Not bad not great. Lovely service! Very nice people! The service is great! But my chicken fried rice was a bit bland. It was cooked well, but lacked flavor. It was rice, chicken, onions, and a few sprouts. We also shared some crab Rangoon. They were not as crispy as I like and they were kind of sweet. The crab is imitation (tells you on the menu). But they were okay. We also shared some beef rolls. Interesting but heavy pepper flavor. Sauces were as expected. One was very spicy. The indoors of the place was set up 50/50 take out and a few tables in case you want to dine in. But they use part of the dining area for storage. All in all, I probably will go back, being a new local and all. But if there were other options I'd probably try something else first. Very good service! I ordered beef teriyaki on the specialty menu and got 2 beef sticks. No sauce , onions. Nothing. Just 2 dried beef sticks. So I'm basically eating plain white rice, no sauce or anything. I called and he said oh yeah that's it. I see teriyaki sticks in the appetizer section. This is very misleading. There isn't much flavor, which the sauce would have normally compensated for. I'm very disappointed. More so because it wasn't resolved. I won't argue my point. I don't usually leave negative reviews. But this is very disappointing at a time I was really craving it. This place is disgusting. We placed our order and sat down, it was filthy. Floor has never been cleaned. I went in Ladies room and could not believe how filthy it was, I did not use it. They already had our money so we decided to try it. A pupu platter for 2, I bit into chicken finger and it was rubber, could not eat it. Each piece of food was tried but we got up and threw all away. Really dirty, hand written signs on walls to clean up our tables. I am telling you this should not be open. Why does Board of Health not check these places out? Some of the best chinese food you'll find in Maine and even rivals spots located in Boston for being classic New England style Chinese. The staff is super friendly and family oriented my only complaint is the interior is a bit outdated as well as many other restaurants here in Maine. Other than that Long River Chinese is a must especially for New Years which I would recommend you place your order a couple hours in advance New Years Eve as the staff become incredibly overwhelmed with a rush of 150+ orders that day/ night. I hope all patrons keep in mind they are a small staff and wish they would have more patience with them as these order numbers are very high for a smaller shop. For years we've bounced back and forth between the two Chinese restaurants in North Conway and have never been really happy. We have heard from friends that this restaurant just over the Maine state line in Fryeburg has the best Chinese food in the area and today we decided to give it a go. First, if you are in Conway or NoCo already it's only a 15 minute drive to this spot. It's quick and it should show up more often when searching for local takeout. Second, the food/service for takeout is top notch except for a couple small caveats (all understandable). But here's the deal; No online menu. No online ordering. No online presence. No delivery. So while I had to drive there first to look at the menu and order I'm still happy I did! They were super friendly and the order was ready in the promised 15 minutes despite them being quite busy with take out orders. I'd also suggest only using the take out option vs dining in. They have no bar and just a handful of small 2 Person tables if you wanted to eat in. Take out is what this place is about! The quality of the food was the clincher. We've never had Chinese this good outside of a metropolitan area. For reference we had the PuPu Platter for 2 and the Triple Delight. This easily fed our family of four with enough leftovers for at least two lunches tomorrow! I'll post some pics of the menu as we couldn't find any online. We ordered a pupu platter for 5, lo mein, and pork fried rice. It was ready and waiting by the time I got there to pick it up. The ladies that helped me and charged me were friendly and told me their duck sauce is homemade. The food was plenty and then some for 5 hungry adults and a child. I am from out west so this really hit the spot as Colorado Chinese food just can't hold a candle to the northeast Chinese food of my childhood. The boneless spare ribs were sweet and not too fatty. We were very surprised at finding such an excellent Chinese food restaurant in the area. We've lived in Boston and New York, and have been looking for a good Chinese food to go place to no avail. What a surprise! Immaculate. Freshly cooked and delicious. The Crab Rangoons (which are a favorite) were the most delicately shaped we've had to hold the sauces we chose and deep fried to just the right texture. The Spring Rolls were moist and crunchy...not soggy. The Teriyaki Chicken Stick and Scallion Pancakes yummy. We tried a quick lunch but will be going back again for dinner.
