If you live in the Treasure Valley, and enjoy going out to eat, and haven't been to Italianesque, then you are missing something special. This is more true if you live in Nampa, and this situation applied to my wife and I prior to yesterday. Don't be put off by it's location. Yes, this spot does not seem like a place where you would find a great eating establishment, but based upon our experience, that should be at the bottom of the list of concerns. The vibe of the place represents it's truth. Italianesque feels like a family run restaurant, run by people who enjoy what they do. That's because that is exactly what it is. There is no corporate mood or tone here, but rather it feels like friends wanting to run a neighborhood restaurant with all the good things that go with providing that kind of service to the local community. I'd recommend getting a reservation if you want to dine inside, but we failed to do that last night and the tables were full at 5:00pm on a Thursday. That's a pretty good signal that Italianesque has something good going on. Our experience was five-stars across the board. We ate on the patio which was pleasant in the shade, and the soft breeze felt nice in the informal al fresco environment. The service was excellent. Paula was a delight, and the other servers were all super friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed our specialty cocktails as our food was being prepared, and we enjoyed the appetizer special. The single word I would describe our dinner entrées would be "Wow". I had the spicy Cajun Seafood Linguini, and it was truly delicious. So full of flavor! We ended our meal with a slice of Key Lime Pie which did not disappoint. My opinion is that Italian food should be zesty and bold, cooked with passion and served with a smile. Italianesque delivered. If you enjoy bland Italian cooking, or just an average meal, there are plenty of other places you can go to. We'll be back to Italianesque, because there were many other things on the menu that I really want to try. read more

Tucked back in a mall type area. Definitely should plan ahead and get reservations. Not because busy but they actually save tables for those that do. The appetizer bread is good but not $10 good 6 for the bread and a bowl of olive oil is $4 with seasonings. For 4 slices of bread. I expected like a loaf for that. I got the pappardelle bolognese with a meatball, a 3 oz dry meatball not worth the up charge. . And friend got Alfredo was also good just a little soupy. The quality and flavor of the food is out of this world! What a gem of a little restaurant just off the freeway in Nampa. Had the privilege of meeting the owner and she was very pleasant. Stumbled on this spot when coming from a doctors appointment. Its hidden in the back corner of the shopping campus which was easy to find. What a great family run restaurant! The anbience was very clean and professional with a nice italian flair. The service impeccable, I sat at the bar waiting for takeout and the bar tender never let my water get half empty. When they say they make their noodles here fresh, they are not kiddin! These were very tasty and the texture was on point! We ordered the fettucune alfredo with chicken and the spicy mac and cheese(it had a little spiciness compared to tobasco). The chicken wasn't anything fancy but grilled to perfection with a nice sear. Both sauces were very rich and flavorful and we could only eat half of each of the portions because it was so filling! I am jealous Nampa has such an Italian gem but glad they are only 15 minutes away. We will def be back to dine in sometime in the future! read more

My socks blew off and jaw hit the floor here. Walking in, there was beautiful low light, intimate, comfortable ambiance. The service was soft, kind, and attentive. Their booster seat was clean and strapped to the chair securely. They even provided a toddler table setting with a sippy cup. I've never had such accommodation for my daughter before. The food menu is smaller than most, but with purpose. Everything is homemade and of the highest quality. We ordered the special, chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, broccolini, focaccia bread, and tiramisu. Everything was a solid 10/10. Best Italian food we've ever had. Not to mention, I ordered a chai latte and it too was the best I've ever had, and I regular several treasure valley coffee shops. We will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know, bring family here, and regular from now on. read more

