4.5- 7/26/26. I heard the ads and had to swing by and try it! Didn't know what the habanero consisted of but I was pleasantly happy with the pie! I only got a 1 heat or maybe it's 1 habanero on the pizza, either way it was plenty! Wow it spiced up that pizza! I was curious and scared with every bite! I had ranch and all the sauces on standby to put out the flames. Seriously a great pizza to try, she said she does cream cheese and something else also so I'll have to try that next time. I liked how she was honest, she was short staffed and as I walked in there was no more inside dining just take out. She didn't want to risk her service being bad and I love when someone is honest and makes those kinds of calls. We took our pizza home and enjoyed it just as much! Flying Pie is a hometown Boise pizza company who has been one of the best and most creative pizzerias around. The pizza is excellent. The "contest combo" has so many fresh and authentic toppings and is loaded. The Stromboli with the sourdough crust is so balanced and delicious. It will absolutely surprise you. The Hawaiian with smoked Gouda....the list goes on. What was disappointing about this location this week is that my family went in at about 8:30 with a group after a night of kids baseball and softball games. They were told they had to call ahead and make reservations. They offered to split up and sit down. They were told that the two people up front were going home in 30 minutes. It was 2 1/2 hours before closing. There is no signage about the dining room closing early. The employee up front was extremely rude. The manager was not able to make the situation better and the employee continued to yell even when other customers were at the counter. One customer came up and said they couldn't believe what had happened. My family left. We are huge fans of flying pie, but it's more than just the great pizza, it needs to be a place where families can walk in and be treated with kindness and respect. So tonight we gathered at a different pizzeria and the contrast was big. They were accommodating and patient and we enjoyed being together and having the space and time we wanted. Flying Pie may be the best pizza in town. I'm hopeful they rectify the issues my family faced and are more welcoming and communicate better. read more

My order was good, but it ended up at the wrong location, so I had to make a trek to pick up the pizza. The lounge area was surprisingly empty for Valentine's Day, but the restaurant was quite clean. They even have old-school video games. The chicken barbecue pizza was enjoyable, but the breadsticks were unusual and not to my liking. I enjoy coming here with a larger group. There is a lot of space to spread out, be loud and not feel rushed like someone is eyeballing you for your table. Service is consistent and while sometimes I am confused if there is actually table service or not, they come through with great table service. No beer list so make sure you eyeball the beers on tap as you walk in, tons of non-alcohol options too and of course, a huge menu of excellent pizza and non-pizza options. When we come with a large group, they never have an issue with split tabs, we always tell them upfront so they know. Not only is this location great for groups, it is extra great if a few of your members are kids. If they are old enough, there is a small arcade in the back to keep the attention of the young ones while the adults mingle. If you don't want to utilize the arcade, it is still a great dinner spot because kids can wallow around a bit more at the tables since there is a ton of space for everyone. Always a great choice for pizza, mingling, and relaxing, bigger group or not. read more

On Friday evening at 8:30 PM, our family of 14 arrived for dinner. We were immediately greeted by an employee who was surprisingly rude. When asked how many people were in our group, we replied that we had between 15-20. She abruptly told us that we needed to call ahead for reservations. We've visited before--just last month at the same time with the same number of people--and had no issue being seated or served. She then stated that they only had two staff members working and that they were off in 30 minutes, despite your posted hours showing the restaurant is open until 11 PM. Based on the employee's attitude and unwillingness to accommodate us, we decided not to dine there. We asked to speak with the manager, and while we were explaining what happened, the same employee continued to interrupt us, raising her voice over another customer at the counter and denying that she had been rude. She then began saying "Bye bye bye, you can leave now," in an extremely unprofessional tone. We've always enjoyed Flying Pie Pizza, but this experience left us disappointed and disheartened. We hope this isn't a reflection of how large groups or customers in general will be treated going forward. read more

