I have been a loyal customer of Long Coffee in the past few years. But I think the way they make drinks is going downhill recently. I always get Thai green tea because I love its sea foam, however there is less and less sea cream they put on the top, which makes the drink a bit bitter. The amount of ice also much more than it used to be (more than half of the cup). So remember to tell them LIGHT ICE for your drinks. Hopefully these issues would be solved soon. read more

First time going to their drive through. The guy on the intercom has a thick accent and he couldn't get our order exactly right so we pulled to the front window. The girl greeted us but also has a thick accent and we had to repeat our orders several times. We both order hot honey milk tea as the signs say they can make milk tea hot. They said they couldn't because it's powder. Which doesn't make any sense.....the girl said they can only make a few certain drinks hot. So we both opt for their short selective list hot options and my bf wanted boba in his and they said they couldn't do that either and don't recommend it and ask if we wanted boba on the side. At this point I was a bit annoyed and said I had boba in hot milk tea before just add it....after taking our order they said to pull to the front. We parked our car and waited about 10-15 mins and notice there was barely any customers inside so we know it isn't busy. It does not take long to make my basic milk tea! Been coming here for quite some time now. They have their good days, and they have their bad, but for the most part they are consistent with their drinks. If there are any discrepancies pertaining to quality or errors of the drinks, they are more than happy to change it out. Love how they have a system of their own, the drive thru is convenient. However, I wish they could remodel the drive thru due to the crammed up parking lot, and not to mention bellaire's stupid drivers. Regardless, this is my favorite and top places for boba drinks! I legitimately have come here for years, but my last experience with them has set my sights off of them (for either a really long time or) for good. I'm Asian, I practically live and breathe Chinatown, and used to love Long Coffee. With time, I feel like this place has kind of run it's course. This isn't a fine dining or beverage establishment, so sure, I don't expect you to greet me when I enter the door or ask me how I'm doing. I'm just a transaction to you. But the one thing you should never do is NOT give the customer the benefit of the doubt. I have ordered the Strawberry Snow with boba so many times over I could probably wring my body out and it would be just that. But again, over time, the consistency and quality of the beverages have fallen. I order my drink via the drive thru and they're very clearly backed up on drinks. When I make it up to the window, they tell me to pull forward and that they'll walk my drink out to me. But get this. Bellaire. On a weekend nonetheless. In what world is there parking available with these two components? I inch forward and notice that there is two or so designated spots for "drive thru pick up" which I'm assuming is meant for customers like me who get pulled forward....except, they're not available and are blocked off by multiple orange traffic cones. So???? What is the point of having those spots? One of the guys walks out with my drink, I thank him, and drive off. Mind you, I start drinking it immediately. With a little smack of the tongue here and there, I begin to notice a different flavor profile that I am not generally accustomed to. What could it be? I pull the cup up and take a look. What I see is vile separation, weird "fruit flavoring particles" floating, and a very translucent liquid that is holding up the rest of the drink. I call and ask if my drink can be remade and they tell me to take a picture of it and to bring it the next day. And so I did. I show the cashier what I experienced and she rudely asks me "Did you drink it right away? Maybe it melted!" First of all, (as you can see in the picture, the drink is nearly full) no drink melts that quickly. I had it no more than three minutes in my hand before the liquid formed. And secondly, what was I supposed to do? Finish the drink at the speed of light or with my eyes closed so that I didn't see that monstrosity? I ask her what it is, but she refuses to tell me the ingredients. Sure, fair trick of the trade or whatever. Just get my drink remade...Nope. Let her call up her supervisors and managers first to get it approved. I am not one to be frugal and it shouldn't have to feel embarrassing to get the correct product that you PAID for, but this lady made me out to be a villain and it was sort of mortifying. I've given this place business time and time again, and I'll be damned if I ever step foot in this place again. With the attitude and downright nasty looks that I received, I should have just turned my back on them. I didn't realize a $4 drink was that much of a hassle. At Starbucks, if you need a drink remade, they don't even bat an eye. They just ask you what's wrong with your drink and how they can fix it, nothing barred. This place could learn a thing or two about etiquette, but I won't be frequenting it anymore, so I guess it doesn't matter. See ya later Long Coffee. I've made my peace with this place. read more

