I love longboards. I used to come to longboards on the weekends to watch football games. They have a great happy hour and the chicken wings here are the best. I really like the buffalo ones, but the plain fried ones are also great. I have only been when happy hour is going on, but it's a great place to go after hanging out at the beach all day. read more

Food is overpriced your just paying for the ocean view. Happy Hour 11-12, 4-6p.m. Basically the drinks and apps are a few bucks cheaper. They make a good strong Mai tai. We ate here twice why? Not many options in this area and believe or not Longboards is actually cheaper than other restaurants. My husband ordered a steak and I had pasta. We added some extra salt , pepper and tasted better. This place has live music at night which we enjoyed while watching the sunset. TIP: just order drinks and if you want to enjoy the sunset and music their is a jacuzzi right next stage area. read more

We ate here because of the convenience not because of the food. There were 5 people in our party, none of us had a good meal. The fish tacos were very dry and flavorless, the burger, for the price should have been good but was also flavorless. One person in our group got the nachos, if you like canned cheese sauce these are for you. The meal was very disappointing. Unfortunately staying at the Marriott your limited on affordable restaurants .. we have eaten at Longboards multiple times and each time was a little worse. The first night good and service were awesome. The 2nd the service was horrible, it was clearly obvious that parties greater then 2 received priority on service (obviously thinking tips would be higher). 3rd time we waited 2 hours to have a sandwhich and get a bill we had to ask for multiple times again larger parties were catered to. Final time we ordered take out since the other experiences were that bad and the fries were stone cold and Rick hard. Go anywhere else .. this good is expensive, not worth the wait and the service is ridiculously slow, non existent and I don't need to feel like my money is not as good as the party of ( no apologies, no attempt to make it right and although there are specials of the day never where they shared with us. read more

Had a great experience last night for dinner but today at lunch? Way different story. My to go order (which was ordered for my friend sleeping in the room) came out about 15 minutes before my order. When my order finally came out my food was raw. To top it off, the couple at the table behind me had the same happen. We both sent our food back. I was offered to have it remade but given it too 30 minutes to get raw food. I wasn't in the mood to wait another 30 minutes. We visited Longboards for dinner while staying at the property. Our view was of the storage shed, which was pretty disappointing given the price and below average food. I ordered the chef's special (Mahi Mahi) and was unimpressed. The Mahi was either previously frozen or overcooked (it was very tough instead of flaky). The veggies that came with it were raw. The tuna melt was good but was only warm. We waited quite a while for our drinks to arrive (waters and ice teas--nothing from the bar). You are better off getting take out and enjoying the view from one of the chairs on the beach. read more

Hosts and waiters really nice, late kinda didn't wanna a leave the resort for food, but food quality is poor, didn't seem fresh. Fries cold, wings cold and Ceaser salad weak, you get the dressing on the side for the salad. I wouldn't come back ever. The frozen Mia tai is fantastic. The food is pretty good and the view is great. Although it's the people that we enjoyed. We had Roxy and Hailey. Both were great to chat with and very funny. If you are in the area I would recommend. Wow... for a restaurant in a hotel the service was less than mediocre and the food was just okay. I got the kalua pig nachos and their special drink on the bar board. The waitress had no idea what i was talking about. I had to correct her three times. The most annoying thing was that instead of walking around the table and setting each person's drink in front of them... like normal people do. What she did was stand at one end of the table and have everyone pass the drinks down the line...so we had to keep putting whatever we had in our hands down. Who does that??? Our table was fully open to walk around. How lazy! Especially since we were dining with two very small children and was trying to deal with them. I will never go here again. read more

Over priced mediocre hotel food from a hotel with terrible policies and no concern for customer service. We came here for lunch one day and parked at the hotel. Parking is validated if you eat at the restaurant and spend $40. We spent $80 for a bad lunch. I had a tasteless pulled pork sandwich that was horribly dry and missing the coleslaw it advertises on the menu. I didn't get it after requesting it until 15 minutes later. $9 for a kids meal of 2 skinny mostly bread chicken tenders and 6 pieces of fruit? ?!! Here's the worse part. .. We decided to walk on the beach for a little bit afterwards. Upon leaving, the parking attendant informs us we owe $20. We point out we ate at the restaurant and parking should be validated. He points out a very small statement at the bottom of the ticket that reads "no beach access. " What does that have to do with anything? So we speak to the manager who informs us if we went to the beach, we'd have to pay for full parking! We weren't even on the beach that long! And again, what does that have to do with anything? Are you spying on us? I think this is the most absurd thing I've ever heard of! Over charging me for parking for taking a walk down to a public beach after lunch! I definitely won't be back. Be warned patrons and take your business across the street to better tasting food and businesses that appreciate you and don't try to throw stupid policies to rob you. read more

