My french onion soup came out luke warm. Had to send it back. This time is was hot with lots of good gooey cheese. My wife's rib eye was thin & chewy. if it was me I would have returned it but my wife wouldn't hear of it. It's been a while since we'd been into a longhorn. In fact, we thought they were kind of expensive. However, I'm glad to say, I was proven wrong. The price points for fantastic. Lower than a lot of the local places around. We started with drinks and their whole grain bread with butter - it was still warm! We had the firecracker twists( love them) and the dipping sauce was to die for! Then we shared a 12oz strip steak, and street corn! I had a side salad with pecans, mandarins and grapes!! So good, the dressing, I could bath in it ! Our waitress, who also sat us, as the host was missing, was wonderful. I wish I had gotten her name so I could shout out to her... my mom had a strong drink, and the total bill was like 60$. Unheard of these days! The environment was very cowboy Wild West, with some awesome chaps on the wall, that seemed to be the real deal. They had iron cut outs of horses, cows and broncs. Have not been to a Longhorn in a couple years but tonight went to the one in Newington, NH, was pretty dissapointed, we always get the parmesean crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and are good but the cheese on the chicken was not even melted, just a huge pile of shredded cheese, sooo much and it was so salty, there food usually is but this time even more so, there was so much butter on the potatoes, leaving my plate swimming in it! It really was gross, between the cheese, butter and salt, I just thought, are they trying to cover something up or give their customers a heart attack?? That will be my last time going there unless I just go for the stuffed mushrooms and salad and bread, too bad because they have really good chick fingers but they are so oversalted! read more

Okay, first let me preface by saying I understand what I'm getting when coming to a Longhorn or an Applebees, this is purely on my experience this past Father's Day 2023. The other three restaurants topping our list for dad weren't going to work out, so this is where we ended up. They had just opened for the day, there was room for us ahead of the church crowd, and the staff were happy to see us, friendly and quite hospitable. We got the appetizer that's essentially a blooming onion, but separate petals of onion in a delightful zesty dipping sauce - highly recommend. I could put an order of these things down right now, delish. The bread is something which comes directly out of my dreams, a warm fluffy carb-cloud begging for butter and tickling every taste-bud on its way to my digestive track. When the salads arrived mine was swimming in a vinaigrette soup which was a damn shame, but I should have asked for the dressing on the side - my bad. As the entrees started to arrive the waiter let my dad know that they were out of porkchops (again, they had just opened) so he had to order something else, he chose steaktips (bringing the total of steak tip meals for the table to three). When the meals arrived we all had the same reaction to which I quote, "Holy shit, that's salty." I don't complain about food - so I scraped the sauce off of mine and dealt with it, only eating half to minimize my sodium intake. My brother was doing one of those salty choke-coughs and my father who is the sodium king, tried to balance it by eating it with rice which was also tipping the sodium scale. We had a small discussion about how the steaktips were absolute perfection but for the salt. We mentioned it to the waiter who, in turn, brought the manager around (I always hate when this happens, as I run from confrontation of any kind) - and he said that he hears from patrons frequently that the food is too salty, but that their entire business is based off of it. He said 'that's what we're known for, bold flavors'. Yikes. I think I've been to a Longhorn maybe 5 times in my life, and not to be salty (see what I did there), but it will rest at the lower-half of the list for me due to the salt issue. I had not visited Longhorn in over a year as it was terrible the last time. I decided to try it again and once again it was very disappointing. I ordered the Flo's filet and it came out looking like a hockey puck. The manager tried to make me believe it was actually a filet. I will never frequent this establishment again. New York Strip - Classic cut that was cooked to our specifications. Baby Back Ribs - The ribs were the standard affair, although Longhorn's barbecue sauce tastes a bit like spicy ketchup. I'm personally not a fan, but I know some folks prefer that style. French Onion Soup - A standard French onion soup, tasted delicious. Crispy Brussel Sprouts - A side that was as disgusting as it was bewildering. When ordering, we expected it to be pan-seared Brussel sprouts. Instead we got sprouts that were deep-fried in sugar butter. But it was nearly inedible and lost all flavor. It tasted and looked like something that was scraped out from behind the fryers. Our server was undoubtedly rude to us. I won't be into detail, but she basically behaved like waiting on us was a chore. Never even asked once if we'd like refills and made passive aggressive comments most of the time. Also to note that the restrooms were clean but had dim lighting as a stylistic choice. If you need well-lit bathrooms, just a heads-up. The food was decent for the price, although I know that you can get more food for an even or lesser price at Texas Roadhouse. Ultimately, simply decent food that got the job done but lackluster service from most of the staff brought down the rating. read more

