I've never been to this restaurant so thought I'd give it a try and it met my expectations across the board (Food, Service and Ambience). I was immediately seated and my server promptly check on me and got me started with an Arnold Palmer and fresh warm bread. I choose the 12 oz ribeye steak cooked medium rare with mashed potatoes and a Caesar Salad as my sides. The salad was perfectly fresh and my steak was delicious. Longhorn is pretty okay!! I would give it overall to be fairly mid. I love their lunch specials- but for dinner they are eh. The waitlist system doesn't allow you to check in from the car, so you have to wait inside in the crowded waiting area. It's usually very crowded and pretty loud- but hey that's a busy restaurant on weekend evenings. The food is okay- the bread isn't warm, and the fact that you can parm crust everything is fun but also kind of funky. Bring me meat - here we are. Surprisingly not very busy for a Sunday afternoon. Bread & butter arrived hot & good as always. Tried Shrimp & Lobster Chowder, nice flavor but couldn't find the lobster. Entrees consisted of New York Strip - med rare. Came out as ordered, well seasoned and extremely tender. The other was Flo's Filet - med. Cooked as ordered, again well seasoned & tender. Well, today you are going to see something different. The boys and one girl from the VA Creative Writing Group went to a national chain for a burger. Why? Two reasons. First, look at that photo. We've been looking at that photo for months now. One of our folks gets regular email advertisements from Longhorn Steakhouse, and that photo really does look good. Second, this burger was recently rated the best sit-down national chain hamburger by Tasting Table. That did it. We went, and we concur. A great burger. Half a pound of meat with all the fixins. I hadn't been to Longhorn Steakhouse in years, but I forgot I signed up for their eClub. So, I got the opportunity to get a Free Appetizer up $14.79 when I ordered an Adult Dinner Entree. I ordered To Go Ahead for 7:30pm. The coupon code wouldn't work for me online, so I called to complete the order. The person on the phone was very patient and got it through. I ordered the Outlaw Ribeye ($32.79) Medium-rare with broccoli and a Bowl of Shrimp and Lobster Chowder (+$2.99) and the Chicken Wings appetizer with Buffalo sauce and Blue cheese on the side ($12.99). I did arrive about 15 min late, parked in a numbered spot, confirmed on the link given, and waited. About less than 10 min, they arrived with my bag of food. I double checked everything and it was all there. I was very happy and tried the broccoli, which was steamed perfectly. When I got home, the food was still warm, but I heated up the wings a bit more so they were nice and hot, but I ate the chowder as is. The chowder was warm, but that's ok. I don't know how the chowder is supposed to taste, but I did find it runny and bland. The chowder had a lot of pieces though. The wings were well seasoned, a tad salty, but overall good flavor. The Outlaw Ribeye was cooked Medium-rare and well seasoned. Overall, I was satisfied with my purchase and will order again, but would modify a different 2nd side. Fantastic service and great food at the bar during my recent visit. I stopped by on a busy Monday night and snagged a bar seat to enjoy dinner and a couple drinks while I was in town for work. They had plenty of reasonably priced beers on tap and cocktails on their drink menu to pick from. I opted for a local IPA that was delicious! For dinner I had the smaller portion of the Parmesan crusted chicken with fries as my side and a salad. Everything was fresh and full of flavor! Even though I opted for the smaller portion I still had plenty to bring home. I think most chain restaurants feel a bit generic in terms of atmosphere but this Longhorn location was really nice and Kristopher provided outstanding service at the bar! Craving a Cheeseburger and have a gift card so I chose LongHorn Steakhouse. The worst burger I have ever had. Even the worst one I had at Disneyland was better. McDonald's has a much better double quarter pound, which was the size of theirs 1/2 lb. I asked for pink, which the nice waiter said medium. When it came it was well done, burnt at the tips, the bottom bun was as hard as ever, and the lettuce was old and wilted. Just plain nasty. No more burgers for me at that location. read more

I went here on 1/24 for takeout and was disappointed a $75.00 order included two welted brown salads. i can't imagine how the entree salads look like. I only went to this place to use a gift card i been holding on for too long. Had I not had the gift card i would have gone to my regular place "Pelicans" who salad portions are bigger and with better ranch. The restaurant design and decor is beautiful and upscale. The ambiance is welcoming and quiet enough for conversations . The prices are reasonable abd the restaurant is staffed appropriately. We were there with another couple about a week ago. I ordered the larger filet mignon medium. When it arrived my countenance fell. The filet was 1/2" and medium well. Looking at the picture of the filet on the website, it looked to be about an inch thick ((which I think is the minimum for a filet). It almost looked precooked as there were no grill marks on the meat. Server was great. I guess if want a good filet, I'll grill it myself. That said the runner that brought the food out was extremely rude and yelled at the