The food was flavorful and comforting, with a great variety of dishes. The Lao Gan Ma stir-fried pork kidneys were savory with a nice spicy kick, while the water shield wontons were delicate and comforting. The braised pork ribs were tender and flavorful. The crab soup dumplings were juicy and rich, and the boiled fish with beef slices had a satisfying spicy, savory broth. Overall, a delicious spot for a Chinese meal with plenty of flavorful dishes to share!

Came to LONG XING JI because of the GIANT SOUP DUMPLING. My girl's eyes were definitely bigger than her stomach because she ordered two and in the end, she couldn't even finish one. We had to take her second one home (because I ordered something for my self and the other kid got a whole bao just or herself too) and the dumpling, no surprise here, didn't taste as good when reheated. BUT.... it was great when it just came out of the kitchen and placed in front of us. The giant dumpling is a crab and pork xiao long bao and filled out a medium sized bowl. The GLASS SHRIMP is delicious. LONG XING JI is on the second floor of this lare shopping center with its own free and large parking lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is large, clean and comfortable enough to bring your family or a large group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not for banquets.
We came back to get our favorite salted green beans and pork belly fried rice. It did not disappoint. Same great taste and flavors, and that is why we compare everywhere with here for items we get. One sour note. We always tip, but when the waiter asks if you are paying with cash, you start wondering why. It is because they were note getting their tips if the person was paying by card. So I paid by card, but left the tip in cash on the table. They are moving due to the building being renovated, but take care of the employees please.
Famous for their hand sized soup dumplings, "Juicy Dumplings" is a small restaurant located in San Gabriel Square, next to a tofu house and many empty storefronts. It came on my radar because of their soup dumpling, so when we needed to be in the area for a Saturday night, our group of four agreed to meet there. We were seated right away and given a laminated card with a marker, and two picture menus without prices. It's a cool way to provide pictures for menu items, without having to constantly update the expensive picture menu because of price changes. We got 4 hot waters (provided in large plastic glasses which was appreciated), and a coke ($2.20, only from a can since they don't have a soda machine, obviously no refills). We ordered the following and they came as they were prepared. Juicy Pork/Crab bun for $9.49 each (2) - this is what they are famous for and it came last. You really have to eat it two stages: first sucking out the juices with a straw, then tearing the skin apart. It is unique, but the ratio of skin to soup seems wrong to me. wouldn't get it again. Juicy Pork/Crab dumpling $16.99 - comes with 9 pieces and is expensive. But the dumplings were very good, well crafted and the soup inside was delicious. Green Beans $14.99 - wok fired green beans. Plenty given and was good. Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce $15.99 - garlic sauce at a chinese restaurant can mean a lot of different things. This version uses a lot more chilly oil and vinegar than garlic, and was very red hot in looks and flavor. It used finely diced pork loin pieces. House Chow Mein ($12.99) - another case where you can't be sure what Chow Mein is. In this case, it was spaghetti noodles which I don't want to eat at a chinese restaurant. But my co-diners liked it a lot, especially for the flavor, quantity, and price. Steam rice is $1.50 per bowl. It was enough food for the 4 of us with leftovers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is an open kitchen where you can see the expert dumpling makers apply their craft. The XLB is very well crafted, consistent thin skin even at the top.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But next time, I would skip the expensive soup dumplings (maybe it is cheaper if no crab?) and stick with the classics. There was a small annoyance with one of our waiters, who repeatedly asked me in broken english that he wanted his tip in cash (once I produced a credit card to pay). I can think of a couple of reasons why he would want this, none of them deserving more elaboration (better not to know I think). So final thought is that it is a good restaurant, but with multitude of great chinese restaurants in the SGV area for better prices, it wouldn't be a place to go out of the way for (like what we did here)
When it comes to xiao long bao, this is the place I want to come to fulfill my cravings. Their sweet pork xiao long bao is very savory and it's my favorite. I could finish all 10 pieces myself :) I also like their pot stickers, beef noodles, etc... food here is great! Service can be more attentive. We had to flag the server down for ice water and extra napkins. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tips: their bathroom stinks like if you're in a Seward. Avoid if all possible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would come back for the food and I have recommended this place to friends and strangers on other social media sites when looking for a good xiao long bao place that is not overrated like DTF.
So excited to finally get to eat giant XLBs locally in the 626! The chef here hails from Shanghai and you can definitely taste the authenticity he endorses despite the slight Wuxi fusion influence. This jumbo sized crab and pork bun is simply delectable! Unlike Array 36, this place uses real crab meat in the fillings & it's obvious. I'm already planning another visit to have this even though my friends and I each got our own, I need moreee! The beef rolls are pretty tasty, the regular XLBs are great, the garlic cucumbers are excellent. However, didn't really personally like the pork wonton soup. The color and the thickness just wasn't as magical. The place is pretty big, but this plaza has been kind of emptier than usual as of late & they can use some extra business. I think the service could've been better since we were rushed from the get go. I think the owner was much more pleasant and willing to chat about the her background and history of the restaurant.