We first started off with a couple of appetizers which were ( Spicy Chicken Bites) as well as (Texas Tonions). WOW they were Awsome. They also served us Bread and butter. The Steak tips were out of this world marinated in onions & mushrooms The baked potatoe was so big and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside skin. I'm going to preface this review by saying this is a chain, so it's not nearly as good as many local restaraunts, but I'm rating it against other chains not local places. The food here is really good. They know how to do steak and they do it well. On tops of that their portions are very decent. We usually get steak tips and an appetizer or two and split them and it's more than enough for my husband and I. In fact, the other night we did this and actually had leftovers of appetizers and the entree. It's probably because they give you delicious free bread and butter which helps fill you up. We got fried pickles, wild west shrimp, and steak tips with fries and steakhouse mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is amazing. So creamy, so cheesy, so delicious! The fries are standard fries, and I wish they didn't add so much pepper, especially to the kids meal fries, but I always forget to ask ahead of time for no pepper. The steak tips are delicious and tender and plenty for two! The apps were good too. I enjoyed the shrimp with the peppers a lot, they were a perfect compromise for my husband who likes soicy things, and I who don't. The peppers leave a slight kick on the shrimp, but if you just pick around them its not too spicy at all, but for my husba d he just ate them and enjoyed it. I LOVED the fried pickles, and honestly those are the reason I always want to go to Longhorn. Every restaurant should sell fried pickles. The fried pickles here are amazing, however I wish they came with a more interesting dipping sauce than just ranch. We will definitely be back eventually, but will focus on local places most of the time, but for a good order or steak and fried pickles with the gooeyist mac and cheese around, this is my go-to place! read more

I can get down with LongHorn, as there are a lot of things that I can appreciate. Number one being their chicken tenders...I know, what am I, 5 years old? But it's true. They arguably have THE. BEST. chicken tenders. And their Parmesan crusted chicken...like okay...that is no joke. And I mean, it's a steakhouse, so obviously their steaks are great and well-seasoned with the Renegade Sirloin being my fav. This LongHorn location has always been hit or miss though. The food has always been great, but the service has always been severely lacking. Unfortunately on a recent trip, not only was the service lacking...but the food wasn't what it always had been. I came here with a party of 6 people. The waiter was nice enough...but instead of actively listening to our order, he would interject with "okay"s and "mhmm"s. He didn't even bother to write down our orders...which caused us to not get a lot of what we ordered. The whole table ordered steaks at differing temperatures and and sides, yet the waiter still didn't want to write anything down. So long story short, two people didn't get the bleu cheese crumbles on top of their steak, two people didn't get the side of mushrooms and onions, one person didn't get the fries they ordered as a side...I could go on. I had ordered the renegade sirloin on this trip, and it honestly just wasn't as it always had been. I normally love the steak seasoning at LongHorn, but my steak was poorly seasoned and was bland. With the poor service and the mediocre food that we received, it certainly wasn't worth the price tag at the end of the meal. With that many errors, the waiter didn't even ask the manager to fix our bill a little or anything. Needless to say, the next time we choose a restaurant, I'm not too sure this LongHorn will be at the top of the list. read more