Ate with a party of 6 which included 2 children under the age of 4. Super accommodating. They set a special place for each child complete with a placemat, kids cup, kids plate and flatware. A delicious selection of well prepared Italian food. We were disappointed the pizza oven was not in operation. We had the Bolognese, clam linguine, Cajun seafood linguine, and the roasted vegetables. It would've been nice to have a couple more salad selections. Overall, all the food was quite good. The Bolognese sauce did not taste traditional, but it was still OK. The Cajun seafood linguine could've used more shrimp and salmon. The amount of Italian spicy sausage was OK. The service was very efficient and not interrupting our meal which was delightful. The food here was amazing. Homemade pasta sauce is made on site. If you have not been here, you need to go. Looks like a hole in the wall. It is anything but a hole in the wall. I can't say enough about the raviolis and there was only four of them, but I'm a big guy, but I was full, especially with the bread and the pie. The drink was amazing. the Wife had the spicy mac & cheese and it was fantastic. We were told they make all their own pasta in house. you should call for reservations. Walking in, the place was bustling with couples and families both. They do take reservations but we sat at the bar. It's a small place that makes food fresh so they can run out of certain dishes the later it gets. We started off with the artichoke Asiago dip with fresh baked focaccia bread. Great cheesy flavor with garlic popping in every once in a while. Next, for me, was the homemade lasagna made in individual tins not the bulk mess of chain restaurants. The flavors were amazing and the layers each had their moment on the stage with every bite. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo in a traditional Italian sauce. It's a thinner sauce that has a TON of cheesy flavor without all of the bulk of the thick sauces. The noodles were also fresh and very tender and not mushy. We capped off dinner by sharing a piece of homemade tiramisu. It's was delicious, with every bite you could taste each layer all the way down to the coffee and cookie at the bottom. The smell of coffee was enough to make us also order a hot cappuccino which paired very well with the dessert. Overall the ambience was that of an Italian home. With fresh ingredients, traditional style recipes, family pictures on the wall, open kitchen concept, friendly, eager to help staff, all the way down to food being served on china dishes like you were at your Nonna's house. read more

I had such high hopes for being at a restaurant that made fresh pasta every day. Perhaps I came at an off night. My ravioli was tough, not tender, with squash that was slightly crunchy, and a pile of cheese on the side of the plate. The brown butter sauce was slightly broken. I ordered a side of meatball for $5 which I asked to be put on a separate dish so I wouldn't be set in the brown butter sauce. Unfortunately the small $5 meatball was set in the brown butter sauce. It was overcooked, so also tough. The meatball comes with no sauce so I asked for a small dish of marinara. They brought a dish overfilled with marinara. My dinner guest said it was probably because they will charge me $5 for the sauce. They charged me $4, so she was almost right. The gelato cake is described as 3" cake, 2 layers gelato, but apparently according to the server actually contains no cake at all, but they do charge $12 for the no cake, cake. Out of towners, visiting Nampa. I decided on Italian food for dinner. At home we have one of the best Italian restaurant ever, so this place had big shoes to fill. Beings I found this restaurant in the review category of fine dining section, I was hoping I found a gold nugget. The location is in the new sugar district for those local to the area. We didn't have reservations and opted to sit outside. It was a beautiful evening, so that was perfect for us. We arrived around 7:30 pm and the sun wasn't an issue. There were about six tables outside and were spaced well enough that you weren't too close to other patrons. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were promptly seated and water was at our table almost immediately. Our server was friendly and prompt as well. We both ordered a glass of wine and decided on the focaccia bread as an appetizer. One thing different here, is you have to pay for the bread, at home it's complimentary, so that was different AND they charge you for olive and (balsamic) wasn't on the menu, but the server provided some to us with our $3.00 portion of olive oil for dipping. The bread was absolutely delicious! This made me excited for our entrees. Those weren't too far behind, which was surprising as lasagna normally has a bit of a wait. They use the same sauce for the lasagna as they do for the bolognese Papperdelle entree. My dish was good, not great and my husband's lasagna was not cold but not piping hot like it should be and it was just ok, according to him. I really wanted to give this place a better rating, but I just wasn't wowed by the food. If I was rating service, they get a five star for that. read more

