Rarely am I so ambivalent about a restaurant. I simply don't know how to best rank it because it is a reasonable meal at a good price with exceptional service, but there is absolutely no wow factor. In Miami there are just so many wow factor restaurants. So I am resigned to giving it a average rating as it is a restaurant that is OK, but I am not hankering to go back. This LongHorn Steakhouse is in my neighborhood, which makes a particularly appealing destination. I can drive there in minutes. The menu was easier to read. It has the usual steakhouse choices and a few additional items. I was a purist tonight. I wanted a steak and I wasn't in the mood to cook it. I ordered the bone in ribeye cooked, medium rare. It arrived medium, but I didn't feel like complaining. As always at Longhorn it was oozing butter on the top. I don't mind a steak that is basted with butter during the sear, but I don't want to see it running down the steak and this seems to be standard at Longhorn restaurants. I also want a steak at least as good as I would serve myself at home and this is a reasonable well trimmed choice steak, no better no worries than what I get locally at the markets, but not up to the standard of the better markets. I ordered it with a loaded, baked potato and Caesar salad. The salad was delicious and the potato was quite good as well. The steak should be the main event, but it was simply not spectacular. Relatively thin cut, but well trimmed, it was tasty. But as mentioned it was overcooked for the way I ordered it. Their signature spice blend seemed to particularly garlicky this evening, and that only detracted slightly from the taste of the meat; all in all it was an average meal, hence the rating. We chose to sit outside it being a beautiful Miami evening. The patio looks like an afterthought. The tables and chairs are not particularly comfortable and it is not laid out in a way to make it a welcoming place to sit. The music is too loud to have reasonable conversation. But on a much higher note the waitstaff was extremely attentive, even although we were the only people outside, quite a few people came out regularly to make sure that we had everything we needed. The service was impeccable. We are blessed in Miami with endless choices for dining. Longhorn is perhaps good enough in the sense of a reasonable meal, but does not measure up to the other choices in the area. Doubt that I will be returning. read more

To start, this Longhorn on Kendall drive is a short distance from where I live. My husband and I have been a customer for many many years now. The convenience of being able to have a nice meal every now and then. Regardless of some of the times that they get the meat temperature wrong (we like - medium well) and has to be returned because it's burnt on the outside and completely raw on the inside, we enjoyed the taste. Had to put one star because it wouldn't let me out zero stars!! But on this one occasion, yesterday, never have we experienced this in any restaurant we have ever been to. We were served what we ordered - the medium well Flo steak with baked potato. Looked great, not over or under cooked. My husband takes a piece of meat and tells me that it tastes funny. I ask him to let me smell it and to my displeasure- it smelled rotten!! The server was called and told of the situation (she was very nice and understanding). But the YUCK factor was already in place. Stomach and mouth doesn't want to experience that nasty taste again. Of course we waited for the manager to come and say something. To our surprise - NO ONE came besides the server. Livid is one of the terms I will use. Never have we ever experienced such flaw in a restaurant, very unethical, disrespectful and unprofessional. This is one of the reasons this review is being posted by me. Being honest and truthful, if this restaurant is heading this way - they will not be in business for too long. Aaahh, another BeAuTiFul night in my beloved hometown of MiAmi, and we have a hankering for a steakhouse. With all the median choices at this price point level, Longhorn is definitely a contender. Hmmm...Texas Roadhouse? outback steakhouse? But With an outdoor patio, we check the online waitlist for this random Tuesday at Longhorn so close to our house, and no wait. Good enough! We head out for another Yelpie adventure! Staff: young gentleman greets us immediately and we pick a patio table for us & Ahsoka, service animal. We are served immediately by a nice competent waitress. She brings water for our Ahsoka. Sweet! The "refillable"table bread is always a nice touch, and ice tea also refillable. All good there. Food: The shrimp & lobster chowder is well priced and tasty. Hubby's steak is overcooked and always comes smothered in butter. It's not the best quality, but passable. His sides are loaded baked potato & caesar salad. Music on patio is LOUD, so no easy conversation. There are some nice looking drinks at great prices, but we didn't partake this time. This is for the Kendall Location. Nice cool Saturday night (a rarity in South Florida), the place was packed and with a 20 minute wait we sat at the bar to wait for our table. Had a pretty good Texas Margarita for $6. The drinks here are very reasonably priced. We were sat in the crowded dining room 20 minutes later in a comfortable booth. Chicken