In addition, Cameron had a rude and unprofessional attitude, which made us feel uncomfortable during lunch. We expected much better service in a restaurant of this level. The food was good and longhorn gives you a lot of bang for your buck. The ribs are delicious and so is the Parmesan crusted chicken. It was a lot more than I could eat in one sitting but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I ordered to go and unfortunately the curbside service just never happened. After sitting in my car for about 15 mins after parking in a numbered spot, I ended up going inside and could tell they're understaffed. I had to pick up my food at the bar area. Took it out to my car and ended up having to go back in because a side was missing. It didn't ruin longhorn for me, but if you plan to pick up curbside, maybe be prepared for a longer wait and just plan to go inside anyways. Unless this was just an off night. read more

I've been going to this Longhorn for years and I've never had an issue with them before, but tonight I unfortunately was served what appears to be a rotten baked potato. I cut into my baked potato and saw this sticky black blob in the middle and immediately called the manager over. He was very polite and took my plate back and brought me out a fresh baked potato which was perfectly fine, but it's still unacceptable that this wasn't caught before it was served to a customer. The rest of my food--lobster tail, filet mignon, and Brussels sprouts--were perfectly fine. I hate to have to leave a bad review, but this is truly awful. read more

I went for lunch today because I was in this area. Upon entering, the host greeted us with a large loud belch and then said, "excuse me." I ordered the French onion soup and chicken sandwich. The soup was as salty as brine. The strawberry lemonade was not same as other locations so I sent that back for a coke. The individual, who appeared to be the/a management, was walking around with a bottle of ketchup in his back pocket. I am sure that was against all sanitary procedures. On the better side, the waitress was pleasant and working several tables and the bar, I eat at a Longhorn frequently in Fredericksburg and this did not match it by any measurement. Yikes! read more

Our experience was less than exceptional. The first thing that happened was the hostess gave away our table after we used the waitlist feature (which they encourage). While we waited for a new table, my girlfriend and I noticed that the trash can next to the hostess station was overflowing with trash and had spilled out to the floor. That's not something that a customer would want to see as soon as they walk into the restaurant. We finally sat down and ordered our soft drinks and when they came out, they were in plastic cups, rather than the traditional drink wear that everyone else in the restaurant had. We placed our meal orders and I asked for a salad with no tomatoes. The salad came out full of tomatoes which I had to pick out. Me and my wife, quite frequently longhorn, and short pump over the years we go about once a week here lately the service has been absolutely terrible. The waitress that we had yesterday was unprofessional and impolite. She goes by the name Lisa she should be ashamed of herself how she spoke to me Explaining to me that they're currently short staffed. You never supposed to do that be apologetic and move on, but we sat there for 20 minutes, waiting to be seen, and once she got to us, she was very unprofessionally and impolite like it was my fault that the staff situation is not up to speed. You can't run a business like that. This restaurant has been a staple in our community for some time, but with help like this, I can't see myself going back for a long while. read more

