Have you ever tried a pork and crab bun? It's a giant soup dumpling filled with crab meat and pork! Look at these handmade xiao long bao! So fresh!! You eat this giant bun with a straw! Caution!!! It's HOT and completely filled with soup! When you're eating these made-to-order dumplings, you know you're at the right place! Every bite is so juicy! This Wuxi-style spare rib is incredibly tender! Rich, fall-off-the-bone goodness! The beef in cumin sauce gives us a nice kick of spice. In contrast, we need some stir-fried mushrooms and vegetables. And shrimp fried rice to balance it all out! Classic Asian family meal, right? Surprise here!!! These warm-served red bean puff pastries!!! A buttery crust on the outside and sweet red bean paste on the inside. No wonder they've been around for 15 years! IG: socalhkfoodies

My family lives in Rowland Heights, where it is literally Chinese food Heaven, so when my sister decided to come here to celebrate my nephew's birthday, I was a bit surprised they would go all the way to Baldwin Park to have dumplings. My mom is VERY picky so I drove here with really high expectations of their food. "This place must have REALLY juicy dumplings!" I thought to myself on the way here. I actually got lost coming here from Monrovia and ended up driving around in circles before pulling into a plaza that I typically would not stop to. A dumpling restaurant in a small plaza in the middle of Baldwin Park just seemed so out of place. I felt awkward being there but I thought to myself "The food must be SO good!". The restaurant itself is a decent size, with about 14 tables, with a spacious open kitchen area for them to make dumplings. The decor is outdated but cleanliness was an 8/10. Lots of different food selections on their menu with average pricing. They do serve beer so that is a huge plus. We had a party of 10 so we ordered lots of different food to try. My mom raved about every item we had (surprisingly, she is a huge fan of this restaurant), but I think every single dish was too salty for my taste. My favorite was the spicy fish and my least favorite was their boiled dumplings. The bill with tips came out to just a tad bit under $300, which isn't bad at all, but I don't think I would drive all the way to Baldwin Park for dumplings when I live so close to Arcadia and in Walnut and Rowland Heights daily. Food overall was a 5/10. Service makes up for mediocre food with a 9/10.

Wasn't a fan of the giant crab soup dumpling.....A) there's no logical way of eating eat, B) there's enough soup filling in there to fill 1/2 a rice bowl. C) the overall visual just looks unappealing to the eyes after initial breakage. Not a practical dish, would remove from menu. Liked the beef sliced noodles. You can tell noodles are fresh, dough are hand battered and pulled through noodle machinery. Soup base was light beef soup, with hints of szechuan green prickly peppercorns oils creating that numbing effect, and the hot chilli oil that glazes the surface of the soup had notes of ginger, coriander, garlic, anise, this spicy numbing beef noodle soup is a refreshing take from the Canton / Taiwanese style served at Mr. Dragon and Corner Beef Noodle Soup restaurant. Noodles had the perfect al dente ness.. with a bounce. Pot stickers were a bit dry, lacked juices.

My friend from Shanghai insisted I try this place, and wow... Long Xing Ji did NOT disappoint Authentic Jiangnan flavors! I finally came to check out Long Xing Ji today. The moment I walked in, I was hit with that lively, comforting "street food" vibe. You can even watch the chefs making dumplings and noodles right in front of you--it honestly feels like stepping into a street in southern China. Carb lovers, this place is heaven. We ordered a full table of carb-loaded goodness, and every bite was incredible Crab Roe Soup Dumplings Packed with real crab roe and meat--super generous filling! I even found tiny bits of soft shell. Poke a small hole and sip the soup first... SO flavorful. The wrapper is paper-thin and the filling is super tender. No wonder it's their signature. Wuxi Pork Ribs + Braised Pork Meatballs The ribs have that classic sweet-savory Wuxi flavor--fall-off-the-bone tender and coated in rich sauce. Huge portion too! The meatballs are juicy and perfectly balanced between lean and fat--bursting with flavor when you bite in. Pork Soup Dumplings + Shrimp Wontons The xiao long bao are filled with rich broth--definitely go for the slightly sweet style! The shrimp wontons have whole, visible shrimp inside, and the soup is light but super fresh and comforting. Crab Shell Pastry + Yulan Fried Bun The crab shell pastry is super flaky and savory--crumbly in the best way. And the Yulan bun? First time trying it in the U.S. Crispy golden outside, soft and chewy inside with a sweet-savory filling. So good. Shanghai Vegetable Rice + Scallion Oil Noodles The veggie rice is perfectly seasoned, with greens and diced pork mixed in--so nostalgic and comforting. The scallion oil noodles are simple but packed with aroma, with that classic Shanghai flavor and chewy texture. This meal was seriously a flavor celebration. Every dish carries that delicate yet comforting Jiangnan essence. I can't believe you can find such authentic Shanghai-style food in LA--so happy If you love carbs and Jiangnan cuisine, SAVE this spot and go try it!