table of 9 people to pay attention when he did nothing to gain our attention so that we could. He then spilled the juice off the steak down the shirt of one of our group and then said we were mistaken when we told him to be careful. He then asked where the mushrooms went and when the couple said it was theirs he argued with them saying that they were supposed to be on the other side of the table. We then asked to speak to a manager that did come out quickly. He apologized for the ordeal and said that he would issue a discount to the ticket but then never put it in. We went to the Longhorn in Rio Rancho. We go like once a week. The last few times we went. They either undercook or overcook our steak. When they supposedly correct, they bring it back the opposite. If it was overcooked, they'll bring it back undercut the third time they brought it back. There was hair in it. They took it off of our bill, although we didn't eat and they didn't offers anything for our trouble. So we left hungry. This has been happening. Consistently. Won't be going there again. read more

Wow! I can't believe I've slept on this place for SO many years! When arriving at our hotel right across the street, we could smell the steak scent in the air. Due to it being right across from us and having a giftcard our mom gave us, we decided to give them a try. We placed ourselves on the wait list while at our hotel. The restaurant texted us to inform of us the wait time. When we arrived it was a packed house. The scent of amazing food was in the air. Upon checking in, another text was sent w/ a link so that we could see where were on the wait list. Shortly after another text came in to state our table was ready. With the busy room, we were quickly greeted at our table by Kylie. Since we had already looked at the menu, we knew everything we wanted. Kylie came back w/ bread, butter and water (which we forgot to ask for). I got the Renegade Sirloin & Redrock grilled shrimp (8 of em over rice), w/ a baked potato and side salad. While my other half got Flo's Filet & lobster tail w/ asparagus and mashed potatoes. Our tastebuds were in heaven! We couldn't get over how flavorful everything was. When Kylie brought over the food, she even said "it tastes even better than it looks." True story! The shrimp was the least of our favorites on the list of items we had. The steaks for tender, juicy and packed with flavor. We left w/ happy bellies and a new place to get a good steak dinner. Don't sleep on Longhorns like we did, you'll be sorry. The servers have to be reminded we can hear every word that is spoken in there and it wasn't kitchen related talk it was very loud BS talk about life , annoying. The server was very slow but friendly . She never asked us if we wanted more water or coffee, the bread board stayed on our table the entire meal even as it was empty and messy . My friend and I ordered 2 ribeyes the large one and the 12 oz one .. the steaks were delivered by a runner and the waitress never came back after we cut into our steaks to make sure they were cooked correctly. She came by through the meal but a few times but it felt off. I wasn't happy about the service at all .. Went to longhorn on a Wednesday around 4:00 p.m. with 10 friends. It's impossible to get a reservation they don't make reservations. They do have an online wait list but only for up to I think 6:00. So I had to forewarn my friends that we might have to wait a bit before getting seated. In fact we did, however, that was because there was a change in servers apparently at 4:00 p.m. and our server was not there yet. Nevertheless, we had wonderful service. I love this chain restaurant because the food is consistent, it is well prepared, the quality is really high, and you get a lot for your dollar. I can understand that there may be issues with staffing but what I observed that was not the case. I went in for dinner and it took a long time for a server to acknowledge me. When I asked to sub a baked potato for rice the server said no issue. When I was asked for my side I said Brussels sprouts. Here is when thing go bad. The server never mentioned that these choices were going to be an up charge. The food arrived but no baked potato. I mention it to the person who brought the food. The Brussels sprouts was a bowl of burned leaves with 6 sprouts. The burnt taste was over powering. The shrimp on the dish were over cooked and like a rubber band. The potato arrived after I had finished my food. When I brought the issue up To the manager that's when I found out about the up charge which he took off. Was not the birthday dinner I wanted. This is one of our favorite restaurants because they cook the steaks to perfection with amazing seasoning that is a secret recipe (we've tried to replicate it with no luck yet). I always get the Flo's filet since it's the perfect size of steak for me. The outlaw ribeye is also amazing and comes in a larger portion if that's more your thing. Have to say not my favorite steakhouse. The food is decent and they have some cheap drinks but all of their food is very simple in flavor. We got the wings appetizer and it was a very plain dry rub. I got the Caesar Salad and Wild West Shrimp and my BF got the Pork Chops. All except for the salad were underwhelming. The best thing I ate was my side salad and rice. My BF said his broccoli side was the best for him. Family and date night friendly. All that said the staff was very friendly. read more