One of my favorite boba spots in Houston. What I get: I'm a sl*t for milk tea, however this spot kills their smoothies. I usually choose between the Avocado smoothie w/ boba or Durian smoothie w/ mixed jelly. Their avocado smoothie doesn't have that "fatty-bouncy-airy" consistency, instead it's very smooth and semi-thick. As for durian; I'm not sure if they use fresh durian or an extract but it hits the spot for sure. Atmosphere: This place used to be a Starbucks - wide yet shallow establishment with limited seating. I absolutely adore Boba Zone and definitely my go to if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to get out of the car. They're one of the few boba places that actually has a drive thru. Parking and that area in general is a pain in the ass but I think it's worth it and they actually work pretty fast so you're not waiting too long. You know what's a better idea than boba? A BOBA DRIVE-THRU... Genius! When my cousin drove up to the lighted menu, I was practically bouncing up and down with excitement. It's such a simple idea, but I'm so surprised no one in California has thought of it (at least none that I know of). The menu is large and variable with a lot of options to make any boba drinker happy. My cousin recommended the Thai Green Tea since I told him I like Thai tea and green tea so what could be better than a baby from a marriage of both? The top quarter of the cup had a foam like consistency while the rest of the cup was a pale green. So excited to try it, I popped the lid and tasted the most interesting flavor I have ever tried in my life. It wasn't Thai Tea. It wasn't green tea. It was just...different. But my goodness, I loved it. I could not put the drink down. After every sip, I was trying to pinpoint what I was having and just when I thought I knew, I would take another sip and consider something else. Mind-blowing! Long coffee does iced mochas and iced caramel lattes right. No burnt taste and you can straight up taste the caramel and mocha. I know I wouldn't be able to find a mocha or a caramel latte like long coffee's in DFW. Sad face. We came every morning that we were in Houston. The first time we came i wanted the Cafe Sua Da. The guy told me I wouldn't like it cuz it's bitter. How do you know I won't like it..ugh. Definitely what you would expect from a boba shop! Nothing fancy and no gimmicks about this place.. except... they have a drive through! Yes, drive through to pick up your favorite drink! Bubble tea, fruit smoothie, coffee, Banh mi?! You name it! They have the durien stuff as well, if you want to venture that route. I personally love the flavor of durien but I opted for an avocado smoothie that was just enough sweet (not overly sweet), very creamy and smooth and delicious! You can also choose your sweetness level here from 1-4.. 2 being regular sweetness and 1 being extra sweet and going lower the other direction. There's lots of space to sit here, though not quiet cause it's always busy.. and there's also outdoor seating. So my advice here is..... go on tuesdays and order 5 drinks. I hate going to places and ordering a drink and they stuff the cup with ice and 2 drops of liquid. I would describe this place best as the Asian Starbucks. When you get here you are usually met with a packed drive thru, tables outside, and a very tight area inside filled to the brim with people. I honestly never had any issue with LC before until last weekend when a group of my friends went in to play some card games. We had a few beard papa treats that we brought in also. The cashier answered "Yes". I proceed to order the Nuoc Sam with Dried Longans. I'm not sure if he's still in training, but he can honestly go back to his manager and ask. It's not a big deal for me. After getting my drink, the drink was too bitter for me. I asked my boyfriend to exchange with the Royal Artichoke. After 2 minutes, he came back with $4.00 and some change. I asked him what's wrong? Where's the drink? He said they don't exchange and the manager gave him the cash and literally told him to "Go buy it somewhere else!". Long story short, we were furious mainly because of the tone and the way the manager used his words. He could easily said "It is the cashier mistake that we do not exchange drinks. This place has gone down hill. Messed up drive thru lines and the staff routinely forget to bring out your drinks. Even if you order only 1-2. Often you will have to go in with a receipt. It's the only game in town for drive thru. It at the waste of time you spend and often unkept vegetation around their building; you're more likely to have your clear coat scratched. They are a bit pricey, but I love the convenience of the drive-thru despite the lengthy wait. I especially like their milk tea slush and they are willing to go off menu. The one thing I can't stand is their punch cards. Like one time I had 2 cards, one for Dec 2017 and one for July 2017, each with 2 punches. When I purchased a drink, I asked if they could combine them. She said sure, then handed me a punch card for June 2017 with 2 punches. So not only did I lose my punches, get no credit for that purchase, but I also lost time to complete the punches.
