It's been a while since we'd been into a longhorn. In fact, we thought they were kind of expensive. However, I'm glad to say, I was proven wrong. The price points for fantastic. Lower than a lot of the local places around. We started with drinks and their whole grain bread with butter - it was still warm! We had the firecracker twists( love them) and the dipping sauce was to die for! Then we shared a 12oz strip steak, and street corn! I had a side salad with pecans, mandarins and grapes!! So good, the dressing, I could bath in it ! Our waitress, who also sat us, as the host was missing, was wonderful. I wish I had gotten her name so I could shout out to her... my mom had a strong drink, and the total bill was like 60$. Unheard of these days! The environment was very cowboy Wild West, with some awesome chaps on the wall, that seemed to be the real deal. They had iron cut outs of horses, cows and broncs. All and all, a wonderful experience!! Will be back! I was too busy eating, and forgot to photograph the plates!

Our server on Saturday night was most excellent (Ben). He's compassionate and a youthful soul. It was our pleasure to learn of his 'real' job outside of LHSH. He was attentive and proactive. I can tell you there's not too many servers like this anymore (post covid). You'd better do what you can to keep him. We will be back on the weekends asking for him!!

Don't recommend curbside! I had to call 15min apart for them to tell me they would be out with my food and never did I eventually went in to pick up my food which when I open was cold no silver wear napkins or any special requests I asked not even my bread

Service was fast lunch very good price was affordable for lunch . I had the Salmon Cesar salad which had a large portion of it and grilled perfectly. My wife had the burger and French onion soup which was also delicious.

No reservations, you put your name in and wait. We waited about an hour and a half, and I can confidently say it was worth it! The menu is small with only a handful of options, but they clearly know what they do and do it WELL. I had the cheeseburger with fries (no bun), and MAN, that burger was cooked to perfection. So juicy, and the fries were perfectly golden with just the right amount of crunch. My husband got the tuna salad and made it a melt, this was actually his birthday wish, so we HAD to make the trip! He said it was one of the best tuna salads he's ever had. You know the food is good when both of us are sitting there silently eating. Both of our counter servers were so friendly and the service was great. If you're in the Kennebunkport area and have the time, Palace Diner is a MUST. Absolutely worth the wait and DEFINITELY lives up to the hype!

Very limited menu and waitress told us the 2 specials. One was omelette of the day Broccoli and Swiss (not to special) and their blueberry pancakes. Menu prices are a bit high than what you usually pay anywhere else. I got the omelette and it was pretty small looked like a burrito Tasted good and fresh. My wife got the breakfast sandwich. It was good, but was a little overpowered by the sliced jalapeños (fresh)on it Both our breakfasts came with "palace potatoes " which are a different spin on homefries. My guess is a par boiled potatoes that the smash a little then deep fry and add salt. They were good, crunchy but creamy on the inside. The coffee was ok. First cup tasted a little burnt but the refill was better. Customer service was great. Waitress was attentive, checked in after 2 bites and heated my coffee several times while I ate. The price was $48 for two people we had thought about splitting an order of pancakes or corned-beef hash($11) but it was too pricey. It was a good experience, clean restaurant, friendly people and ok food but too expensive for breakfast. Had breakfast the day before at Twin City diner. Food was just as good ( except their home fries) and a better value.

We started the evening with cocktails which were very much to our liking, followed by a delicious appetizer of lobster risotto that we shared. We both ordered the short ribs which were mouthwatering and cooked to perfection that the meat fell off the bone. The servings were enough where we took the bones and whatever meat was left to make a delicious beef soup. Neither one of us were up for dessert but decided to get two to go, which we downed once we got home. And they were both delicious. In closing, I'd be remiss without saying a good word about our server Keila. She was warm, friendly, funny, and very attentive to our table. She made our night to enjoyable! Thanks you Keila ! We look forward to our next visit to The Village Inn soon.

If you loved Village Tavern under the previous owners, you should know that the beloved restaurant you remember no longer exists. The name is the same. The esthetic is the same. Some menu items even have the same names. But the experience is not. During our visit, the calamari, salmon, duck, and haddock were all cooked properly, yet each dish was surprisingly bland and forgettable. Many longtime favorites, including the wide selection of side dishes like the broccoli with blue cheese, are gone. This isn't a bad restaurant on its own merits. The problem is that it's trading on the reputation of something that no longer exists. What I find most puzzling is that the new owners kept the Village Tavern name while abandoning so much of what made it successful. When a restaurant has earned decades of loyalty, you would expect new ownership to preserve its strengths. Instead, it feels like they discarded the very things that built its reputation. I left disappointed, but mostly sad. A restaurant I once considered one of the best in Southern Maine is now simply pedestrian and overly priced. Former fans should adjust their expectations accordingly or avoid the disappointment altogether.
