My last review was not the fault of the restaurant. It was unfair to give the restaurant a bad review based on the technical glitch. I have always loved LJS's food and so does my grandchildren and they are my barometer for any kind of food. That being said, I will always support this restaurant because of the people there and of course the food helps. The food was great, service was terrible. My girlfriend and I came by to eat, nobody was at the counter, which i understand, rang the bell and we were met with a worker, who maybe was the manager? Could not tell, she was an older lady with blond longer hair. She greeted us with a not so pleasant look. I had personally gotten confused about the meal types and did not understand the board, as well as we thought there was mac and cheese, due to it being posted on the board. She had pointed to the screens and seemed to be disrespectful about my mess up and rudely explained to my girlfriend in a loud and annoyed tone that they had not been selling mac and cheese any longer.. Not good customer service in my opinion. We sat at our table and the seats were sticky. We tested a couple different booths and all of the leather-like seats were the same to varying degrees. After finding the cleanest one we could, we waited for about 7-8 minutes although our food was fresh, so no complaints there. The second interaction was shorter yet much more pleasant with a different employee. He was great and even told us to enjoy. The worker at the counter really downgraded the experience. You would expect to walk into a friendly environment. The 30 minute drive just for your guys' food was not worth the disrespectful experience. read more

Big mistake .. haven't been to " long John silver" in 4 + years. Got a hair last time I was there .. Saw a commercial yesterday for their chicken strip meal .. I ask my wife today ... would u like a fish meal ???she likes an oil change every once in a while !! Went there ... and tried to order at the drive thru .. I ordered 3 fish meals and one chicken strip meal .. the chicken was for my boys and girls .. It's dark outside ... not one outside building lite was on at the long John's .. I thought they were closed !! At the drive thru ..I placed the order.. I repeated it three times and finally I was told to cum to window to place the order .. because they couldn't hear ???!?? I Placed my order face to face .. What did I get .??? Three pieces of fish and two pieces of chicken .. When the order was handed out the window... I questioned the order in the bag .. to verify .. When I got home and opened the order... it was 3 pcs of fish and 2 chicken strips .. plus a few fries .. that's it .. For over $31 .... my wife called to complain .... And the manager said the order was correct .. Three fish dinners = 3 pcs of fish ..... one pcs for each meal ordered .... a chicken strip meal is 2 strips of "tuff" chicken .. per a meal ordered ... On top of that ...my wife got a hair breaded into her piece of fish ... No extra charge ..... How do these rip off joints stay in business. ?? They don't .... I'll never be back !!! Last chance .... The only thing that stopped me from giving 4 stars is that the fish pieces are somewhat greasy. We wrap them in a napkin to get some of it off. I like the clam strips and the fries are crispy. StAff is friendly and the service is fast. It's not Red Lobster but neither are the prices. read more

Long John Silver's - Seafood Near Me - La Porte, Indiana

I've only eaten here twice. The first time was horrible, the intercom was broken so I drove around to the window to be greeted by a very disgruntled employee bad mouthing his own work place. There I waited 20 minutes for my order. The food was mediocre at best. The second time I reluctantly ate there was only because they had $1 (supposedly) Baja fish tacos. Minus the fact they use Cole slow as the topping, surprisingly the fish portion was quite large and this is the only reason I'd give it two stars. Next time I eat here the sun will rise in the West and shortly after the earth will stop rotating. read more

My husband and I went here 7/10/15. We went inside and placed our order. Husband then went to use the bathroom. Male employee came out, bathroom stunk. He said he noticed there wasn't any fresh water splashes, he realized the employee didn't wash his hands. When that same employee brought us our food he had his thumbs on the inside of our food baskets. With that image in my husband's head he refused to eat his food,said it ruined his appetite. He'd of said something to the manager but thought the guy who didn't wash his hands was the manager. We will never eat there again. Very unsanitary for someone messing with people's food. read more

Finally a place that is quick and tasty. For some reason LJS always tastes better at lunch. Everything is hot, and I love the cole slaw, I skip the fries and do double slaw. The staff is friendly and they bring the food right to your table, very helpful when I was on crutches. You would be surprised how many other places expected me to carry a tray. I take advantage of the dine in specials a lot, save that coin. Fast, friendly, yummy, what's not to like. read more

I hate to leave a negative review. We have gone twice time in the past year. The food was pretty good itself. Not something you can eat much because of how greasy it is, but hey it's deep fried what do you expect. Both times I got the family pack for my wife and kids. My grievance is not with the food, but with the staff. The first time I went was alright. The second time was quite surprising. This is a true story. The guy at the drive through window gave a big sigh when I can up and rolled his eyes. I made a comment on the bad weather assuming that's what was upsetting him. He said it wasn't the weather that upset him but the fact that every time he wanted to grab a cigarette he heard a ding over his headset and couldn't smoke. I apologized for inconveniencing him (hoping he would take my hint) he then continued to complain about customers told me about how cranky he was. He then asked me what sauce I wanted. As I don't frequent LGS I asked for his recommendation. He rolled his eyes again and informed me he had 13 sauces so I would just have to pick one. I just told him tartar sauce knowing they must have that. I'm not sure what the options are. When I left I felt bad for going and being an inconvenience. When I got home my wife told me to call and complain to the manager. I called and no one picked up. I just dropped it and enjoyed the night with my family read more