ME THINKS NOT. NEVER AGAIN - AT LEAST TRIED IT ONCE!! First off, it started driving to the valet area. We were behind another vehicle and we see the local valet help the first car. Then, we were waiting to be helped next and stayed in our car- the occupants in the car behind us, steps out of their car and another local valet helps them first - Are we like invisible? Then, the first valet sees this and says, "you like valet?", I say "yup". Then, he guides another customer vehicle to stage next to us and helps them- Im like what the "F". I soon realize the three that were helped were all tourist - Im like, wow, what about the LOCALS... take care da LOCALS first frickas. Finally, the first valet takes our car after all three cars were helped first. Anyway, so we go to the LONGBOARDS which was recommended by a friend because of their atmosphere. She said, go during Sunset. So, I figgah i go take my honey- suprise her - you know dakind. Then, we get to the receptionist, she says 1 hr wait. I figgah, since we here already we just wait since the Sunset was nice. But, not for 1 and a 1/2 wait, after the sunset went down - was gettin hungry already. I checked with the receptionist twice and i saw that the people that were helped at the valet first were already sitting down. So, back track, we get there at 6 and we finally sitdown at around 735pm. I felt so bad cause the other half was all dressed up and i could see it in her face she was dissappointed. HELL I WAS TOO. She ordered a Salad for 15 bucks, and i ordered the Longboard burger for 16 bucks....MAN the food took LONG TIMEEEEE.....oh, we also ordered the calmari for pupu...that came out fast and was ono. But, the main dish took forevers to come out. And my plastic cup filled with ice tea was empty and sitting there for long time (Ya, our server wasn't really attentive, but get this, she was local). OH, i forgot to mention, the people that were helped at valet first were already leaving when we first sat down...hahaha. das messed up. Anyway, the food was medicore- Should have just gone Kuuaina's. Total bill came out to 65 dollars for inattentive service and medicore food. NOUGH SAID!! Never again. I've seen better service at a busy restaurant with the waiters always checking up on us and apologizing for the delay and even discounting some of our items....MAN, LONGBOARDS SUCK!!! but that's just my opinion. Came here for dinner during our seven night staycation. The view is absolutely breathtaking! You won't get any closer to the beach than longboards. If you go during sunset time it's the perfect location for the most beautiful sunset! All I can say is priceless. Every evening there is also live music. Hawaiian medley's as you enjoy your dinner. My husband and I had the surf and turf, a choice of fresh catch or shrimp accompanied by a New York steak. The fresh catch was monchong, a white fish, with a cream caper sauce! Meal also comes with fresh steamed vegetables. Everything was really tasty! The employees are also very personable and welcoming! Highly recommended! read more

