Bad customer service! We had ordered two royal artichoke with half sugar. The guy said that we had ordered three, not true! He had the drinks ready but didn't give it to us. He closed the screen and took about five minutes, then finally gave us our drinks. One cup had lots of "toppings" while the other cups had a few and boy was it watered down! Stopped by and got a Thai tea to sip on. It was around $3.50 which compared to the prices I normally pay is a STEAL. It was delicious and had a strong Thai flavor as opposed to the sometimes milky flavor you get with watered down Thai tea. Very busy on the inside and rightfully popular for a reason! I always go to boba zone because it's a go-to spot for my friends. Great to go on weekdays, not so great on weekends. I like their drinks but the wait is horrible. I ordered two drinks, they made one of them, and the other was to be seen. I reminded them twice, I ended up waiting 30 minutes. Docked one star for the wait and another for having to remind them twice. But definitely a great place to go after work or after school on a weekday. Update: came back when it wasn't very busy. Stopped here for some bubble tea and decided to try the spicy mango. Overall, pretty good. It had the right mixture of sweet, spicy, sour and salty. Each flavor balanced the other one perfectly! The inside was SUPER packed and they were slammed with orders even in their drive thru. The workers move quickly and we were in and out in about 10 minutes or less. Prices are pretty reasonable and there's lots of variety for drinks! You can choose sweetness level and toppings. My mom tried the taro coconut smoothie and said it was just meh nothing special. They don't use real taro like most places so the place we favor that does use real taro takes the cake. I used to love this place couple years ago, but this year I felt like they have gone downhill a bit. Either they have so many good competitors or the drinks aren't taste good anymore. Recently, I ordered all of my favorite drinks (blended cappuccino, jasmine milk tea, iced ginger milk tea, royal milk tea..) but none of them tasted as good as before. Update: just ordered the new drink: frozen Coconut Mocha with tapioca, it was bad. It tasted diluted, lack of flavor of mocha, ice wasn't blended all the way, and boba tasted old. I had to throw away half of the remaining cup, which costed me $4.76, whipped cream is $0.50 more. I think Starbucks is overpriced but compare to this drink and its cost, I choose Starbucks, more mocha-y and free delicious whipped cream. read more

My husband and I have probably tried 100 different boba tea places in the last 4 years and haven't experienced customer service like this before. A very kind woman helped us out since it was our first time at this famous joint. She recommended a few tea options for me out of which I chose the jasmine green milk tea half sweet. I've never been more satisfied by a cup of green milk tea! Perfectly sweet, perfectly cold, and the perfect amount of tea strength and flavor. My husband got a regular cafe sua da and he would rate his coffee the second best coffee he's ever had after The Beps coffee. We don't like to add boba to our drinks but since this place impressed us so much we will definitely be back to try some of the more adventurous offerings next time. This is my go to spot down Bellaire. I used to stay 5 mins away from here. Whenever I go get my haircut in the same lot, I always stop here. The only thing I've tried is their strawberry smoothies with regular boba. I don't really care for the small boba. From the taste of the one I get, I'm sure all their smoothies are a hit though. Sometimes it takes a long time to get your drinks when they make you drive up cuz they have to find your car and there will be other cars waiting too so that's annoying. I used to go here a lot, even when they were at their original location. Some things have changed since then. Pros: - Every drink I've tried here and even the foods that I've ordered have been fresh and very original tasting. - Although it may get busy during certain times, Boba Zone makes their orders relatively quickly. - I would definitely recommend going here and ask for a stamp card so that you could earn a free drink after ten orders! - They've added some new things since moving to their location in front of the Kim Son Plaza such as Vietnamese Sandwiches, and digital upgrades to their menu. Cons: - Their service which I once thought was second to none, is now very average. - Their drive through can take longer than standing inside for just a drink order because the food orders take much longer to make and get sent out - The peak times can be really hectic and the seating is very limited especially when people hoard tables and chairs. Why four stars ****? Because Boba Zone is no longer the best at what they do (tapioca/boba drinks and finger foods) and because there are many other locations that now offer what they offer. Love the conveniency of the drive-through. Their popcorn nuggies are pretty good and large portioned! They started to put the spices on the side which I understand, but it makes it more complicated trying to shake it all up yourself in the car. Which is why I always ask for large empty cup & lid, poor the nuggies in the cup with the lid & shake it up. Such a nice place to go to when you need a quick boba fix. This boba place provides a car drive thru that way you don't have to deal with finding a parking space or even getting out of your car. If you're ordering and need to wait for your order, designated parking spaces are saved for you in front of the store that way an employee can bring the order right to you. I came with my husband one night as we were craving some spicy popcorn chicken and smoothies. It was our first time. Even with the high traffic of customers coming in and out, it was easy to find parking. We ordered the spicy popcorn chicken in medium even tho we LOVE extra spicy. Medium wasn't as spicy as I thought so next time we're gonna order super spicy lol. Also, the nuggets were HUGE and you get plenty of it. We also ordered the mango peach splash smoothie and it was . It was delicious and great balance of both flavors. We also sat outside during a nice evening so it made it even more refreshing! My sister told me about their Royal Artichoke so I decided to give it a try while in the Houston area. When you come here however, expect some or a long wait time because this place always seems to be packed. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 5:30 pm and had to wait about 5-7 minutes just to place my order. This place also has a drive-thru window which is why ordering times can take so long. They also sell a variety of snacks and small meals (fried chicken nuggets, fried tofu, etc), which we plan to try next time we come. For seating, there are plenty of tables if you come before peak times. We were lucky to score a table, but about 30 minutes after we arrived, all of the tables were full both inside and outside. The place is great for catching up with friends and playing board games, and has adequate lighting for studying as well. As for our drink, the Royal Artichoke was ready about 5 minutes after we ordered. This drink came with an assortment of jellies and longan, and tasted very refreshing. It was quite unique as we both have never tasted anything like it at other bubble tea places and cafes. We did wish that it was slightly sweeter but other than that we'll definitely be stopping by again in the future for more. read more

Best tapioca joint in Houston. Look no further, this place has the best drinks in town. Staff is very knowledgeable about all the drinks and very friendly. I reccomend the frozen cookies and cream, the frozen mocha coffee and also coconut milk tea. Other drinks are amazing also. The line can be daunting but moves super fast. They have new hours and they open as early as 7 am! Tables are very small but is still a great hangout spot for friends and family. Highly recommend this place over others. I didn't know what to get, but I needed some coffee, so I think I got their Cafe Sua Da, that was like their upgrade version and I got the mini tapioca. My favorite thing here is their fruit tea, especially when it's full to the brim with fruit and pearls.
