The outside deck, the view, the service, and of course the wine were all stunning. My only regret was not taking pictures on this gorgeous (and a bit windy) day of the surrounding hills and valley. We also brought some wine home (Rose and Chardonnay) and was surprised that we didn't join the Wine Club as we sometimes do on special experiences such as this.

Last year we celebrated our same event at Belle Fiore in a private dining room that was perfect for our event. This year we were not in a private dining room. We were open to a large room where the general public sits with very loud music. Make no mistake, the music was Broadway Phil & the Shouters so it was GREAT -- but not appropriate for an elegant evening. Our server was wonderful. She was very attentive and made certain she took gracious care of everyone's needs. Her excellent service kept me from giving a lower rating. What contributed to a 2 star rating for this event was the fact that our bill was probably somewhere between $600 and $700, yet restaurant management declined to allow us to pay as couples or individuals with credit cards. Instead, management required all of us to bring cash -- even though we had no idea how much to bring to pay for our dinners and wine -- and for our president to have to collect the cash from everyone and count it several times to ensure that it was correct. In my opinion, collecting payment for a dinner is done by staff. This was insulting. As a member of the planning committee, I will not recommend that we hold future elegant evenings at Belle Fiore -- if that continues to be a requirement. It is utterly déclassé. There are other restaurants we can give our business to that understand excellent service. Clearly, management does not.

The limited hours are explained by Brian, the owner, being an actual farmer who is in the vineyards with his team regularly. There is not "tasting room" or staff (at least on weekdays) to speak of. Gorgeous outside area more than makes up for it. Excellent wines, many that you won't find around here. It reminded me of old time Sonoma County wineries back in the day that lacked pretention and yet were gorgeous, memorable, and "real." Can't recommend a visit highly enough...unless you enjoy pretention. Brian is worldly and the funnier for it. He was a hoot. We have 150 or so bottles of wine in our "wine closet" yet we brought 6 bottles back we enjoyed them so much. See you next year Brian.