This place used to be my favorite xiao long bao dim sum spot. I even gave it a 5 star a year ago due to its authenticity and great taste. Returning visit after 1 year, it almost felt like a different restaurant. I even took my old mother with me this time cuz she wanted to taste authentic Chinese food after being away from home for so many years. The meat in the xiao long bao wasn't fresh, it was heavily salty. The service was abysmal. When we got in the shop, the server explicitly asked for us to pay in cash. I was like no problem as long as the food is good, don't embarrass me in front of my mum. When the food finally was ready, we realized that the table and the plates weren't properly cleaned so we asked for another wipe and set. Even with such horrible food and service, my mother still insisted tipping the mean waiter. Ironically, the waiter came back and asked for more tip. That's such a shameless act!!! You see my old mother reaching into her wallet counting more money just because she felt obligated to tip more because the waiter asked. I took her out of there immediately. And you could even hear the waiter complain after we reached the door. I also told them that it's illegal to ask for tip like that especially after the July 1 no hidden fee legislation. They also can't charge a mandatory % of tips anymore (even though I know my mum always tip over 15%). It's a disaster. Do not recommend whatsoever. With horrible service and food, the ambiance also turned quite boisterous.
BALDWIN PARK LOCATION!!!! Hot and Spicy Noodle Soup. Rate that a 2. It was very minty, or whatever that herb was. Just wasn't it. Flavor was just off. Beef and cumin sauce plate. 2 star rating. It tastes like they threw taco seasonings. Weird. 10/10 white rice. That is all. Maybe I just ordered the wrong plates, I don't know. First time having it, I was not impressed. Thumbs down :,(
The restaurant is upstairs in the 99 ranch plaza. Plenty of parking especially since they are renovating the whole plaza right now. It is spacious inside with the usual service you get at Chinese restaurants. The giant soupy crab dumpling was delicious. The skin is thin and you get a straw to sip the soup out of the dumpling. The spicy beef noodle sure has a kick in the mala way. My mouth was on fire and it was so spicy my lips were tingling. The spicy wontons was so good. Again a bit of the mala spice but what I liked most about it is that the dumpling itself was seasoned perfectly and went great with the spicy soup. The noodle and the pork which that region is known for were also both fantastic. Overall the meal was great all around. The flavors of every dish I ordered was spot on and I'd definitely go back again. One star down because they didn't serve tea which was odd.
Another Dumpling house on my list. Long Xing Li is a favorite for many, so i had to give them a visit. I got a table right next to the big kitchen window, so I could see all the delicious dumplings being made. What a great spot to sit. My three go-to's are XLB (Soup Dumplings), Spicy Wontons and Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Getting started with the soup dumplings, once you order, they are quick to bring out plenty of ginger so you can mix your sauce. These are some of the best I've had. They are full of tasty soup, the skin was light and the filling is flavorful. The Spicy Wantons are excellent - plentiful and large. I usually finish off an order of Wontons but there were too many here (Take home!) The Hot & Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (#25) is actually very spicy. It's the first time in recent memory, where I did not need to add chili oil. In addition to the heat, the soup is loaded with delicious noodles and beef. Not the most tender in the world but definitely good and flavorful. The service here is very friendly and kind. I will definitely be coming back again.
This is the largest steamed soup dumpling I've ever seen. It has park and real crab meat stuffed inside. They even give me a straw for the soup dumpling. Very flavorful and juicy. Definitely a good comforting food when it's a cloudy weather like today!! Quick customer service, very friendly. Specious and clean dining area. Food is delivered in a timely manner. This is THE place for fist sized XLB! We got the: 1) Pan Fried Pot Stickers (10 pieces) -Decent amount of pork filling. Not too salty, moist. -Slight crispy edges. Only a bit disappointed since I wanted those pan fried pork stickers with the extra crispy pan skin attached. 2) Xiao Long Bao: -We got their non-sweet pork filling. (9 pieces) -They weren't lying when they said this was non-sweet, as the pan fried pot stickers were sweeter with their meat filling. -Decent amount of soup inside, not too hot. 3) Juicy Pork & Crab Bun: -The only reason I ordered from here was to get this jumbo juicy pork and crab bun as I have only seen those giant dumplings "buns" before on social media and wanted to try. -It's definitely juicy and the shape of the dumpling is that of the container it's in. -Comes with a generous amount of golden crab soup and some pork meat inside (same as the other stuff that we ordered). If you're not a fan of seafood, this might not be for you since the crab flavor is pretty strong. -Very thin skin, it's not bad but it's obviously for novelty sake more than anything. Overall not bad. There's definitely better dumpling places out there, but not lots of them let you order a dumpling larger than your fist!