My son asked for the best Italian food in the valley to celebrate his birthday when he came to town. I searched high and low through multiple online sources and Italianesque was at the top of most lists. It's important to note they serve by reservation only so prepare in advance. It's obvious why...this is an experience not a restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted when we arrived and charmed by the simple yet charming interior with vintage plates and silver flatware. You are warned in the menu that everything takes time because all food is freshly prepared...and they live up to their own hype. Service is friendly but very infrequent; thankfully room temperature water is on table to keep up with refreshment, you are limited to 2 soda refills only. Ordered the cheesy focaccia bread which was wonderful, only wished that the cheese was melted more to hold on to the bacon and onions. Alfredo dipping sauce is a combo worth trying to dip bread in. They use Asiago cheese in their Alfredo here, so it has a slight tang and different texture. We ordered the meat lovers pizza, lasagna, shrimp Alfredo and pesto. Pesto has seeds which my daughter wasn't fond of. Son said his Alfredo was delectable and shrimp was perfectly cooked. Lasagna was a stacked crispy pasta between layers of chunky sauce and oozing cheese! Pizza is literally hand tossed (you can watch them toss the dough!) with spicy pepperonis and sausage. Food is reasonably priced with a slight nod to the higher side on some items but worth every penny. Best part? Son said it was one of his most favorite dinners ever and I'm so grateful for the experience. read more

The owners keep all the tips and pay the staff a 'higher wage'. To me this is wrong. The extra tips after the higher wage, the owners keep. Tips should go to servers, not the owners. We just left our grandsons T-ball game and wanted to get dinner before heading home. We did a quick search for restaurants in the area and my wife said "Italian sounds good". From the moment we walked in to the end of the evening we were truly impressed with every aspect of the restaurant, meal, service and ambiance. Looking for a local restaurant when out running errands - oh my WOW!!! Charming decor with antique/vintage mahogany tables, food served on vintage china with vintage flatware. Food was delicious!!! We had the two vegan dishes -radiatori primavera and trottole pesto. Such awesome flavors in both dishes. The veggies in the primavera were roasted and crunchy and soft at the same time - perfection! The pasta is homemade, soft and chewy, just the right texture! The pesto sauce was heavenly. We had planned to eat only half our dish and take the rest home for tomorrow's lunch. The flavors were so good I t was hard to stop halfway through the dish. This will be our favorite Italian restaurant and one to which we will take friends. read more

We quite enjoyed our Tuesday night dinner here at Italianesque. The start was a bit weird. I was a bit put off by the "all by itself in a deserted shopping center" location. We walked in to an empty restaurant (5PM on a weekday not too out of the ordinary) and were asked for our phone number by the hostess. I politely asked why, and she said in case we leave something behind. I thought that was odd. We were seated and that was the end of the weirdness. The food was phenomenal. We had the focaccia with marinara and Alfredo because I had to try both sauces. Both were unique- the Alfredo was thin and peppery, the marinara was garlic-heavy and chunky in a great way. We had the special which was a pasta with lions mane mushroom, sausage, shrimp, and a white sauce. It was a decent sized portion and bursting with flavor. We also had the mushroom pizza which was just the right size for dinner. Our server told us some people order a pizza to share as an appetizer. Service was attentive, the food was out at a reasonable pace, and we left full and happy! I'd highly recommend trying them out if you like Italian, don't let the big empty shopping center scare you away. read more

Everything about this place is 10 stars! First, the atmosphere is very nice without being stuffy. The service was outstanding and personable. Our waiter was attentive but not over the top and everyone that served our table was professional but also warm and friendly. Second, ALL the food is made fresh and you can really tell. We ordered salad and focaccia bread to start along with non alcoholic mule drinks. The bread was fresh, marinara sauce warm and salad and drinks very good. For the main course we had AMAZING ravioli in a brown butter sauce and equally awesome chicken fettuccine. My husband wouldn't even share the fettuccine and I felt the same about my ravioli :-) For dessert we ordered key lime pie and a dish of spumoni gelato. Both were exceptional. Nice people, accommodating but the food is absolutely not Italian. Large quantities, not tasty, spices randomly used thrown on stuff with no purpose.
