I've been to their Scarborough location and this place is still fantastic! The place wasn't to busy when we were there, so we got a table right away for our party of 5. The owner was on staff that night and he was a super cool outgoing dude. He let us know up front that their washroom was out of service due to some plumbing issues, but that we could use the washroom in the hotpot place next door. He also let us know ahead of time any menu items that were out that night (luckily none of the items we were going for). The menu is digital, and you order on your phone to send the order to the kitchen. Love that most menu items come with pictures, but also you can simply ask the staff what something is. We ordered an array of BBQ dishes, like the lamb skewers (classic), chicken skin skewers, cabbage, braised pork belly with quail egg, fried rice, and of course the 3L beer tower! The prices for all these menu items are amazing in my opinion, perfect for a friend gathering or late night drunk food. Beer prices are fantastic, enough for at least 2 rounds per person (that's 10 cups total)! This place is great for shareables and tasty food! The owner is always down for a conversation, I asked him about his lovely furniture at his Scarbrough location and he and his family actually made the tables! Amazing! Wow, I ordered a bunch of skewers over the weekend and can you believe it? $1.80 something for four skewers on the Fantuan app? Unbelievable that I thought it might be a mistake. I ordered a ton of skewers, some grilled oysters, quail on a skewer. I scheduled the pick-up a day before to give ample notice for this large order. When I arrived for 8:30pm for my pick up time, I was greeted by the staff telling me they needed five more mins and then another five... 20 minutes later, he told me what was going on that they didn't expect to be as busy and they ran out of oysters, so they had to buy more. The good thing is it's fresh and understandable since the food is so darn cheap. I like the flavour they had on the skewers, Northern-style flavours with cumin in the seasoning. The spices had a bit of a kick, and while the skewers aren't as big as it is on their product photos, it's also not that skimpy either for such a great price. I don't normally give out 1 stars unless it's bad. First of all, we were there during Canadian Thanksgiving so a lot of places were packed in Chinatown. We chose this place because the kids were hungry and the next door restaurant (dimsum place) that we planned to go was PACKED! Menu - Going here blindly, we don't know what the food is going to be. Menu consists of skewers. Honestly, we're fine with skewers. Both my husband and I had difficulties with their online order system. Probably because we're using American phone what's come next is going to be shocking. Once the food was on our table, we realized we ordered 6 shrimp skewers but since we accidentally ordered it we figure we can just take it to go. Taste - Taste wise is pretty "meh". Yes I could taste the cajun/pepper but other than that it's just blah. The soup was pretty much water. No taste whatsoever. The fried rice is totally NOT RECOMMENDED. This place is the first place that put clamshell inside the rice. One of my kids bite into pieces of clamshell and chipped his teeth. Luckily it's a baby teeth but seriously? I can understand if you don't want to take the shrimp tail but putting the actually clamshell inside a fried rice is not okay! We ordered a bunch of things and we don't like everything. Really is a waste of money! Mind you, we spent quite the $$$ going here. Service - BAD! When we walked in, one of the server greeted us until a lady (who walked the same time as us) rudely asking for our vaccination card. Mind you we're used to be asked proof of vaccination but the way she asked was so rude! During the whole time we were there, the servers were talking LOUD! It almost seems like they were yelling at each other. I can understand that Asian loves to talk loud but you can't do that during a service hour. This restaurant offers an extensive menu of northern Chinese BBQ skewers, grilled seafood and a variety of Chinese stir fried dishes. The skewers were all very flavourful with cumin seasonings - not really spicy. my go tos are lamb, beef, chicken wings, and chicken cartilage. Meats were pretty tender and not dry. But I must say they all taste the same after a while. I've tried their grilled scallops and grilled clams with vermecilli. Both come with LOTS of garlic and hot chili sauce which is really good with the vermicelli soaked in. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed when I ordered the clams the second time as the sauce was a lot more diluted and with less garlic (see photos). I also would not recommend the steamed bun with grilled meat. It's literally just the skewer meat inside a bun.. with no other sauce or toppings. It was kind of dry and a lil hard to digest. FOD and FoodHwy apps always have 50%/60% off for this restaurant so I think it's a pretty good deal. Worth trying if you are craving BBQ skewers! read more

