We had the Tower 4 pizza and the Great white pizza both Detroit style and it was DELICIOUS!! They service was pretty quick considering it's made when you order and very friendly. This restaurant is a tad out of my area. It is also in an area that you wouldn't expect. It's way out there. My girlfriends and I went here to get some lunch. It is order at the front and they give you a number and bring you your food. They were very friendly. The menu was easy to order from and there is so much food to choose from. We got three things. The burrata and tomatoes, strawberry salad, and a Detroit pizza. The one with three meats. We got the 6 slices and it was plenty for the three of us. We absolutely demolished the salad and burrata. Both of those were absolutely delicious. It is a definite get for anyone not sure on what to order. The pizza wasn't bad. Wasn't something that I was super impressed with, but it was good. We also went to the froyo place that is attached. The amount of toppings that they have is ridiculous. So many to choose from. We were fat and happy after we left. Great flavor. We always do the 'build your own'. The calzones are great. The normal and gluten free pizzas are good. Sometimes the mushrooms aren't quite cooked as well as we like, but the toppings are fairly plentiful. This time I tried the half-bonfire for the first time. It's 8"x8" and on really thick crust similar to garlic bread. It was enough for dinner and lunch the next day, which is appreciated since it is $20. read more

The first thing to know about the place is that if you were thinking New England-style Beach pizza is what this restaurant serves, this isn't it. That was my first confusion, "beach fired pizza" is just a branding element tied to the Longboard name. They make traditional and Detroit-style pizzas. As for that, the regular pizza with the spicy red sauce is delicious. Some of the pizza toppings needed some love, as they tasted like they'd come out of a jar, with that overt saltiness that comes from something that's been brined. I didn't try the Detroit-style, but visually, the cheese crust appears to be cooked correctly. It's an Italian-American thing, I notice this stuff. They've a unique self-serve beer tap system, and good beer, especially when served self-serve, is an automatic extra star for me. Upon showing ID, customers receive a specialty wristband that allows them to pour their own selection from a rotating variety of craft beers, wines, and potentially batched cocktails, paying by the ounce. I like the "pour-your-own" concept because it offers variety and eliminates wait times at a traditional bar. The system is cool, but it takes some time to get it working (e.g., you expect that if you tap on the bottom of the arrow that says "tap here," it will start the pour, but the arrow points at a nondescript, unlabelled sensor below the counter, that seemed not to work upon initial attempts). They also didn't clearly mark which glasses were clean and which were dirty. Bottom line, put up a fricken sign. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance at Longboards Pizza & Beer presents a mixed impression. The interior is spacious, which is beneficial for groups, but it lacks the atmosphere of a restaurant; it's almost sterile--a lot of white and a lot of open space without a distinct character. It's not a fun, party beach vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is connected to a self-serve yogurt place, so I'll have to try that next. read more

This place is fairly new to the area, but we have been there 4 times already. The rectangular deep dish pizza is absolutely amazing! All pizzas can be ordered with an original red sauce or an original spicy red sauce. Spicy is our go to. We also ask for some additional sauce on top. I have read a number of reviews about this place and want you all to know that all new businesses will have growing pains. We learned a little something every time we have went. For instance the deep dish pizza comes a little light on sauce unless you request extra sauce on top. You can even request a side of sauce to dip into. The original red spicy is phenomenal! Don't be fooled that pizza is all they have to offer. The prime rib sandwich is stellar! As are the wings (Thai peanut is awesome) Alea made sure that our pizza order was made exactly how we wanted it! Great job!!!! Don't get me wrong - this area really needed a new restaurant, but Longboards missed the mark. To start off, there are only teens working and it was our first time (and same with the others in front of us) no one was explaining how the ordering and everything worked. Everyone was standing around lost not knowing where to pay, when to go get the drink, etc. We opted to get the large deep dish pizza and the price was crazy - $45, though thankfully we had leftovers. There is a self server beer tap system which is kind of cool but 2 beers came to $18. The beer glasses were barely clean which is crazy for an establishment with a brand new dishwasher. And when we grabbed silverware they were questionable too. The pizza was decent enough but I would opt for only takeout in the future. A bummer because we live right down the street and would love to find a spot to frequent weekly. $70+ for dinner without table service or someone else pouring your drink is just ridiculous. read more

Came here with high expectations but unfortunately it was a disappointment. We started with a strawberry and spinach salad. The dressing was very bitter. Then our first pizza came - it was dry with very little sauce. 20 minutes later, our second pizza arrived (ordered at the same time). It was good except that we had asked for no artichokes and they were still there. 45 minutes later, I had to go ask for the "pizza points" that we had ordered.
