This is very disappointing. Spent $97.53 for 2 orders and when I got home and opened up the bags it was dry as if it has been on broiled for 7 business day. There's barely any sauce in the bag and certain areas that do get some sauce it was so salty. The potatoes is horrible, taste like it has been sitting in water for also 7 business days (it's just mushy). The more I eat the more disappointing I get. The space was plentiful, but the food was okay. I like how everything was customizable on the menu for the seafood bucket option. For appetizers, we got crab cakes and fried calamari. Both were okay, slightly undercooked. The fried calamari wasn't crunchy and the squid inside was chewy like a piece of rubber. The seafood bucket was good, but I've had better at other seafood restaurants. The drinks here though were good. I ordered a strawberry dachari and definitely enjoyed it. I came here because a friend told me about a promotion that we're having for 1lb shrimp boils. I had never been here before and thought it was a good opportunity to try takeout. I ordered once I arrived and my food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were friendly but did not offer any suggestions when they saw me struggling with ordering the type of seasoning I wanted. I had no clue what they were called and wasn't given a menu to look at. They restaurant had ample amount of seating for those who dine in. Once I arrived home I was finally able to eat. The boil comes in a standard bag with 1 potato and 1 piece of corn. The shrimp were large in size. The garlic butter seasoning was very bland. I thought they would have added some flavor other than just garlic and butter. So I added my own, which helped. If I go back I'll definitely get a different sauce that has more flavor. The Twisted Crab is attached to the mall. It looks pretty recently opened, and when we went in for lunch, there was only one other table seated in the restaurant. It was pretty quiet, but everything was clean - the tables had disposable paper on the tops, and our server was friendly. We ordered a fried shrimp lunch special with sweet potato fries and 1/2 lb of snow crab. The snow crab came with a corn and a tennis ball sized potato for about $16 - not too bad! Food came out fast and fresh. The fried shrimp were crunchy and decently sized. The sweet potato fries were waffle cut, which was a nice surprise. I expected by the pricing that the crab would be frozen, and that's fine. I was a little disappointed by how mild the sauce was. I went with mild because I wasn't sure what the spice increase would be like and thought that would be a good start, but it was pretty bland and mostly just salty. The crab was a little overcooked and flaky, the potato was perfect, but the corn was mushy and seemed previously frozen. I would still come again, because I'm sure that since the restaurant is new they're still working things out. I would definitely opt foral a higher spice level on the sauce, or try one of the other sauce options. Our server was incredibly friendly, and everything else we had was tasty! read more

Was basics not worth $ I would not try again went there just to try new food. I had the oyster basket and the shrimp basket was basic fried food with onion rings and Cajun fries. I would not recommend this to anyone. The service was not good. The waitress missed up the orders. Our friend had asked her to give her a check for her daughter and herself. They charged her card for almost $200. They refunded her the money, but it did not instantly go back on her card. Even though it was their error, they asked her to pay with another card, which she did not have. The manager mentioned calling the police. We asked her to remove the tip off the bill, which they did. I had given my friend my card so that her bill could be paid. I then asked them to remove the tip off my bill also, which they did. Plus they gave me a $50 gift card, which I will not use at the store. We may try one in Newport News or Hampton. This is a go-to, easy seafood boil restaurant. I come here for lunch usually, and, sadly, it's never busy. I'm often one of only 2 or 3 tables, perhaps because of the location? think my prior review was deleted because they don't want people knowing the truth about them! I am a former employee, if you visit here often you know of me and I've probably made your dining experience 10% more better because of my customer service my name is jade and I was fired for telling my manager he was very unfair after he gave away a party that was supposed to be mine. Overall this is a terrible establishment! The boss is a terrible manager he refuses to give corporates # to any customers or even his staff. The kitchen staff doesn't use gloves AT all! They cut the produce with no gloves and serve the food with no gloves, I've seen them scratch themselves and pull out wedges then go back to making the food which is why I don't eat from there anymore. The manager is very unfair when it comes to tables, side work and party rotation & is just overall a horrible person! There was a host saying he touched the top of her shirt near her boob inappropriately. I'd been dying to try this place since they opened and was unsuccessful. When we walked, in people were singing karaoke and dancing; seemed to be having a great time. I told my friend we came to the right place but boy was I wrong. We approached the host podium on a Saturday night at 9pm. She quickly informed us that they were no longer seating people and it was almost 11 the time they close. I took a quick glance at my watch to make sure my time wasn't off and it was a little after 9, nowhere near closing time. I told her that it's 9pm and we drove a bit of distance and really wanted to dine there. She then said the manager told her to turn people away and there were people already on a waitlist to come back. I've been watching this place since I saw the sign saying they were opening in 2 weeks. We came yesterday (11/10/22) and of course they were empty. EMPTY! No big deal for us. We were greeted immediately and I wish I got the guys name that was working. He was beyond helpful and nice. He didn't rush us and answered all our questions. We ordered a basket of Cajun fries, the mini boil bag with the twisted sauce medium, Dungeness crabs and black mussels with the twisted sauce hot, Calamari basket and buffalo wings. The Cajun fries came as soon as we were seated good. The calamari came next then our bags and the chicken wings since we ordered them fried hard. They can come naked or breaded we got naked for the little one with buffalo sauce. I dug into the calamari first. It was lacking flavor for my liking. No aïoli sauce which isn't a deal breaker and you didn't get many. Again isn't a deal breaker seeing how I had more food to eat. Let's get into those bags!! First bite of shrimp! OMG the flavor was there!! The flavor you could see!! You could smell!! The flavor was NOT lacking!! We both had one corn and one rustic potato. Which again isn't a deal breaker. The corn was cooked perfectly and the sauce gave it so much flavor! I tried his hot version of the twisted sauce and that heat was good. Not an over kill but hot enough to know it was there. The chicken wings were good!!! Not too hot for a little kid. The Cajun fries were seasoned well enough you didn't need to add more to the bottom fries. Our waiter made sure our cups were never empty. The place was empty but very well lit. The seating wasn't too close and the music that was playing was beyond good! We were jamming and eating. This is one of my new spots to eat at now.