firecracker wraps for starters were really good and the dipping sauce was delish. I chose the 12oz ribeye which looked sooo good but tasted, uh, meh. They had run out of most sides like baked potato, brussel sprouts, etc, but they did have yummy asparagus so I went with that. Side garden salad was very large and very good. I love long horn food in general. They have a great selection on the lunch for a good price too. I ordered a burger with an onion soup. And aside from that my favorite combo is the chicken bites that's one of the appetizers and the side Caesar salad. I was disappointed at the fact that I only have a 30 Min lunch break. My daughter had a completely unacceptable dining experience at this restaurant today. My daughter and her friend visited for dinner, and she specifically ordered her steak medium-well, both because of her sensitive stomach and because that is the way she prefers her steak cooked. When the steak arrived, it was rare and bloody. She politely asked the server for a replacement and even said to cook it well-done to prevent the same issue from happening again. When the steak was returned, it was the exact same steak, still bloody and undercooked. By that time, her fries were stale and cold, and they were not replaced. I immediately called the restaurant myself to address the issue while my daughter was still there. I was placed on hold and it took about 10 minutes for the manager to answer the phone, during which my daughter was left waiting. When I spoke with Marissa (the manager), she was rude and sarcastic, stating she needed to figure out what happened with the kitchen and server before taking action, and she gave no timeline for resolving the issue. This left my daughter frustrated, hungry, and sitting at the table with no resolution. Additionally, I would like to mention that the staff refused her original six-ounce steak order, claiming only eight-ounce steaks were available, something I have never seen at LongHorn before. Meanwhile, her friend waited for a resolution out of courtesy and his steak became cold and extremely hard, making it nearly inedible. He couldn't even cut through it with a knife. When my daughter herself asked for the manager she was also very rude, sarcastic and dismissive. My daughter asked the manager, Marissa, why the fries were not replaced, she was told the restaurant was "out of fries," which is both unlikely and inappropriate. They still managed to charge them for one of the meals and were not apologetic whatsoever. The entire experience was mishandled, my daughter and her friend were left with undercooked food, stale sides, and unprofessional, dismissive service. The steak here is amazing--super flavorful, perfectly cooked, and very juicy. You can tell the food is made with care because everything we tried tasted great. I especially loved the lava cake; it was warm, rich, and the perfect dessert to finish the meal. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which really added to the experience. The restaurant itself looked clean, organized, and well-managed, and I liked how smoothly everything seemed to run. Dinner with my wife (a gift from colleagues). I had not been here in Quite some time after being a regular for years. No wait for our table. The star is for our server, Kelly, the fact my wife said her food was "good," (which she walked back and qualified later) and my wine. The rest, frankly, was NOT the Longhorn I recall. This was no bueno. Wife's chopped steak and salad were average. Margarita was good. As for mine. Salad had many browned lettuce leaves (unappetizing) and even a slimy one. Hard pass. Ordered the ribeye, medium rare (my usual order in the past). SHOCKED to hear that horseradish is no longer available (at a steakhouse?). wow The menu pictures what I remember; a steak over an inch thick. This was roughly 1/2 inch thick (I've seen palomilla steaks and even corrugated cardboard thicker than this). Flavor was good due to all the seasoned juice on the plate, but overall unappealing and a disappointment. Had about half of the baked potato (needs way more butter and more care with toppings - bacon pieces that were rock hard and woody pieces of green onion that were equally unpalatable) and about 1/3 of the steak before calling it a night. My wine was excellent, though, as was Kelly's demeanor and service. But Longhorn didn't make my wine (based on my ribeye, I'm thankful). That said, definitely a disappointment. Too many steak houses to choose from (was at Flemings last week) to have a "ribeye" like this, especially for the price (approximately $28). NO manager ever came by the table, no check in (I would have spoken with them and tried to resolve). We simply opted to skip desert and get the bill. I cannot understand the lack of oversight and customer service by management this evening. Sad. By the way, the tables surrounding us got "touched" by the manager, so ZERO excuses. Thank you Kelly for your hospitality. Management - as a long time patron who was hoping to re-establish this as a go-to steakhouse for us, I am DEFINITELY disappointed by the quality of entrees and managerial support tonight. Y'all left Kelly hanging, dealing with sub-par dinners with no communication whatsoever from a manager. Not what we recall at all. Perhaps things will be different if I decide to return. So the food was sub-par my sons plate came with frys which never came and my NY strip was shoe leather way over cooked ( I asked for middium) the service girl was ok which is fine but I think it under new management or something this the second time this is a flop. Don't think we will be coming here again anytime soon. Had to talk to the manager to get the frys comp. The asperges which impress that server nor manger thought of it. I came to eat with my daughter at Longhorn Steakhouse in West Kendall. I ordered Flo's Filet which was very tender and flavorful. I accompanied my meat with a house salad and mashed potatoes. For dessert we got a Lava Cake. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and in my opinion, it has been serving great food for a long time. Finally, the restaurant is very classically decorated and it always looks clean. After moving back to the area, 4 years later, I decided to give this place a few tries because I hadn't had their bread and butter in a long time, plus we were close by. We tried different items on the menu... ribeye, T-bone, salmon and the steaks from the kids' menu. In our first visit, all 3 kids enjoyed their steaks, that sadly wasn't the case the second time. I love salmon but I didn't enjoy the salmon here. It had a glace over it that I simply didn't care for. As far service, we had to wait both visits despite the place not being at all busy. In one of the visits, we had to wait half house for a table that had been readily available since our arrival. Having 3 hungry kids and having to wait that long in a situation that didn't seem needed the long wait, was a bit annoying. Nevertheless we always try to be understanding because We know businesses are struggling with personnel, etc. After two visits, my family refuses to go again but I still love their firecracker chicken wraps (like a lot a lot!) so I'm probably going to return for a solo quick lunch visit. read more

Consistency is one of the most difficult things to obtain in a restaurant, yet this Longhorn in West Kendall manages to do that time and time again! We have been coming to this particular restaurant for a little over a year now and the food is always amazing! Whether it be the chicken or the steak, everything is always cooked to the perfect temperature. Their Flo's Filet is juicy and my fav. We love to ask for their sautéed mushrooms as a side and they never disappoint. They are juicy and plentiful. If you're gluten free (intolerant not Celiacs) their steak and plain chicken (seared) with a baked potato is a great option. You can also have their Caesar Salad without croutons. My husband is GF and those are his go to's. You can even ask what their gluten free options are and they'll bring you a binder with all the allergen information for you to check out. Their chicken is also very moist. Even if you ask them to sear it which adds another mayor of flavor, it doesn't dry out the ckn breast. And if you can't decide whether to order the chicken or steak ask for a combo meal that brings both. It's not on the menu but is available for $30.99. We come here at least once a month and have had exceptional service from Helen, Jazzy, and Aquaman (if you know you know) Ask for any of those servers and not only will you have a great meal, but terrific service as well! read more

Today we really wanted to go out for steaks and after spending the day shopping at Dadeland Mall in Kendall we decided to try the Longhorn Steakhouse. Keep in mind I had dinner Friday at Doral location and wanted to compare. Once we arrived to parking was full of cars (yes, it's Saturday night) inside restaurant we were greeted by a young hostess thay said they can get us a table in 30 minutes wasn't bad so we headed to their bar.. they have a full bar and great bartender that treated to a very good dirty martinis. We were seated 15 minutes later and today fine dining experience started. We ordered Spivey Shrimp that is a good size portion to share because they are quite large. Today I ordered the longhorn steak suggested by our waitress Lourdes which by the way was absolute great all night. At end we ordered strawberry shortcake for dessert. My take on longhorn kendall is they have a great crew that makes everything spot on from restaurant cleanliness, awesome bartending and delicious and all this with a smile on her face. I am writing to express our concern about our recent experience at Longhorn Kendall. We were seated at 2:19pm -when the server Rasak came to our table we asked for the lunch menu and he informed us that we were too late and the food would not come out on time for lunch special. I was so confused as it was just 2:20pm and as per the website and the host, lunch time is until 3pm. I requested to speak to the manager and the GM Walter Penso, came to our table and assured he assist us. We went ahead and ordered a rack of ribs and two glasses of water - we are elderly retired couple. However, when we received our check we noticed we were only given a 10% off instead of the lunch special we expected. This left us feeling disappointed and, unfortunately, as though we were discriminated against. The food was mediocre and the service was awful. Including the fact that the GM Walter Penso did not look nor express himself as such. He was not well groomed and spoke rudely. read more