My partner took me here for dinner yesterday, and overall we had a good experience. The dumplings were fresh, flavorful, and tasted pretty authentic, definitely the highlight of our meal. We really enjoyed them. The only dish I didn't love as much was the soup. We ordered items labeled as spicy, but none of them actually had much heat. I wish they would have added more spice to match what was advertised. One big plus is the location inside the mall, it's very convenient. However, because it's open and not enclosed like a traditional restaurant, it doesn't feel as intimate or cozy. Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the dumplings, but I'd love to see more spice and a slightly more private dining atmosphere.

We seriously thought we lost this place for good, so you can imagine our excitement when we randomly stumbled across Long Xing Ji #1 Juicy Dumpling while searching for dumplings on Yelp today! Turns out they didn't disappear they just moved, and thankfully not too far from our hometown area. They are now located in Covina. Walking in felt like finding an old favorite all over again. The service is still just as great as we remembered...friendly, quick, and welcoming. And the food? Still delivering those huge, satisfying portions with barely any wait time. It's honestly impressive how fast everything came out, especially considering how busy dumpling spots can get. We were so happy to see that the quality and flavors we loved are still there, and it definitely brought back all the reasons we kept coming back before. This new location is still super convenient for us too, which makes it even better. The only small downside was that some of the dishes came out a little colder than we would've liked, but honestly, it didn't take away too much from the overall experience. All in all, we're just thrilled this place is still around and still doing its thing. Definitely coming back again (and probably very soon)! As always...get the spare ribs!!!!

