Food: The steak was done perfectly -not overdone - served just as we ordered . The burger on the cheeseburger was a nice size, very tasty. There are several choices of cheese for the cheeseburger. Sides were also yummy. The French onion soup had lots of melted cheese and the baked sweet potato was topped with sugar and cinnamon. Service -5 stars for Kate's pleasant attention to our requests and keeping our beverage glasses full without reminder. Facility -still the same western motif facility -well maintained and clean. Keeley was such a good server. She was on top of everything. We never had to ask for a refill for our drinks because she had them brought out before we were even halfway empty. Had a very nice lunch here. They had a nice selection of lunch entrees on their menu at a fair price. Two of us ordered the field green salad with chicken tenders as a protein. Salad was good. Longhorn does not get the respect that It deserves. I now live in Washington state and there's not one within 2000 miles. When I went home I knew I would be enjoying this with my aunt. Everything was as I remember. Delicious and flavorful. The bread was a bit hard during my visit which was surprising since It was a late lunch. Service was fair and not out of the normal. Bri was our bartender and she did an amazing job to make sure our order was perfect, I wanted my Grilled Salmon done on the "open grill " along with the luncheon burger as well. We ordered medium rare on both , they came out to perfection. The grill marks were unbelievable the taste was even better.. my potato soup was amazing. Great location, great food, & great service. Parking is plentiful. Even with the restaurant being packed, there was still plenty of parking. Our party was small (thank goodness!) and we happened to arrive during a busy time where there were several large (10+ people at least) parties. 16 people last Sunday for a B-day. out 6PM. Service was very good. Food was wowed by everyone. I had the Porterhouse and it was perfectly grilled. Rice pilaf was just not good in my opinion. Reminded me of boxed pilaf but hey the steak was great so I did not really care that much bout the subpar pilaf. My lobster side got "lost somewhere" but the replacement was delic I'm glad to say. We really enjoyed our experience here last night. We were seated right away, though it wasn't terribly busy. Everyone from the hostesses to the servers to the management were very nice; we were treated very well. I enjoyed my salmon topped with the Parmesan crust, my Caesar salad, and mashed potatoes. Same experience as all the other reviews. Last time I had a steak here it was bland as all hell and I swear to God it tasted like it had been dipped in margarine. Ribs were burnt this time. We lucked-out and had the waitress that was incapable of smiling. I actually figured I'd have some fun with her and switched into server mode from when I used to wait tables. I smiled and asked her how she was doing when she didn't ask us. It was pretty funny seeing her reaction when confronted with someone putting a modicum of effort into human interaction. Just ate here and it was great, multiple groups coming in at the same time but we were all sat right away and the staff was not only friendly but also super energetic about their jobs. We were taken care of by Rebecca, and she truly did take excellent care of us. If I could give a less than 1 star I would. The manager of the Athens site should be fired immediately if not sooner. We went to the bar, the bartender was rarely in view but the couple next to us had THREE servers including the manager helping them yet we were not acknowledged for several minutes upon seating. I watched as the manager chatted with another table at length while still we weren't acknowledged. We decided to leave and I approached the hostess station where they seemed extremely bored. I asked for the manager but he was still chatting it up with the table he had been with which seemed his only focus. He couldn't be bothered so we left. I'll never give this place a try again. Hostess need a course in customer service! Don't call ahead it's a waste of time! We called 30 min ahead and placed our names on a list since we were in route and had a large party. We arrive and we're told that they would at that time place our names on the list. **Now if you placed me on the list and we weren't there then skip us and Continue to the next guest, but don't wait till we arrive to add our name to the list** When I inquire about why our name wasn't on the list I was explained that when you arrive your name is place b4 anyone that arrived after we called and that we were #4 on the list....LIES! We waited an additional hour as we watched at least 6 parties go before us! So yes I am HANGRY at this point. So we inquire on our wait AGAIN. They let us know that they were cleaning our table. So we wait 15 more min. Then were asked if we needed any kids menus....to which I replied yes. Then we waited another 7min...yes I was watching my watch! So we sat ourselves! This is when the night got better.... Our servers, well Merrideth had a great smile and cheerful demeanor! Amber warmed up... One of our guest had plastic in her meal. The manager came over and wanted to just offer a new one and was 99.9% sure there wasn't anymore plastic in her food. Servers need LOTS of training. After 3 requests and 15 minutes my beverage refill finally arrived. Glad I hadn't munched down on a pepper flake because there was nothing to wash it down with :) It took 10 minutes for our server to bring bread plates after requesting twice. You would think when they bring the bread, they would bring the plates, no? Lots of wait-staff walking in endless circles, carrying nothing, accomplishing little. With just a little common sense training, when they leave the kitchen or go back to the kitchen they could be bringing out food or taking back dirty plates or bringing beverage refills. Instead they just walk empty handed round and round, looking busy.... If we had been in a hurry the night would have been ruined. The bartender gave a great effort to be a good bartender but he wasn't. He knew our salmon was taking too long instead of confronting the issue he kept ignoring us and looking like he was busy.
