There were 2 of us and we shared the "modest" size (soup + all 5 offerings), the momos, and we each got a slice of pie. The soup was very flavorful. The 5 sides were beans (SO good), salad (the dressing was fantastic), collard greens (perfectly cooked), wild rice (also perfectly cooked), and mixed veggies (delicious). The sauce that comes with the momos had this perfect spiciness! We got a slice of chocolate pie and coconut. I personally liked the coconut better (my cousin preferred the chocolate). Really lovely restaurant serving macrobiotic vegan food. Perfect for those following the whole foods/plant-based diet. Their food is fairly low in salt, which I really appreciated. They do use small amounts of oil. They are so kind and welcoming. What a great spot to get something akin to what my health-conscious family eats at home. Very welcome and comforting to encounter this kind of food while traveling. We got delivery through Doordash and the food was delicious and comforting. We might not get it often because the things we liked best weren't high protein, but it's really soothing and pleasant vegan cuisine. They called and were sweet about the apricot gem cookie they were out of, but forgot the other strawberry gem cookie they were supposed to still send. Pies: strawberry pie was decent, chocolate pie better and had a nicely silky texture and enjoyably strong chocolate flavor. The crust has a strong taste of coconut which is not my favorite but the filling doesn't seem to be based on coconut (maybe on tofu?) so I didn't mind it. Chocolate chip cookies were surprisingly tasty for having no refined sugar. We tried the Trio meal and got beans of the day (pleasantly spiced and well cooked chickpeas), vegetables of the day (cabbage, carrots, and zucchini, perfect texture, absolutely delicious), and salad. The salad in the Trio container got a little other sauce on it even though they gave us dressing on the side, maybe better to order salads separately. The trio meal comes with soup, which was a well seasoned thin bean soup that I enjoyed very much. We didn't try the rice of the day. My favorite item was the momos, dumplings with a green wrapper that taste mostly of mushroom, very pleasant and comforting. I steamed them in the microwave and they were great reheated. Not so much the fresh rolls, whose brown rice wrapper turns rather tough when refrigerated -- the fresh rolls would be a maybe next time although the avocado was delicious. All in all, enjoyable and will order again. read more

The owner of Peace used to operate Potala Vegan Cafe in Albany. I never had the opportunity to visit, and it closed permanently during the pandemic. Fortunately he has now opened Peach Natural Vegan Food. I love the simplicity of the menu. The food is simple, natural and wholesome. You just choose the size. I like to order the 3 item plate plus a "snack". The momos are my favorite especially since they don't have cilantro inside. The desserts are great, too. The cookies are sugar free. Sautéed burdock, carrots, daikon, and green beans with dill, garlic, ginger, kombu, and onion. 3. Collard greens and kale with leek and shiitake sauce. 4. My partner has been on a health kick and even though I wasn't sure about trying this place, I decided to give it a go. I called in an order for pick-up and the person at the phone was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Generous to split with my partner, which is the soup plus all five of the entrees. I realized as I got home that I should definitely have gotten two orders as I was starving and could have eaten everything. Especially since everything was SO good! The entire meal looked very fresh and colorful, which was lovely. The soup was the French Lentil and Mixed Vegetables -- amazing. Exactly what I needed on that chilly day. The other entrees were: - Rice Patty with Onion and Shiitake Sauce -- I wasn't sure what this was but it was just that. A patty of rice with onion and shiitake sauce. It was my favorite! - Pinto Beans with Garlic and Onion -- Simple but delicious! - Sautéed Burdock, Carrots, Daikon, Green Beans, and Red Beets with Dill, Ginger, and Onion -- Okay, I wasn't sure about this one because I don't like beets and I'm picky when it comes to veggies as I like it cooked where it's soft but not too soft. Well, this was just that! And whatever seasoning they used was very good. It actually reminded me of my grandma's cooking. Perfect. - Collard Greens and Kale with Brown Mushroom and Kabocha Sauce -- Whatever sauce they used for this was BOMB. I also don't tend to like collard greens very much but I ate this upppp. - Mixed Greens with Avocado, Basil, Lemon Juice, and Agave Dressing -- The dressing for this? *chef's kiss* All in all, this place was a 12/10. I would definitely recommend it, and this is, again, coming from someone who normally doesn't like eating "healthy" food. They offer prix fixe delicious vegan organic standardized combination meal in a moderate or a larger size: a delicious soup and then a plate with rice, nicely flavored beans, some raw baby greens with a yummy dressing, cooked collards with sauce (today's was a tasty mushroom sauce), and some cooked veggies (today's: Roasted Butternut Squash, Kabocha Squash, Potatoes, and Yams with Dill, Garlic, and Ginger), Or you can choose the "trio" smaller meal: the soup and a subset of 3 items of your choosing that come with those prix fixe meals. My friend and I had the Modest (medium) size meal, and we were both too full for the order of momos (dumplings) we ordered; next time I will skip the momos. The people and environment were very welcoming. Was pleased to see Palden involved with this estabishment (who I knew from a similar restaurant that closed at which I was previously a regular). This location is the former Nomad Cafe, and the tables are made out of wood from the benches they dismantled at Berkeley's stadium (which is why the slats on the tables have numbers carved into them). read more