My family had just finished attending our son's graduation from his Technical Trade School in Rancho Cucamonga and I thought since we were in the area, it was road trip time to Baldwin Park for a celebratory lunch. The parking lot for Long Xing Ji Juicy Dumpling is kinda compact and shares its spaces with many other businesses in this small strip mall. We entered the restaurant a few minutes after 12 P.M. It was surprisingly not filled up with many diner yet. Several more patrons came in shortly after we were seated and had placed our order. A young man gretted my family and brought us to a table and asked what type of beverages we would like. Soon 4 12 oz. cans of Coke ($2.20 each) arrived at our table. I also ordered a pot of hot tea which was free. We were given one laminated menu to look at. It was explained to us that to order, we needed to scan a QR code on the table using a cell phone, to place our order. Once we selected our menu items, it was easy and hassle free to order from our phone. The only thing you cannot do is pay on the phone. Your server will hand you your bill when you are ready to pay at the end of your meal. Our order: Shredded Bean Curd w/Cilantro ($9.99); Juicy Pork Dumplings (XLB's w/Unsweet Filling)/Eight Pieces for $12.99 (we doubled this item ($25.98); Juicy Pork & Crab Bun (Giant XLB) for $8.99; Crispy Onion Pancake ($7.99); Beef Rolls ($12.99); Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers (Eight Pieces for $12.99); House Golden Crispy Cake (Four Pieces for $12.99); A Choy ($15.99) Our wait was under five minutes before our dishes began to fly out of the hardworking kitchen. First to arrive was the veggie dish, A Choy. Delicious and crunchy with a nice amount of garlic in the saucing. Second course arriving was the cold Bean Curd w/Cilantro. Shreds of firm tofu lightly tossed with the right amount of Cilantro and a sesame based dressing. This was a new dish for me and the wife (our sons passed on trying) and we really liked it. In quick succession came the Juicy Pork Dumplings-Unsweet, the Juicy Pork & Crab Bun, Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers, Beef Rolls and the House Golden Crispy cakes. The Unsweet Pork XLB's were really good. The dough used to encapsulate the brioth and filling was delicate and thin, yet one could pick it up from the steaming pan without it sticking and breaking apart before you can appreciate it. Is it the best we have ever had....No, but I would rate these a strong 7.5 out of 10. I wish their condiments you you use when eating XLB's were a bit stronger and or in a much more generous portion. They are really stingy with the ginger, and the black vinegar seemed watered down in flavor and strength. The giant Pork & Crab Bun (XLB) was something I have never had before. I gently poked the dumpling with a provided straw and offered my wife and two sons a chance to try it. Only my mini me (youngest son) wanted to try though he is not a seafood fan. He tried but not his cup of tea. I sucked up the broth which was still piping hot several minutes after it was delivered to our table. I like it, it was mild in the crab roe flavor but I enjoyed the flavor profile. I decied to attempt (based on other Yelper's suggestions) to remove the dumpling for the steaming pan to eat. I was quite surprised to see that the dumpling consisted entirely of broth with no solid filling: you can see the mess I made on my plate. It The wrapper again was quite thin and I devoured both the broth and wrapper with gusto. The Crispy onion pancake was not the best we have ever had: not a lot of green onions in it. The beef rolls were prety good. A generous amount of both deli beef wand cilantro. It could've used a bit more Hoisin sauce though. The Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers were decent. Again, Not the best but not the worst. I tried using the chili oil that is in each table. It was very mild in both flavor and heat level. Lastly, the House Golden Crispy Cake. It read well on the menu description. Basically using the same dough as what fried sesame balls (Jian Dui) are made with but filled instead with a pork filling. Not sure what I was expecting (based on Jian Dui texture and mouth feel) but all four of us were very fond of these. They took several minutes to cool as the filling was piping hot! They looked so appetizing until you take a bite of the dough wrapper. I'm trying no to be mean spritied, but the dough for being deep fried was slimy and squishy when one begins chewing. I am used to Jian Dui having some resistance and chewiness to it's dough but this was way different. The filling also caught me off guard. The pork filling was really sweet. I really wish I could like this dish but not sure if what we experienced is what they are suppose to be like or not. Our waitress/server was very polite and explained each dish as she presented it to our table. It was nice to try several new dishes. We would return to eat here again if we are in the area.

Not much dumpling spots in the surrounding area, so if you want to get your dumpling/ xiao long bao fix, this place will do. Place gets filled up pretty fast so be prepared for a short wait during peak lunch hours. Food was reasonably priced.

Never fails! Had moms encore birthday dinner here and the food is so good. Really authentic, flavorful, and quick (you scan and order off a QR menu). Service is good. The XLBs are a must.

Honestly did not expect to love this place as much as I did. Long Xing Ji in Baldwin Park does Wuxi-style dumplings and Jiangnan dim sum, and they do it really well. The crab roe soup dumpling is the one to get. It's huge like, palm-sized huge. The server showed me how to use the straw to drink the broth first before biting in. Rich, savory, a little sweet, no fishiness at all. Really good. The xiao long bao is made fresh every day, you can actually see the aunties wrapping them when you walk in. Skin is thin, broth is clean and sweet. Very legit. We also tried the Wuhan sesame noodles (surprisingly good), cumin beef, and the tangyuan for dessert. Everything hit. Service was genuinely warm. The owner gave us a pack of tangyuan to take home on our way out -- didn't expect that at all. Little things like that make you want to come back. Place is clean, well-kept, comfortable. No complaints.