Really enjoyed this place! We ordered a bunch of dishes and honestly everything was good. My favorites were the crispy eel, stuffed gluten with pork, pork & crab soup dumplings, and the pickled vegetables with edamame and tofu skin. The crispy eel was super crunchy and flavorful, and probably the standout for me. The spicy pig kidney was also really good and had a nice kick. We also got the pork belly fried rice, which was simple but very comforting and tasty. Finished with the rice balls in sweet fermented rice wine soup for dessert and loved that too. Everything tasted authentic and well made, and we left very satisfied. Would definitely come back! read more

Really enjoyed everything we ordered! The crab roe soup dumpling was so juicy and flavorful -- definitely eat it hot and sip the soup first. The crab xiaolongbao had a thin skin and lots of crab flavor, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. The Wuxi-style pork ribs were tender and perfectly sweet-savory. The shepherd's purse rice cakes were chewy and comforting, and the curry beef glass noodle soup tasted just like the Xiao Yang Sheng Jian takeout I used to get in China. So good with the dumplings! Definitely worth trying if you like Jiangnan-style Chinese food! read more

My sister wanted the egg, so we stopped by hehe. Tried this place multiple times before and still good. Ordered: juicy pork xiao long bao- hot and juicy and delicious! juicy pork and shrimp xiao long bao- hot and juicy and delicious! House Spareribs noodle soup- always craving noodle soup any time of day and weather hehe. mmm mmm good! Noodle in sesame sauce (dry noodles with peanuts)- a bit heavy on the peanut and sesame sauce but still really good. silver fish in steamed egg- very hot, little fishes at the very bottom. *** CASH ONLY *** This restaurant used to be called Wang Xing Ji and came here back in September 2013, but they changed the name to Long Xing Ji in Jan 2016 with everything else (decor and menu) remained the same. I was originally planning to visit somewhere else for Sunday night dinner, but my friend tricked me and made me pick a restaurant with 5 PM closing time. So I ended up coming here since my friend was dying to have juicy pork dumplings (XLB). The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the 99 Ranch Plaza (aka the Focus Plaza that will soon be rebranded as TAWA Gateway - https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-12-04/businesses-inside-chinese-disneyland-mall-in-san-gabriel-valley-face-uncertain-future) in San Gabriel. [Parking]: Fairly straightforward and easy parking thanks to the huge parking lot. [Setting]: The restaurant was half empty when our party arrived at 5:45 PM and we were able to get a table immediately. Similar to Ding Tai Fung, there's a transparent window showing employees folding XLB. [Menu]: They got a laminated ordering sheet with marker and a separate laminated menu with pictures on popular items (pictures were very helpful). The restaurant is best known for giant/jumbo juicy pork & crab bun (or giant soup dumpling - #12). Most of items here mirror other Northern Chinese restaurants with dumplings, noodles, and various wok dishes. *** #40 Beef Roll ($10.99): It was not as good as the one from Mr Dragon Noodle House in Rosemead. #35 Pan Fried Fish Wonton (10 pieces - $13.99): Wontons were nicely fried and they tasted better than I thought. *** A solid 3.5-star on food, but bump down due to average service. read more
I don't know why this place isn't busier. Low key delicious xlbs. We weren't very hungry but we wound up eating two rounds of xlbs and their house spare ribs. Everything is so delicious. The skin was thin and delicate. To eat carefully transport the dumpling from the steamer to the soup spoon using chopsticks. Carefully take a bite off the top to let the steam out. Pour a little bit of vinegar and take a little ginger on top. Wait a little bit then eat it! All the flavorful soup will be captured by the spoon this way. Enjoy! read more