This would be 3 1/2 stars if Yelp had more options. Here's the punchline up front -- food, 4. Service, 3. We arrived and were seated at an accessible table without having to wait - a big plus at 7 PM on a Friday. The business was average noisy but not loud. We ordered a texas tonion (not a typo, that's what they call it) as well as (among the three of us) a ribeye, a new york strip, a filet, a sweet potato, brussels sprouts, a loaded baked potato, fire-grilled corn on the cob, and two salads. All three steaks were of reasonable quality and cooked to requested temperatures. The tonion was presented differently than I was expecting -- not similar to the, um blooming tonion that could be found at Toutback... instead all the onion pedals were individually loose and breaded and fried and spread across a long plate. The flavor was good, the onion pedals were hot for a short while, and there was not enough dipping sauce. Of the sides, the brussels sprouts stood out as unexpectedly sweet but pleasant. The corn was a bit bitter for my taste but my wife really liked it (which was a good thing, as she was the one who ordered it.) The potatoes were decent size and fine, the salads were average with unremarkable dressings. The beer was cold. (Total $122.00 with tax before tip. Hey, it was my birthday meal and I was going to have a steak!) Service was..... fine. Our server may have been having a bad night or maybe she just lacks social skills. Either way she was a person of few words and less interest. No real inquiry on whether the food was right or if we needed anything. We had to ask for things like steak sauce and a tea refill -- both maybe 10-15 minutes after the food was set down. But a few minutes later she did bring a soft drink refill for my daughter without us asking, so that's a breakeven of sorts. She could have sold me a second beer if she had asked. She did show more engagement with us as she brought us the check. How important is any of this? Not very, since there was not a problem with the food. But she was absent enough that I would have had to flag down a different server or manager if there had been. So overall, average service is a generous description. All in all, Longhorn is exactly what I expect it to be.... a chain at a mall that gave us decent food with okay service. Nothing about it said rush back, but nothing sent me away regretful after a birthday dinner either. 3 1/2 stars. read more