I enjoy the contact-less ordering when you can use the smartphone, scan and place the order by phone to your table. AND they offer free tea, a nice cozy plus on your winter night. All the food looked delicious. I ordered the wonton soup, good but it was heavy on the white pepper seasoning. I ordered togo the braised eggplant, green onion mixed cold noodle and the hot and spicy noodle soup. Braised Eggplant: I LOVE this dish at all restaurants, but they made it kind of spicy here. I was not expecting that. But still delicious Green Onion Mixed Noodle (cold). This was refreshing. The onion vinegrette sauce made it tangy. They had shredded carrots and some bok choy. Perfect for my 1 year old daughter. Hot & Spicy Beef Noodle: Good, but note that it is a schezwan spicy. Overall, I had a good experience and will be back.

I personally love their spicy wonton soup, but I've also tried the regular soup and the broth is amazing either way. I just prefer the spicier version. It's hard to really say what you should order here, I personally like the spicy wonton soup, but every single one of their appetizers that I have tried are amazing, unfortunately, I haven't tried too many of their main dishes as I tend to be a creature of habit, but I'm sure just like with all the appetizers that I've tried everything you order here will come out amazing. However, if you want to try something a little different, there are some "traditional" Kaiping specialties that I haven't seen on menus anywhere else. I've always come with my family and have received great service because my dad knows the staff. They speak my home dialect so I'm sure there's some bias there. Foodwise, I've tried quite a bit and haven't had any dishes that didn't hit the mark for me. Standouts for me are the big claypot yellow eel rice, their specialty roast goose (the 2 dishes just listed may require a preorder but again, my dad usually handles all the ordering), their beansprout with pig intestine, and their egg plant with salted fish. The claypot rice is ordered by the kilo so really is a big party dish but has nice succulent pieces of eel, really well cooked rice, and then of course the crispy rice at the bottom. The goose is very flavorful and not super gamey, it has more of a meaty texture and bite than the younger poultry an American pallette may be used to so word of warning. I really like the beansprout with pig intestine, again not really gamey but very savory with very tender, fatty pieces of intestine (highly recommend even if you're hesitant with intestine). The eggplant with salted fish is also intensely savory with a pungency from the salted fish that may seem like a lot but melds really well with the sauce and overall flavor of the dish. Though I haven't tried every dish on their menu, I've tried quite a bit and can confidently say they'll bring out some tasty Chinese dishes.

It's really hard for me to find good Asian food in Baldwin Park so I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this place. Highly recommend. Our server was a Chinese lady..probably didn't speak much of English and didn't come across as friendly but to be honest that's how you know the food is going to slap when you have a waitress with the meanest RBF...so don't be alarmed just know food is going to smack! They are also pretty good with customizing their ingredients. My wife is gluten free so we would ask that they not add in soy sauce or oyster sauce in some of the dishes that we know can still work without those two ingredients. One of my top favorite Chinese restaurants. Their food is so yummy and packed with flavor. Highly…read morerecommend the honey walnut and sweet and sour shrimp. Also ordered crispy chow mein and you can never go wrong with that! Prices are so reasonable, service is exceptional, and serving sizes are huge. GO NOW, this is your sign!

Super solid spot for a family dinner!…read more We ordered a massive spread from here and honestly, everything was really good. The kung pao chicken had a great savory flavor with just the right amount of kick and a good crunch from the peanuts, while the orange chicken had a really good, tangy sweet glaze to it. Just a heads-up if you like it super crunchy, their version is definitely on the softer, saucier side (which I prefer), but the flavor is spot on. The minced chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and super flavorful, and the egg drop soup was pure comfort in a bowl and came out piping hot. The absolute standout was definitely the deep fried fish fillet. The batter was super light and airy, and the fish inside was perfectly flaky and tender. We paired it all with the vegetable lo mein, which was loaded with veggies and the noodles weren't mushy at all, which is always a win. Portions are good, everything feels fresh, and it definitely hits the spot. We have been dining here for years and will continue to do so!