Called ahead to make a reservation. Arrived 10 minutes later and we were told there was a 35 minute wait. Take in mind we have a 4 year old and a 18 month old. Ok no problem. 45 minutes go by and I check in with the hostess. At that time she tells me 25 minutes. So I ask what happened to 35 minutes 45 minutes ago? "I said that?" She asks. Finally after waiting there with one very patient 4yr old and one not so patient 18mo old, we are seated after 1 1/2hrs. Obviously we were none too impressed and this rating would be one star except that after complaining to the manager we were given free kids meals and they were brought out within 5 minutes to keep the kids happy and a free appetizer to keep us happy. I'm not one to ask or want free things but the gesture and the fact that our waiter was awesome and the food was great made up for a long wait. read more

We went for steak, ordered a 9 ounce steak, baked potato, and vegetable. The steak was wy under cooked, I wanted medium, got extremely rare. The baked potato was half cooked, real hard, and barely room temperature, the broccoli was so over cooked, it was falling apart. My wife ordered the parmesan chicken, mashed potato and vegetable. Her chicken was so salty it couldn't be eaten, and it too was not hot. The mashed were room temperature and chunky. Same broccoli as I had. I would not suggest this as a place to go. read more

They say judge the place you eat by how clean their bathroom is...the bathroom here was covered in dust and dirt, someone actually wrote in the dust covered in the stall "dirty". Our server was very nice, the bartender not so much. The bartender was lazy and had a bad attitude, our server needed to make her drinks herself. We were so turned off by the whole experience, including waiting for 30 minutes for our drinks, we got the check and left. read more

I used to frequent this location on a weekly basis from the time they opened to the time I moved. Today was my first visit back in almost 8 years. I never had an issue at this location. The food and service was always spot on. Today, both were a slight miss. The service more so than the food. We sat in a booth in the bar area and found that our server was also the bartender so her focus was in too many places and she was not as attentive or as fast as she should have been. She was nice, so no harm, no foul. The food, with the exception of the mashed potatoes which were cold, was pretty good. Their menu has changed and some favorite items are now sadly gone. My husband and I went to the Longhorn for lunch on Nov 16. I ordered steak tips for lunch and my husband ordered a burger. It was a very bad experience. 1. We sat in a booth associated with the bar area. At least 4 waitresses and waiters walked by our table for 15 minutes without any kind of acknowledgement. They actually all acted as though we didn't exist. 2. The bartender took notice and came over to take our order and continued to wait on us. Kudos to the bartender. 3. Steak tips I ordered were ordered medium-to-well. They were served rare. In addition, the steak tips presented as a small dish of 1/2 inch pieces of steak that resembled a bowl of kibbles and bits. I honestly thought it was a serving for a small dog or cat. It was the most pathetic dish of steak tips I've ever seen. I'm not even sure I'd serve it to my dog and cat. This was a $16.00 dish. It came with 1 side only, so I ordered a caesar salad that was soaked in dressing. I guess I'd have to pay $50.00 if I wanted a potato with it. 4. Burger was ordered medium. It was served blood dripping rare. In addition, the french fries that came with the fries were super salty. 5. I ordered a mango margarita that tasted like a child's fruit drink. Not even a hit of alcohol. We would NEVER GO BACK and plan to share our experience with all our friends in Maine, NH, and MA. read more

Longhorn is as okay as a budget steak house chain could be. The steaks are salty enough that they seem brined, salads are adequate, and potatoes tend to be drowned in butter or sour cream depending on what you order. You won't go hungry at Longhorn and you won't get sick. But if you think this is "great", you might want to visit The Steakhouse in Wells and see how it's done. I'd go back if anybody else wanted to eat there and I wasn't unhappy with my meal, but I can't get too excited about yet another chain restaurant in Biddeford Crossing, the area's epicenter of mediocre chain restaurants. read more

It's laid-back enough that I feel like I'm eating in my own kitchen. But this place is definitely cleaner than my kitchen.i'm a big fan of their steaks and shrimp.Service is always been wonderful.