Decided to order food here as I was craving skewered meat and stumbled upon this place on the fantuan app. Amazing deal as it was 50% off the entire store plus they were offering another coupon ontop of it. I ordered an assortment of different types of skewers ranging from lamb, pork belly and beef. Loved the cumin spices on these and it was so cheap. I also ordered two rices, minced pork with potato and cubed beef with potato. They came with sweet and sour soup, sesame oil bean sprouts (cold dish) and 3 piece spring rolls for each rice dish. I also ordered 12 piece steamed dumplings which were pork and cabbage. Flavoring was good, not so salty like other places, great for dipping with the vinegar. Finally I ordered 5 pieces of the scallops with minced garlic and vermicelli noodles. It's been ages since I last had these and it was delicious. Which I ordered more, great flavoring from the minced garlic, nice light spice kick. They Scallop was a bit over done but it was ok. It was pretty quiet when I came in to pick up my order. I noticed they had patio which is great! Friendly staff as well, definitely should give this place a try. read more

This place specializes in charcoal grilled meats. Their skewers are great, the seasoning blend they use gives a great smoky and spicy flavour. My favourites are the lamb and pork belly skewers. The quail skewer was a little disappointing, not very much meat at all, it was mostly bone. Their seafood is also great, they do "seafood shovel" platters with a great variety of different shellfish in it. The sauce they use tastes great as well. Their other cooked food is really just so-so. The fried rice, Shanghai noodles, and Kung Pao chicken were somewhat mediocre but I didn't have high expectations given that it isn't really their speciality. They tasted fine, and the rice paired well with the meat and seafood. Overall you should try this place for their skewers and seafood! read more

First of all, not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. My friend took me here after he went with other friends and loved it.... I loved it too! I went after their renovation (I think it was completed Nov/Dec of 2019). The restaurant is now HUGE, and very beautiful. This is the kind of place people go to for instagram pictures in the lobby. It was also super busy with a long line up. Since it was my first time here, I ordered way too many items. Its really hard not to because their menu is super, super long.... I feel like they have everything! One thing I disliked about the menu was that is was paper, and you write on it. This must waste a lot of paper :( I wish they had a reusable menu that was more environmentally friendly. I also wish the menu had photos because some items like the noodles and oysters would have been nice to see what they look like first. Especially with the seafood being ~$20. I think all the skewers had the same cumin seasoning, which was okay with me because it was DELICIOUS and heavily seasoned which made it extremely flavourful. I give the food a solid 5/5 because everything was yummy. Despite ordering maybe 10 items, I did not dislike a single one! Even the dry noodle dish ($5) was plentiful and yummy! I would totally come here again just to get the $5 noodles on their own. My favourite dish was probably the oysters that were bigger than my hand. I highly recommend this and the noodles! Aside from the paper menu, they use cheap tea light candles to keep the skewers hot. This is bad for your health and they are toxic to inhale, and it also contributes to landfill waste. This place would be a 5/5 if it didnt use the paper menu and tealights. I also hated the fact that the washroom did not have any heating. It felt like fridge in there! We were walking along Dundas towards a restaurant in Chinatown on Spadina and noticed Long Time No See. We thought we should check it out because it looked interesting. I saw some review with their Scarborough location and we love skewers. Entering the restaurant the servers placed us at the very very back corner of the restaurant. We were very squished between the other restaurant. Already we felt uncomfortable. They gave us the look that we can only sit there as they were filling the restaurant from the back to the front. Sucks to be the first customer to enter the restaurant. After sitting down, we were given a menu. The servers were new and not knowledgeable with the menu so we had to pretty much guess what might look good because we also did not have pictures from other reviews to go by. We ordered a few skewers, 2 vegetable plates and the pancakes. The food was good but came cold. They provide you with this heating plate which is more of a gimmick. It was suppose to keep the food hot but in reality it's just a plate with 2 cheap dollar store candles that is not hot enough to reach the top plates. The flavours were there and tasty. However, our biggest beef was the cold food. You wonder about the food handling and how long the skewers were sitting before serving the customers. They really should have heated up the skewers before serving them to the customers. Bring cash and they will give you 10% off. Overall, yes the skewers were tasty and they reminded me of the skewers sold at the Asian night markets. However, since all of the food and the skewers came cold I gave it a 3 star. read more

Wow I'm surprised of the rating that this place got. I think its a solid 4.5 stars. Lamb skewers is a must, the flavour is excellent, theres enough turn over that it's constantly fresh. It has a nice crisp to it. FUQI FEIPIAN (夫妻肺片) Spicy tripe - this was absolutely delicious will always get it if my group can eat tripe. Pitchers are affordable, service is friendly and homely. I don't see anything wrong with this place. It's not high end dining, it doesn't pretend to be, you're here to eat skewers and have good time with a group. And its perfect for that. read more