Saimin that was served puke-warm, and tasted fermented, had my wife sick for nearly a week. She had never experienced the "pleasure" of projectile vomiting before this delightful dining experience that was capped off with the waitress arguing with my wife about the food quality. Nice touch that! (May I suggest that she seek employment in some business not connected with customer or "hospitality" service?) I tried to taste it to see if it was as bad as she claimed, and it was. It affected me the same way too, sorry to report. Imagine a fire hose nozzle fully opened and blasting brown, stinking water out of it, then imagine that the nozzle is your mouth and the water is everything you've eaten since last Sunday...now imagine that the nozzle is in two locations, and at both ends of the digestive tract. It was a very unpleasant experience. If you want lousy food and wait staff with attitude (the unpleasant and obnoxious sort), then you must go there! But make sure that your medical insurance is in order first. Truly revolting. Update: Waitress with attitude? Frankie. Wait staff should be advocates for the customer when the kitchen is wrong, and for the kitchen when the customer is wrong (and yes, we customers can be wrong sometimes, but not in this case). Frankie should find a different job or gain better customer service skills. Arguing with customers about sickeningly bad food from the kitchen is not good customer service. We should have a Yelp Run club. Just sayin'. After getting together with fellow Yelp elite Jessica S for a nice morning 8 mile Sunday recovery run leading up to her first Honolulu Marathon in 2013 (and my 65th and 7th Honolulu) in Kapolei, we (she and I, along with her husband) came over to the lush and beautiful Marriott Koolina Beach Club resort for some Yelping and lunch at the same time. First time here for both of us, so it was nice to enjoy Sunday and get in a hearty meal. First thing is that this place is part of the Marriott resort, so yes, I realize and understand that it WILL be overpriced, but we decided to eat here knowing this fact. We got here in between breakfast and lunch hours @ 10:30am after valet parking, so we just chilled in the pool area before making the move to the entrance. The weird part of the experience was that it was already 11:05am and the wait staff was still roaming around, trying to prep the area for the opening. That was just interesting. Longboards is located within the Marriott Koolina Beach Club resort. First time here, although I had done a staycation at the Aulani previously, but first time here to the Marriott Koolina Beach Club. It was cute. It was basically a bar area, with most of the seating outdoors, facing the ocean. It was an experience, I can tell you that. I was in my running clothes, so it wasn't as fancy as it could've been. With that said, I ordered the BBQ Burger, whereas Jessica tried the taro sandwich and her husband did the saimin. The service was decently good, where the server checked on us at least twice and filled our water glasses twice. I would've gotten a beer, but at $7 a glass, I just said no and opted for some Baskin Robbins after we left the vicinity. For the burger I had, it was medium rare, and cooked very well. It was delicious and probably one of the best I have had in a while. I may have been worth the $16, but something tells me it was still overpriced. I know, resort prices, but still, it was expensive. Just for the experience, I know, but arrghh. Once in a while with friends. The overall experience was nice. Having done 8 miles before arriving here, it was good to have a post run meal was a perfect way to compliment the day. While I thought that the prices here were a bit off the wall, it was still a resort, but the burger was very good and the fries were pretty exceptional. Better than all the fries I have tasted before. So, I guess it was worth it, although I would price it at maybe $12.95 at most. Not $16. Yeah. Resort mark up for sure, but it is what it is. The ambiance was nice, since it was overlooking the pool and ocean area. Nice relaxing day though, I'll give them the ambiance. Yes, the view was great. My wife and I waited until day 6 of our week-long stay to try one of the two restaurants onsite. We should have continued going offsite. We went for a late lunch around 5 pm and started off with frozen mai-tais. Those were the hi light of the meal. I tried the fish sandwich and my wife had the pork sandwich. Both of them were so disappointing we gave up before finishing half of them. This was our second visit to the Marriott property and our last visit to Longboards. read more

If you are staying at Ko Olina or Disney, this is a walking distance bar restaurant with decent food. My favorite has been their Mahi Mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries. Their bun had gotten softer and smaller kind compared to what I remember in the past years with a baguette. I liked the older style better but still I like their sandwich. Margarita was ok. We were passing Kolohe's after watching the sunset and decided to grab a few appetizers and listen to the music. Here are the positives: 1) It's connected to the Ko Onlina Beach club - perfect if your staying at the hotel. 2) If you come for dinner around sunset time, there's an insane view from pretty much any of the tables. 3) They have live music performers Thursday - Sunday If only the food was decent, this would be a great spot. We came during happy hour which meant $2 off the $10 Mai Tai's and Pina Colada's. I ordered the Mai Tai, which was tiny and I could hardly taste any alcohol. We also ordered a salad, calamari and the molten chocolate cake. The cake was good, but the calamari was a fillet that tasted and looked more like fish sticks. Overall I would only suggest coming here for the music, a glass of wine and dessert. read more

I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant so I wasn't extremely disappointed. $18 for buffet breakfast, pretty standard. Though was upset they weren't offering regular breakfast as an option. The choices were pretty limited though: cereal, bacon, watery scrambled eggs, potato wedges, sausage and pancakes. Got your standards, but nothing extra. This was our first breakfast here so tried it out but later went to Target to get some stuff to make for the rest of our trip here. Cheaper too! read more

I ordered the Chinese chicken salad which was MONSTROUS; it could have fed my entire family and I felt like I was eating lettuce that came from a bag, frozen chicken, and the mandarins came from a can. In a group of five Honolulu folks, we enjoyed the Longboards buffet breakfast. Two choices were offered: Continental and Full Buffet. Four of us chose the Continental. The fresh island fruit platters of papaya, pineapple, watermelon and mandarine slices were just the right ripeness and refreshed quickly as needed. The oatmeal was fresh and good consistency, not sticky. The comment of the one person that opted for the full buffet was the scrambled eggs were liquid from a package rather than fresh eggs. I found the service providers cheerful and attentive. We'll enjoy the Longboard again the next time we take a resort day in the area. read more