Whoever at this location or within corporate needs to take away their online "join the waitlist" and re-word their text messages when letting parties know their tables are ready. We put our name down via online. Got there and then was told it would be 30 minutes, we waited, when back in and then was told it was going to be another 25 minutes.... Because they don't do call ahead seating... So we waited another 25 minutes to then get text saying the table was "almost ready" which didn't say, like most place "your table is ready" blah blah blah, which the host tried to argue and say they sent a text and called our names. There was no seating so we went back to the car so of course we didn't hear our name. And almost ready isn't ready. So then she proceeded to say it's another 20 minutes. We were going to leave but it was a Friday and everywhere else was backed. So once we were finally seated our waitress did not give us the level of service she gave her other guests. I'm not sure if they were having a rough night or not, but customer service needs to improve. Their hosts were also a bunch of teens who need to be trained on customer service. I will start by saying I have never been to Longhorn Steakhouse and thought hey that would be a nice place to take my mother for mother's day. I know better than to go on Mothers' Day so we went to the Longhorn Steakhouse in Short Pump, VA on Saturday 05/17/25 around 3:15 pm. We were a party of 3. The first thing I noticed when we got there it was way to dark in there. it was hard to read the menus. The person who sat us said our server would be right with us. It was about 10 mins before our Server (Raven B) came to get our drink order. Told her we needed a couple more mins to decide and it was almost another 10 mins before she came back with our drinks. She took our orders and the food came out 1 meal at a time. the Salmon order was bad. the baked potato had eyes on like it had not even been cleaned before baked. no one wants to see that while eating and both the potato and fish looked old and dry. We were able to get that order replaced. The server never came back to check on us after that, never removed any dishes we had them piling up. My Mother wanted dessert and had to flag someone down to get our server but when she came by she had the check in hand. When my mother told her she wanted dessert she looked a bit upset about having to get it since she had already had the bill done. I like a good steak and my steak although the wrong temperature tasted good. I didn't say anything about the temperature cause I didn't want to wait any longer. There were people that came in after us getting their meals way before us. I guess our server just didn't feel like doing her job that day. The quality of the food was below par and not worth the price I paid. I gather my first adventure to Longhorn Steakhouse will be my last. The online order was easy to place and pick up. Once I got the text that the food was ready, I only needed to park in one the designated spaces and enter my space number. Within a minute or two of letting the restaurant know that I have arrived, my order was brought out to me. My food was hot especially the small loaf of bread. That was plenty of bread! The ribs were good and I appreciated the extra sauce. The brussel sprouts were unfortunately extremely too oily. I was choking on the oil for minutes after the meal. And to top it all off, we asked for no butter on all of our steaks because my daughter is allergic to dairy and unfortunately my daughter had an allergic reaction about a quarter into her steak. Sunday 7:45pm w Broad St Came to longhorn to use a gif card I received for my birthday. For the appetizer I got the Surf & Surf. This is apparently a new item on the menu and it's actually quite tasty. It consist of a cheese dip with crab and shrimp. I ordered a ribeye with the loaded baked potato and asparagus. Initially I asked for cream spinach but they were out. That was pretty frustrating for me because that's really what I wanted. I usually always order the ribeye. with Ruth Chris or Flemings you can pretty much eat the whole thing , the fat and all is edible. With this steak I found that I was chewing and chewing and chewing and then I ended up spitting it out because it's too tough. This pretty much just wastes the steak because I'm literally just chewing out the flavor. Grrrr Ok, so I ended up complaining to the waiter that although flavorful, the steak was just too much work. So I ordered a sirloin to go. Asparagus was OK definitely not worth the $2.95 upgrade. Baked potato was good. Cooked perfectly. The waiters name is John and even through having to return the steak, he provided very good customer service! He made everything right. Kudos to him! Had a wonderful lunch. Spouse got the outlaw ribeye. It was perfectly seasoned. He got it with the Caesar salad. I got the sound and salad. I love the blue cheese dressing in the salad and the way they cut up the cucumbers and tomatoes. I also got the shrimp and lobster soup. Very good. Originally they were going to seat us at a high top table but we asked if we could sit at a booth instead since it was for our anniversary. After the fact, we realized that our server was also working the bar. But, even given this fact, we never noticed the difference in service. The food is hit or miss. Often overcrowded with large families, you cannot hear anyone at your own table. Pro-Tip; If you have children who are big enough to walk and climb, you need to keep an extra eye on them in a restaurant. I learned this at lunch with my mother when a small girl (3 or younger) came up and sat beside my mother in the booth. She babbled so we couldn't understand what she wanted, but a relative of her's managed to get the toddler gone. No harm, no foul. Twenty minutes later, the same kid does the same thing. This time she looks at a plate of shrimp and loudly proclaims "YUCK! YUCKY! YUCK!" She gets down. I figure the food critic is leaving, but no. No, instead she runs over and sits beside ME. I don't mind, but I'm perplexed as to her goal. At least I was, until she touches my broccoli with her BARE HANDS. It's then that the same adult grabs her and takes her to her ACTUAL PARENT, who had passed on the duty of watching THEIR OWN KID onto a relative. I've been that relative waaaaaay too often and have no sympathy for the parents who brought their child to lunch just to decide they needed a 'break' and could score a free babysitter all in one. Frankly the food was inedible to me the moment it was touched, as I'm a germaphobe and kids always get me sick. If you have money to eat out with and to spend on cocktails, you can have a few less drinks and hire a babysitter. If you can afford your toddler designer wear, you can get a babysitter. Alternatively, you can watch your OWN kids, even in that enviroment, and not pass them off to others. It's also VERY alarming that this child had no inherit fear of strangers. How is this Longhorn's fault? None of the VERY small children were in high chairs. Some sat in carriers on the ground, while others held their child through the meal. The table was by far the loudest, and even the staff mentioned they were causing issues. I won't be going back to Longhorn. At all. Ever. The staff could have informed the party in question that they'd had enough to drink (Lots of empty cocktail glasses), and held their card on file so they could have asked them to leave and still charged for what they ate. I ordered carry out. This was probably the best carry out service I've ever had, they had common sense. I didn't have to ask for silverware or napkins. I didn't have to ask for toppings that were common sense for a burger. Everything was separated, so my food wasn't soggy and my food was still hot when I got home. We came on a Saturday and were informed of a thirty five minute wait. I'm glad we decided to stay because we ended up only waiting about 20 minutes. Our experience only got better from there. Our server was perfect. He made sure we had everything we needed without being annoying (it's a fine line for me). Our steak was cooked just as we wanted (medium well on the salad). Everything came out warm and surprisingly fast. The prices were also super reasonable which I was not expecting for a chain in short pump.
