Writing a a revised review, after some years of going there pre-covid. This place is still amazing. Service is great. Food is still bomb! When I was younger, I actually never really liked hot & sour soup, but as I am older, I actually enjoy it, and theirs is really good, even not adding the egg, so it's vegan. This time, other items we had were: salt and pepper tofu & braised tofu w/ mushrooms. Yum!! Definitely, still a fave Chinese Regular/Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant.

This review is both to express how incredible the food is and a call to help this local business out! They currently do not have enough consistent staff due to budget issues to have someone to wash dishes so they only do takeout or give dine in food via takeout boxes. My family and I went to this establishment for lunch and were totally amazed by the quality and taste of their food. A true vegetarian dream restaurant with a multitude of options. The restaurant manager who was female (did not catch her name) was incredible sweet and made sure we had a lovely time. Do check this place out and support them!!

Went in for lunch, and the service was nice and prompt, and food came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed the spring roll that came with the meal but didn't particularly enjoy the food otherwise - I feel like there was a funky after taste. It was disappointing to me because the vegetarian menu looked great and good vegetarian Chinese food can be hard to find. Ambiance is lacking, and they do use to-go containers and offer paper plates for your meal.

This is a vegetarian spot that is great for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores. The restaurant is a large space and can accommodate big groups. I came in with my brother (who is vegetarian) and recommended this spot. The service was quick and friendly. The lady, whom I'm assuming is the owner, was very inviting and ready to answer any questions we had. The food did not take long to arrive at our table and the portion sizes did not disappoint. We also got some (vegan) hot & sour soup on the house. It was very tasty! We ordered the potstickers, salt & pepper tofu, eggplant tofu and kung pao chkn. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to visit again to try something new!

They were in January

What kind of oils are used for stir frying and deep frying?

You can bet it's cheap refined oil (taste it)

Is the food oily? Are there any steamed items?

Not super oily and but I don't recall about steamed - it'd think yes

Great tapas and solid service. There's decent street parking around the area even on a Saturday…read morearound 1:30pm, and they've got TVs inside showing the World Cup. Water was refilled promptly, food came out fairly quickly, and staff were around whenever we needed more drinks or food. The tapas were great with a few standouts: pulpo, croquetas, bimi (broccolini), calamares, and patatas bravas. All had rich flavors and paired well with the provided sauces. We also got three paellas (valenciana, tres cerditos, and paella mixta). They were good but not my favorite. Texture was on the softer side and I prefer mine crispier. Good variety of proteins across the three though, so worth ordering a mix. Sweets were good but not amazing. I'd probably just get the cinnamon roll next time. I prefer churros with a crispy exterior and soft center, these were crispy pretty much all the way through, not really my style. Brunch menu looks worth a try with some creative options. Wouldn't mind coming back, though it's not a must since I'm about 40 minutes away. Tapas were the highlight, paella and desserts kept it from 5.

I recommend sharing this with 4 people and getting tapas. I'd be interested in trying a different paella next time. Croquetas de champiñones- mushroom. Really good. Came with 3 pieces. I'd get this again Patatas cargadas- tasty but meat was a bit dry. Good sized portion. I'd get this again Tocino- really crispy fatty pork belly. Yummy. I'd get this again. Calamares- perfectly cooked. I'm a sucker for squid ink and liked the aioli. Good portion. Wouldn't mind getting this again but would want to try something else Overall pretty good.

Service was attentive and helpful, the room is pretty from the outside and prettier from the inside. Very good salads, healthy, tasty, and the safron salmon with potatoes and vegetables was delicious. Hit all the notes, and left open the spaces too. Excellent cooking and serving. We both went for Creme Brulee and weren't sorry. Good wine selection, 1 glass each, and good decaf with dessert. There's a lot of competition on this end of College Ave, Marica are top-tier, on par with the now closed, and missed, "Oliveto". A place to take anyone for a very special meal.

The restaurant space is well-lit, has plenty of indoor seating and seems suitable for a date or casual get-together with friends. My partner would give the food a five-start rating for its simplicity, generally flavorful, with spicy sauces and THE BEST guacamole! He had the Korean spare ribs and mash potatoes. He found the ribs to be fall-off-the bone tender, with potatoes that were more whipped than mashed alongside a carrot puree. I, on the other hand, had the New York Steak and au gratin potatoes. Though I wanted to enjoy my entree, I found the New York Steak to be unfortunately chewy and with too much fat. The au gratin potatoes could have had more crispy layers but tasted mediocre. Though I'd only rate this first experience with three stars. the service staff DID win us over and could potentially be the reason I'd be open to giving it another try.