This was my first time at a Chinese bbq skewer place, my friend and I just wanted a small snack so we didn't order much. We got the Grilled Lamb and Grilled Beef Kabobs and it was really good. I forgot how much I missed the smokey, bbq flavour of meat skewers until i took a bite. It tastes just like the skewers they have at the Chinese Night Markets during the summer! Since we moved to Downtown, we found our weekly place to chill. If you love the skewers in the northern part of China, l would highly recommend this place. The best lamb skewers with the authentic taste in Toronto after l tried so many of them. The meat is tender and fresh, and that's my childhood taste in the night market of China. Highly recommend their beer, beef with cucumber cold dish and pork belly. One last but the most important thing is you will love the Laoban (owner) there, it's their family business. Horrible/rude service decent food. Friday night dinner almost all the tables are taken so they asked us to share a larger table with another smaller group which was completely fine with us. Ordered our food, then quickly the entire night begins to go downhill. The tall Caucasian server (speaks Mandarin...cool) drops a plate of baos down in the middle of the table so naturally we ask which group is it for, he says he doesn't know and walks off. Uhh okay you're busy sure but isn't this your job? Next the same server brings our meat skewers but the heating plate isn't set up yet. I ask if they can exchange/clean the heating plate as its dirty and he drops down the plate of skewers says nothing and walks off. Another server brings our other dishes and I ask her to change the plate, once again I'm ignored. Then the original rude server comes back, says that it's fine if the heating plate is dirty because he's putting a piece of aluminum foil over it then proceeds to put all our meat skewers on the foil. I saw food constantly being delivered to wrong tables and taken back. Food was decent but I have serious doubts about the hygiene of this establishment and the service is rude, dismissive & atrocious. read more

This restaurant was very lacklustre. The place is cash only but failed to have any signs at the door saying that it is. I had to go to an ATM withdraw pay a 3$ flat fee because of their carelessness. Quality of food is very subpar and overly greasy. The wooden sticks for the grilled kebabs are clearly being re-used and re-served to customers. The sticks are burnt pure black on the tip and bottom, which would not happen from just one grill.This is very unethical and dirty. Service is very cold and servers seemed uncoordinated. Much better Chinese BBQ options elsewhere, for example magical taste of China. read more

We walked past here and decided to give this place a try. The guy who was here was super friendly and asked if I had ever ate there before. We said we had not and her gave us a quick instruction on how things worked. I thought he was super helpful and it helped us find things that we liked. The food was good we got a lot of skewers for a pretty good price and it all tasted pretty good. The place took my card (i dont know why previous people are saying they dont). My three adult sons, along with me and my friend, had an amazing food experience last night at "Long Time No See" The cuisine is Northern Chinese Barbecue and many of the dishes were truly unique (to me). It's a bit noisy, but not so much that you can't enjoy a conversation. Hard to describe the wide variety of dishes on the menu. Lots of different meat skewers, delish veggie options and even a small variety of insects, which were, for the most part, quite tasty (my kids tell me to get used to them.....they're the protein source of the future). The place was hopping on a Saturday night with a very cool vibe. Service was excellent! It's a must try if you're in the mood for a different kind of night out in Chinatown. read more

The waitress in this restaurant was so unprofessional for handling the matters . During this pAndamic time being delivery guy I just calmly went inside ask whether my order is ready or not . She keep ignoring my words and busy with her stuff. Ok fair enough . Suddenly there are few order is ready and I asked her again whether it's ready or not she responded in a very rude manner telling me it's not ready. It's been more than 40 min of waiting and she wouldn't tell u what will be wait time . Suddenly there are few order came out I asked her again she got frustrated and telling me get the fuck out of here . I was like what the hell u being so rude. There are few other delivery guys and they told me that lady was over reacting and so rude every time. Came across this place while in the area, it looked fairly busy so we gave it a try. I really liked the idea of sampling different kinds of kabobs. I liked the atmosphere and the concept but the food quality was not that great. The food came out hot and was flavourful, but the kabobs all seemed to taste the same. They seemed to use the same spicy sauce on all the orders, the difference was mainly just texture. I was not crazy about the flavour, but others who may like the flavour may not find this as much of an issue. The quality of the meats was fatty or gristly (lamb, short rib, pork belly, beef). I think the lamb and short rib was the best. The silk worm was interesting to try (yucky but an adventure), they should make that order as just one stick with two worms since we didn't eat all of it and found it too much. The baby cabbage was quite soupy and again had the same flavour to me. The eggplant was decent. I saw some people eating out of a big bone (marrow?) and also something that looked like French toast, I thought that looking interesting. The staff was nice, attentive and the food came out quick. The bathroom was pretty nice by Asian restaurant standards. It's not for me, but maybe you might try it and love the flavour. read more