At the time of this writing, this restaurant is now fully open in Baldwin Park!! (Second week of opening). I was informed that they are currently trying to get Google to update the address etc. New address is 1628 Puente Ave, Baldwin Park. Next to Orchid Thai restaurant. They are open until 9 pm everyday as of this writing. The food is just as good as I remembered it from the original location. Ordered the pork wonton soup, pork dumplings, and their signature juicy pork & crab bun. Very filling, flavorful, and packed full of meat! Prices are reasonable for what you get. Let me be clear; you will generally not be disappointed if you order any of the dumpling dishes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was also very clean, and the staff was friendly as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is truly an oasis of real asian food in Baldwin Park, and just as tasty, or even better than what you can find at Haven City Market. If Din Tai Fung is too far for you, this is also a great choice for freshly made dumplings. Very affordable too! Highly recommended to visit for lunch/dinner. read more

Like many patrons, I came for the Shanghai Restaurant next door that recently closed and settled for this dumpling house. XLB were surprisingly good! The A-Choy was over boiled and very oily. The greens mixed was tasteless and very oily also. The beef wrap was okay but lacked flavor. They did not have hot tea so they gave me cup of hot water. There was a reason why this place was never busy when I walked by all These years. read more
Came for their jumbo sized juicy crab and pork dumpling and it was a pretty unique experience. The dumpling was as big as a dim sum container and the skin was thick with lots of crab and pork filling inside. They gave us a boba straw which we used to suck the soup out. We basically had to disassemble the giant dumpling but it was pretty tasty. I still prefer the regular XLBs over this giant one but it was fun to try. We also tried their fried eel, pan fried fish wontons, house ribs, and the regular crab and pork XLB. The house ribs were very flavorful and the fried eel was really good and as crispy as a chip. Their dumplings are pretty juicy and taste decent. I would recommend this spot if you want dumplings and other unique Chinese dishes. Their jumbo crab and pork dumpling is a one and done experience but it was very cool and fun to try. read more
4+ located on the second floor of a strip mall/plaza on a busy street where I think there is a treasure trove of Asian food in the San Gabriel area. This place is known for their giant pork and crab soup dumplings. At least that's how it got on my radar and why I bookmarked it. I came here on a weeknight early dinner time so the place was not busy at all. I sat down and was able to order it right away, using a small right on menu, similar to what dim sum places have. The place overall feels really legit. I ordered the: beef roll, the large pork/ crab soup dumpling, and pork belly fried rice. Both the beef raw, and the fried rice were delicious. The beef roll had a nice crisp to it, and a good flavor from the cilantro and onion. The texture was on point. The fried rice was pretty standard, which was a great thing. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I ended up taking most of this food home for leftovers. I just wanted to try them. And I wanted to make sure I had enough room to eat the large dumpling... Now I wasn't sure on what the proper way to eat this large dumpling was, but this is how I did it: 1- with the provided straw, I poked into the dumpling using the sharp end and drank the soup. I did it slowly because it is hot. Also, I would take out the straw and insert in different areas to drink the soup as it was too tough to get all in on one place. 2- as a soup ran low I would start chopping up the dumpling into smaller bite-size pieces. I would then take those pieces and put them into the soup spoon. 3- for each bite size piece I put into the soup spoon, I put a few dashes of the vinegar on top to my liking. Rinse and repeat. I was a big fan of that soup dumpling, and would love to come back. The service was pretty standard and it was straight to the point which I appreciated. They were quick on getting the check and my to go boxes. Once I packed up, I was on my way. It was fun getting to see through the window while the folks were prepping the dumplings. read more

