We love Thai cuisine - the Pad Thai here is probably the best we tasted ever. We saw only one car in their small lot when we drove in around 6:00 pm and had misgivings. No waiting to be seated is good, but only one car? We ordered Pork Larb, Seafood combination Spicy Pad Thai and Tamarind Duck. We wanted Thai spicy but went with the waitress's cautionary suggestion of spice level 2. The cocktails were good but the food was something to write home about. The pork larb was bursting with fresh herbal flavors- it was a delicious treat as an appetizer. But even better was the Spicy Pad Thai- seafood combination. It was hands down the best pad thai we ever tasted. I am not a duck fan but my wife was curious when the waitress suggested it as a popular specialty- but when it came, I did not get the gamey smell and proceeded to clean the plate. What a gem! While staying in North Conway we were glad to see there was a Thai restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. Thai Nakornping did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and gracious, and the food came out quickly and was very flavorful. My husband got beef pad Thai (his standard at all Thai restaurants) and I was able to sneak a bite - the sauce was flavorful and not too spicy (although he did have the option to order spicy if he wanted). I ordered the papaya salad which was fresh and crisp, and I could also choose my level of spiciness. The decor and ambience is very cozy with a lot of ethnic art and artifacts on the wall. Just a nice experience all around December 2024 We stopped in here yesterday, as we had eaten here before awhile back. We both forgot how good both the selections and the meals were. We had the Pad Thai and the Cashew Chicken. As we were there at an off hour, we were surprised at how quickly our order came. Starting with the slightly spicy, delicious Chicken Tom Kha Soup, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining here the other night. The soup was just soothing to our tastes and a great preface to dinner that included Chicken Massaman Curry, medium spiced, flavorful and my goodness, plenteous in the very large serving. There were other delightful dishes we didn't order, making it certain that we would be returning. Our host couldn't have been nicer, and the service was quick and friendly. Prices are what we'd call friendly: the soup was $6.95 and curry dish $15.95. The appetizers range from $7-10 and there are plenty of dinner choices under $20. Pad Prik Pao Chicken - I asked for mild because the dish was meant to be spicy overall and I think it was just a good amount of spicy. Not super spicy even with the mild version. Good amount of chicken in there as well and vegetables to balance. Green Curry Chicken Fried Rice - really surprising and good one here! I love the green curry flavor that was there on the rice but somehow my brother was not as big a fan. Added some other spicy sauce to it to make it work but I loved it all the same. Definitely appreciate the amount of broccoli in there! Prik King Chicken- Another really good curry. Chicken and vegetables to balance and a good flavor of the curry as well. It's such a delicious Thai food restaurant. Thai ice tea tasted very good and traditional.

We were craving Thai food and were starving. This was the only restaurant close to us at that time that was open for dine-in. I guess it was due to the pandemic, and the limit on number of people indoors, that others were closed. Nevertheless, the people here were warm and courteous. We got the chicken panang curry and the seafood combo drunken noodles. Both tasted really good. However, I guess they flipped the spice levels for the two dishes we asked. The duck was over cooked but the curry was delicious. The yellow curry was also good. The Ton Yum and Tom Kha were both great. And so was the Tamarind Duck, it was crispy and the sauce was great. I'm only in this part of the US every other summer, but every single time I'm here, I make sure to stop by this place and get some delicious Thai food. I absolutely love being able to get great food like this in such a small and rural town in the mountains. We've been coming here for many years, and we've continued to really love it! Some people mention rude service or impolite staff, and I recognize that may be their experience, but personally I have never encountered anything like that when eating here. I think it might be a cultural thing, where customer service/politeness in the US is something completely different than what it is in Thailand and other parts of Asia. I can't speak on what people have experienced, but I know that every time I've been there, all the staff have been very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating to my party and all the other customers present. People have also mentioned that the Thai food is watered-down to fit the Western palate, and to that I say, well, of course. Conway is by no means a highly urban area with bustling ethnic diversity--the main customers coming into this place most likely prefer a more Western take on traditional Thai dishes. Maybe it's because I normally live outside the US, but I always know to be aware of that when eating food from other cultures in this country. It's incredibly easy to ask for more spiciness or flavor, and the staff are usually very happy to make that happen for you. I think complaining about food being "inauthentic" when served in a country where the restaurant's main customers are people from a different cultural background is unfair to the owners, who make a living from continual business, and might be worse-off if they didn't cater to what the majority of their customers prefer. Additionally, comparing this place's food to mall Thai food is really unfair--I think the food here is far, far superior to the extremely Westernized food found in mall food courts. (Unless other people's food courts are incredibly good--if so, drop some recs!) Overall I really love this place and I wanted to give them a review I think they well deserve. Dish with shrimp as well as a seaweed salad. The servings were reasonable. The only disappointment was that I forgot to order my spice level. We still found all elements of the meal to be fresh, not greasy, and very delicious and satisfying. The restaurant was small but clean and nicely decorated. I ordered takeout, got the drunken noodles and pad thais and some kid stuff. frozen vegetables -- For the prices they charge I expect fresh ingredients, how hard is it to use fresh vegetables?? Instead I am greeted with the cheapest of cheap frozen vegetable melange -- you know the crap you pick out of a cheap Chinese buffet? the noodles -- mushy. Not much to say, not great. flavor -- bland. Did they run everything through the flavor extractor? I have had tastier food in prison. Spice -- understand their clientele is American and so they aren't making things thai spicy, but I ordered "Hot" drunken noodles and I've had spicier cheerios for breakfast. Service -- I asked the auntie there to change an ice tea from unsweetened to sweetened. She shook her head and said it wasn't possible, showed me the receipt showing an unsweetened tea was ordered. Huh, maybe a language barrier? I asked again, told her I wanted to change it. She reluctantly agrees, then tells me it will cost an extra dollar. First, the price difference is .50$ on their menu, and second, I have just ordered $100 worth of food with a $20 tip on top of that. Charge me if you want but this is braindead behavior from a business standpoint. I point out that it is a $.50 difference on their menu, not a dollar. She tells me it is a dollar with tax. I stare at her. She brings out a calculator and hits some buttons, shows me its now $.75 with tax. The positive? Eating the swill they serve here will give you something to compare actually good food with. read more

We had barely stepped through the entryway when the employee at the front door aggressively raised her arms and crossed them in an "X", shaking them and hitting them together, yelling, "We're closed! We're closed! The kitchen is too busy!". She did not let us get a word in. We started to walk away and she followed us to the door, continuing to yell "The kitchen is too busy!". There was nobody to greet while we waited to get the table. I ultimately had to ask the owner that the 4 of us (including 2 kids) want to dine in. They said it's 30 mins wait to serve food because there was only 1 person in the kitchen preparing all orders. While red shrimp curry was nice, chicken fried rice and drunken noodles were big flop. The only best thing was a server/employee who was very considerate and down to earth. I don't think the owner cared much. EXCELLENT VEGETABLE TEMPURA AT A GREAT PRICE Went in a a cold, quiet weekday for lunch. Just about the only ones there. The inside structure is a little haphazard (i.e. plywood seams don't meet in corners, trim work isn't complete) and the decor is abundant (although they do have cool, intricate wood wall art pieces in the far room) but the food is absolutely wonderful. Got the tempura and it was excellent, not greasy, truly excellent. I consider myself a good cook and I enjoy making tempura but this was far superior than my own. And it was at a crazy low price.
