I am not fond of leaving a negative review, especially for an establishment that I have only patronized once, but I'm going to make an exception for this one. Let's start with me and my colleague waited at the host station for ten minutes to be seated. Not really a big deal, if the place was popping. It wasn't. We came in around 1530 and there were a few tables seated and two people sitting at the bar. I finally gave up on sitting at a table and bellied up to the bar, where we waited again for someone to show us any interest. I ordered ribeye and sweet potato, which was exactly the same as I've had at any other Long Horn. I ordered it rare, and it did in fact come rare. My colleague ordered a burger and fries. His burger did come out, eventually, albeit without fries. The server said they just dropped the fries and she would bring them out shortly. We both ordered iced tea, which was bottomless and was refilled regularly. My colleague finished his burger and still no fries. It took awhile to get someone to bring us our bill. I got four ice teas, but I can't get my bill? And still no fries. We paid and bounced. They got enough of our time for one day. So why the negative review? They had plenty of help, but the place was chaotic even though it was empty! What happens when this place is slammed? I can't believe they were in the weeds over a steak and burger with no fries. Although us Yelpers pride ourself in doing our due diligence but sometimes it's not always possible and sometimes that's probably a good thing. Its unlikely that I would of stopped at this restaurant during a recent business trip if I would have done more investigating just based on the 2.5 stars. That fact alone shows the impact we can have on a businesses and the more reason not to be reactive or be unreasonable or irresponsible when reviewing a business. It's obvious by some of the reviews this place struggles in some areas but it's also just as obvious that some people struggle with controlling their emotions or possess the ability to accurately make an assessment of the situation prior to writing a review or forbid it that they take any responsibility for the outcome of the experience. We walked in a little after the lunch rush and were seated in the bar area and it was only a moment before we met our server Chris, this guy gets it, his customer service skills are exceptional and hopefully he is being utilized as a trainer and compensated for it. He was the main reason that this lunch experience turned out to be so positive he was very attentive, polite and professional. The food wasn't as impressive as the service although nothing was bad - the bread arrived piping hot and was delicious and the chili was pretty amazing as well so kudos for the starters. The dry rub ribs were very underwhelming and the fries were cold and limp, unfortunately I needed to get to the airport so I let it go and by no means was it inedible just not what I was expecting. Ordered our food and received a used dirty glass with an entire red lipstick print already on it. The manager I don't think grasp the severity of the problem because he was too afraid that we may ask for something free, which we didn't. i am in a family of 8 and we went today the wait was only about 10 minutes which is expected for a big family. Hayden (one of the employee) was amazing he was smiling asking about how we were and was genuinely such a happy person. Then when we went to our table we were greeted by Kylie the service was quick our drink refills were fast and Kylie was serving many tables. The bartender was rude, the place was empty but the bartender just stood there as I waited for him to approach me and ask what I wanted, after waving him down, I said hello and he replied....what do you want? I seemed to have bothered him by waking him up from his nap. The top of the bar was filthy, and tables too. The bar had a musty, dishwater smell and it almost made me vomit. I told the bartender to forget the drink, and that I was leaving. He seemed relieved and no response was made. Very disappointing, because the Longhorn Steakhouse in NJ is the best and this place gives it a really bad reputation. Had a 20 minute wait with only a handful of customers in the restaurant. As we were being seated, I noticed there were piles of dirty dishes/food on multiple tables throughout the restaurant , all of which remained, and were added to, during the duration of our visit. The waitress was very nice and attentive. When my entree was served, not only was it cold, but it was missing 2 of the sides. The 2 sides were replaced with one side which I didn't approve or want. Guess they just assumed I would be ok with whatever they thought I wanted. This used to be a very good restaurant, but there has obviously been a major change in ownnership/management. I'm a former employee who was failed by longhorns Steakhouse. I was forced to quit my job in April or may of 2023. My entire issue was in the management team. The store manager was fired while I was fighting to still keep my job. Manager was fired for sleeping with a young lady ans stealing alcohol. The young lady he slept with I was told was my manager was not my manager. I was lied to and set up for failure. It's so much. The embarrassment I had to endure I still tried to hold my head up and come to work. It was harder by day to endure. I was a frequent longhorn diner but can't face the people because I was mistreated. I want justice served because all I wanted was to work and get my life back. April who is a manager told me I wasnt a good fit for position. It was too much. I went through so much working for longhorns. I can't write it all. Long story short I ended up walking away. I'm also in therapy due to issues this situation has caused me. My utilities were cut off and needless to say depression set in and it's sad. The entire management team sleeping with employees.