I'm giving 5 stars, this juice pork and crab ENORMOUS dumpling was amazing. It was so flavorful. Just yes. Their green beans were just as delightful. I don't know how I missed the big dunking when I came the first time. read more
Came for a lunch with my family. Flavors are authentic, but the quality and presentation of the food is a bit lacking. Fish and bok choy looked and tasted like something my dad could easily cook at home for much cheaper, and the shrimp was a tad overcooked. They do have the big XLB, which is super fun to eat--you get straws to drink the soup with, and then you can cut up the bun afterwards! Overall okay, you won't be wowed but not terrible. read more

Definitely one in the books!! The food here was AMAZING!! If you want some authentic dim sum then this would be a place to go. The dim sum was delicious, as well as the spare ribs. The ribs literally was tender, flavorful and it came off the bone easily. The cucumber garlic was had a good balance of white vinegar and garlic. The fried rice was different but was on point with the pork belly. The ambiance was very traditional in what you would seen in a Chinese restaurant. It was small but simple. The service wasn't too bad. You just had to call your waiter if you need to place the order or need the check. read more
I would say this small restaurant is a big competitor of Din Tai Fung. Their Juicy dumplings are more juicier and succulent. These were featured by Mark Wiens, an American travel and food blogger, vlogger, YouTube personality, television host, and restaurateur based in Bangkok, Thailand. Wow holy crap do not come here. So disappointed as we had good experiences previously. Wtf happened? First off it was dead on a Friday night during dinner time so you know something's wrong. We ordered 3 dishes and they managed to mess up on all 3. The Xiao long bao was whack af. The meat inside was like hard and there was no soup at all. The Wuxi sparerib was overly salty and slim on the meat. Like they used to use a diff cut of the rib. The spicy wontons were also terrible. It had a rotten odor to it and I'm not talkin bout fermented bean curd here. Did I mention it was like $70?! The hell is going on. The service was snappy so I give them 2 stars for that. But seriously ridiculous here. SGV ain't what it used to be. read more
Took the family here over Xmas break for a week day lunch. All the family members thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Prices are reasonable and the flavors are rich without much saltiness. We ordered the xiao long bao, seaweed appetizer, tofu skin/edamame plate, potstickers, onion pancake, and the beef noodle soup. Portions are generous. The facade of this little gem is barely seen from the parking lot, hidden behind a pillar...all I saw were the words juicy dumplings in English. I dragged my mom who originally wanted to eat at the big signature restaurant in this same mega mall. So glad she's so adventurous. Service 5/5...friendly efficient can't answer questions in English, Mandarin only...oh ok, so a true culinary adventure. Just point at the menu and pray. The XLB is made to order and you can watch them make them though a big window looking into the kitchen. That's so cool. And each morsel is a work of art...just beautfully and speedily made. Wow. The pork dumplings are pan seared on one side...with a surprise of black sesame seeds on the underside, so good. Just look at the pics and your mouth will say let's go to the place that makes such subtle and beautiful fried dumplings. Moms vegetarian won ton soup...she loved ut...huge and generously filled pillows of spinach...and al kinda creamy looking pork broth. We went to eat at Long Xing Ji in San Gabriel. The restaurant is in a plaza that's still under construction, making it a bit tricky to find, especially since the name is in Chinese and somewhat obscured by the building structure. The place is quiet with a few people but not empty. We ordered the famous jumbo xiao long bao, which was perfect for our tastebuds, and the house spareribs, which arrived quickly within 5 minutes. The xiao long bao took a bit longer. The staff is nice, and the place is beautiful. P.S. To make it easier to find, it's beside Tofu House on the 2nd floor, right above Golden Vision on the 1st floor. read more

You can buy frozen, but call ahead. Lately, they have making it to order.
Will I be able to try the XLB or other dumplings if I go at dinner? Some places run out. ??
They have never ran out. In fact, you can order to take home to steam yourself. I am not a fan of the large one except it's great in photos. I like the sweet xlb and the wushi ribs (forget the name).
