good spot to meet up with people. Haven't used it myself but the drive through seems convenient. The punch cards here are more useful than most especially if you buy drinks on double punch days, they go by quick! The Vietnamese coffee here is one of my favorite drinks. Sweet and strong. I also enjoy the strawberry milk that has fresh strawberry pieces in it. The popcorn chicken here is good as well! Good stuff! Strong and flavorful. I like that there's a drive thru for convenience, but sometimes they make you pull up and wait till your drink is ready so unless it's cold, going in may be quicker. I ordered the royal milk tea without any ice. Flavor was good, but they charge an extra dollar to top it off. That's the first time I've been to an establishment that does that. A good go-to bubble tea place if you want to hang out with friends. It's nothing to rave about but I do have to give it a high rating since I sometimes find myself here. I usually get flavored iced green tea with rainbow jelly or popping boba but there are other places with better bubble tea. I don't like tapioca so I don't know what it's like here, but the boyfriend doesn't seem to mind it. However, this is the only place I know of that has popping boba which I like. I always enjoy coming here for milk tea when I'm in the area. The only thing that sucks is the chinatown traffic in that corner, but let's be honest, that's to be expected. My favorite is getting the avocado smoothie because it's so smooth and creamy and refreshing. (I also add the mixed fruit jelly with it). The milk tea is pretty standard too, but what I really enjoy is that they let you choose how much sugar you can put in it. However, if you don't like your drinks too sweet, I would say no sugar because I asked for half the sugar, and I think it's still ridiculously sweet. The wait is kind of long, depending on what time and how crowded the place is. I think that they could speed it up, if I'm being honest. Other places have less workers and can make the drinks faster. Service: the workers are nice enough, and the cool thing is that they do have the sticker things to make sure they have your drink right. They also have a drive through which is pretty cool, but I personally haven't used it yet. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is pretty chill, you can actually study there if you wanted. Most people go just to hang out though because there are tables available and while it may not be a lot of space, there's enough people coming in and out that tables will free up. There's a good amount of parking because there's a whole shopping strip there, but you may have to walk a bit in the Houston heat if you're not lucky enough to get a close parking spot. Overall, great place to get drinks, but don't go if you're in a rush. I probably wouldn't get the food because it does take forever to make, and it's very mediocre. I wouldn't waste my money on it. This is my go-to boba shop whenever I'm in town! I absolutely love their smoothies because they're thick and blended to perfection. Their boba is usually really good too - sweet, chewy consistency. The prices are reasonable. Avocado durian blended, taro coconut, cafe sua da blended, and volcano blast are my favorites so far, but you seriously can't go wrong with any flavor. The Royal artichoke is also really good if you want something refreshing with fruits and jellies of different textures. I love that they have a drive thru as well. One time, I had accidentally dropped the drink in my car and the cup busted and spilled out. I brought it in to the shop and the manager let me have a new drink.
