Had a great date night walking the Lake of the Isles, visiting Birchbark Books, then having dinner here at The Kenwood. The reviews I read had dubbed this a "good neighborhood spot" but we both agreed it was definitely more than that! I would drive across town to eat here again. This was a restaurant you could definitely dress up for if you want. The service was excellent with consistent attendance that did not disrupt the meal or conversation. Food was delicious!! As Italian food connoisseurs, the carbonara here was gooooood. -street parking (free) -reservation recommended -dress up if desired

I had the BUCATINI CARBONARA applewood smoked bacon, egg yolk*, parmigiano reggiano, and it was delicious, the pasta was al dente! I would have loved to have added a chicken breast to it, but that was not an option, nevertheless, it was perfect as it was served! Definitely going back soon.

Just off Lake of the Isles, I would very gladly recommend the Kenwood to anyone looking for a neighborhood brunch that doesn't give diner vibes. The plaid wallpaper, robust windows, tall ceilings, and tasteful decor make the Kenwood a great Saturday spot. It gets loud with all the tables full, but it brings the energy you may require on a summer Saturday morning! Our server was wonderful, providing great recs and quick service. I opted for the Huevos Rancheros. Very good and filling, but not so that you feel overstuffed. Crispy, hot potato cubes layer the bottom of the dish with delicately shredded braised pork filling out the center and a perfectly over medium egg to crown the dish. The plate also comes with a small dollop of sour cream and a flavorful swish of harissa sauce that adds a touch of heat. Overall, really nice portion size and excellent flavor. Would be curious to see what dinners look like here?

Great service and a cozy bar spot. Focaccia is always amazing l! Gem salad was fresh and the carbonara was decadent.

Very busy Sunday brunch afternoon. First timer and neighborhood this is tucked in is so cute. Ambiance was great. Food even better chorizo was tender. The pancake the perfect amount of fluff and right amount of butter. Also had a kenwood burger not pictured bacon was thick and crispy. Docking down a star for service. Had a reservation in which we reserved a table for 3 as we had a baby and needed the car seat. She tried ti push us for a table for two. Our server messed up order and also left before we got our check without even a final check in.

It's truly a neighbor gem! There isn't a massive menu but I won't get tired of anything on it. Love their home made pasta and focaccia. Burger is great too. The menu changes seasonally. I was very impressed by the WILD ACRES DUCK in my recent visit. Knowing duck dish isn't easy to cook, theirs is soft, juicy and tasty, the best duck I've had so far in Minneapolis. Just like their ad says, "Dishes that can take you outside your comfort zone - or bring you back to it"! Servers are very friendly, we never had one bad experience.

Best pancake ever! Everything on the menu looked delicious so it was hard to choose. Definitely don't skip the pancake though. I'll be back to try more. It's a bit busy and a bit noisy for brunch but definitely worth it. Service was quick despite how busy they were. Street parking was relatively easy to find just around the corner.

The Kenwood perfectly matched my expectations. After starting with the "House-Made Focaccia" and the "Baby Gem Salad", I knew I was in for more goodness. None of the food here feels heavy. The menu here has great variety and refreshing preparations that put an exciting twist on classic Italian dishes. The Arctic Char was cooked to perfection- atop a wonderfully creamy tabbouleh salad. The "Rigatoni" was outstanding. I was hesitant about the chicken sausage in it, as I'm not the biggest fan of this meat, but it absolutely made the dish. Finishing with the Brown Butter Cookie ice cream was the best decision I could have made. A clean and intimate atmosphere, friendly staff, and cool neighborhood made for a great night. Recommend!

Been meaning to come here for a couple of years (I run or bike by it often); finally jumped in for brunch. 1) Omelette béchamel aux champignons: best omelette I've ever had, world-wide; 2) French fries w/calabrian chili mayo: best I've had outside of Belgium. Crazy fresh ingredients including top-drawer butter for the eggs. Perfect doneness. Also really good coffee. Next time, dinner!

Always a nice evening to be in this neighborhood restaurant with good food and a good vibe. I've always been a fan of the wallpaper and the cozy feel but for some reason tonight with good friends it all came together. A great meal with halibut, pasta, a salad and a soup and bread starter. I was not a fan of the cold pea soup, but my table mates loved it. The pasta had mushroom, kale and leek and Parmesan and was very tasty. Easy parking and good service made this a great night. We will be back.

What a wonderful spot in a beautiful location! The staff are so kind and everyone is very helpful with answering questions. Went here for brunch and it was a very enjoyable time! The food is very high quality and every time I go it's the same level of service and food quality. Highly recommend! I got the ricotta toast that was exactly what I was wanting! My fiancé got the breakfast burger and I think it was one of the best burgers I have ever had! The fries were a little on the salty side for me but I won't complain about that! The meat was so tender and juicy! Will go back for that!!

I came with some friends for a Sunday morning brunch so we expected a longer wait - it was only about 10-15 minutes which was great. The inside of the restaurant is really cute and there is street parking, albeit difficult to find. I really liked how big the menu was - plenty of options and something for everyone! I ordered the Biscuit Benny and loved it as a take on biscuits and gravy, but with fried chicken instead. I do kind of wish it were the traditional biscuits and gravy style because the fried chicken was a bit tough to cut through. Very tasty though! Some dishes were a bit lackluster - we eat with our eyes and some things didn't look super appetizing. We found ourselves saying "we're glad we didn't order that because it doesn't look very tasty". Next time, I'd order something different even though I'm an eggs benny girl through and through.