I don't understand the other reviews saying how good this pizza is. That was not our experience. The pizza was awful - flavorless and barely cooked. We ordered delivery, and this was our first experience with this place,m. I have to say our first impression was not good. The order and delivery was fine. We ordered the 12" sourdough Zambini and a 10" gluten free Vegetarian with added garlic chicken. This all arrived in a timely matter and was accurate, BUT both pizzas appeared as though the crusts were cooked, but the toppings were not not (excluding the meats). The veggies, olives, mushrooms, etc were all cold and crunchy. For example, the zucchini, olives and mushrooms were as raw as of they were in a salad. Nothing had that lovely crispy edge or golden toasted cheese. It was more like a salad dumped on a pre made crust. No flavor in the sauce, crust or anything else. Waste of money. For decades Flying Pie flew with just three restaurants, Fairview Avenue, State Street and a hole-in-the-wall on Broadway that later closed. With the opening of the new location at Five Mile and Overland, the Valley's leading pizzeria now has six restaurants. The company spent a reported $1 million remodeling two spaces at the Elms Park Shopping Center. It's an interesting decor: 1950's-style brown pleated banquettes around the perimeter and stylistic painting above them. The pizza was as good as their other locations. Our server was friendly and attentive. The staff was wearing gloves. It would have been nice if the kitchen staff was wearing gloves. read more

We've been going to flying pie since we were kids in the 80s. Moved and the most convenient location is now meridian. It is the most disorganized restaurant we've ever ate at. Last night was our 3rd attempt. Both pizzas were undercooked after waiting an hour even though they were delivered to the table 10 minutes apart. Next summer we week drive the extra 8 miles and go to the original location on fairview for our hab fix. read more

I've loved flying pie at various locations for 20+ years! In my experience , pizza is Yummo, lots of toppings and we'll baked - and staff are peppy and fun. Great pizzeria experience. BUT - ordering for delivery is a nope. I don't order pizzas often so I don't know when the change occurred but the experience of the automated system was really frustrating. TWICE the system said "system error" and disconnected, after the order was totally complete and I was waiting for my confirmation. The third time I called, I said "speak with with a person"and it transferred me to what appears to be an Outsourced call center - assumably related to the ordering system. The agent on the phone asked how he could help and I began to order my pizza when he said "one moment I will transfer you to an agent". Then a transfer to what I assume was the store, which rang 9 times before it cut me off. Long story short, after 24 minutes I just couldn't bring myself to a 4th call so we just called Idaho Pizza company. Listen , outsourcing is a thing, this is not a political rant by any means. Makes sense to large corporations like banks etc - But if you tout yourself as practically an institution in Boise, I don't expect to feel like I just called centurylink customer service. Disappointed. They get 3 stars instead of the 1 star I would give it were my very first experience because I ASSUME they still have yummy pizzas, but I wouldn't know. read more

Well, flying pie, you are my favorite pizza place in Boise. ( Sorry Guido's and Zeeks You're both pretty close. ). That said we got pizza last night on the way home. We ordered take out via the web we arrived to the store. Phosgo and Single HaB. The young lady in the Adidas shirt said hi took my money and then started talking to people. Turns out our pizzas were already done and in the the warmer while we sat there for almost 20 minutes before another young lady from the kitchen asked can I help you? ...So our pizza was a little on the older side by the time we got it home. Also not sure what's going on with Boise but this is my second experience this week with undercooked dough and given my four years of professional pizza experience I'm going to guess the dough was a little on the old side. Anyways not a big deal The food was okay this time but not awesomely awesome. I did sincerely appreciate the playlist going on in the kitchen listening to some early '80s punk rock Ramones Dead Kennedy's etc so thank you that made my waiting very enjoyable. Their pizza is good and I have never had a problem when placing my to go orders. The one complaint is that they say their delivery area is 4 miles. I live 3.6 miles from the store. When I asked them to look at it they told me to call a different location (still out of the delivery area) I asked them to google it and they said that with traffic and the lights it goes past their time frame of 4 miles. I thought you did it by miles not time, but whatever. read more
