I visited LongHorn Steakhouse for dinner and decided to stop in specifically for their seasonal lamb chops, which I look forward to every year. As expected, they were excellent and cooked perfectly. One thing I always recommend is adding the Parmesan crust to your dish. It's available for an additional charge and adds a nice extra layer of flavor that really elevates the meal. I stopped by LongHorn Steakhouse to pick up dinner to go and overall had a really solid experience. I ordered the spinach dip, blackened salmon with shrimp, rice, broccoli, a sweet potato, and cheesecake for dessert. A couple of items needed to be reheated once I got home, mainly the spinach dip and the salmon, but once warmed up everything held up really well. The spinach dip is easily one of my favorites from any restaurant. It's always a go-to for me. The chips, especially when fresh, are crisp and pair perfectly with it. The blackened salmon and shrimp were both really enjoyable. The salmon was well seasoned and cooked just right, and the shrimp were also cooked well and had a nice seasoning on them. The portion size was more than enough and very filling. The sweet potato was soft and cooked just right. I added butter and brown sugar, which made it even better and went really well with the rest of the meal. For dessert, I got the cheesecake. I really enjoyed it, but the toasted pecans on top were my favorite part. I just wish they added a little more because they were that good. Overall, LongHorn continues to be a dependable option for takeout. Even with a quick reheat, the food still came through and the portions were worth it. Haven't been to Longhorn in such a long time, I had a gift card so decided to use it. I was seated right away, the restaurant wasn't busy, it was still pretty early around 12pm. Ordered the Ribeye medium, it was cooked to perfection and the flavor was also perfect! Had a Margarita (glass) with a shot of Don Julio, it was only $1.99 extra for the upgraded Tequila, was delicious! Last time we'll ever go there. The server told my husband there would be an upcharge to have soup instead of salad, so he chose salad, no problem. When I asked for a side of asparagus the server made no mention that there would be an uncharge of $3.50. They have no happy hour and their long pour for wine costs more than a whole bottle at the store. Server didn't bring the ketchup on the first ask and the fries were cold by the time we reminded her and she finally brought it. Too much pepper on the filet, but the ribs were fall off the bone tender. Apparently one must always ask if there is an upcharge, not worth it. Goodbye! read more

Well, unfortunately when you're dealing with substandard chain restaurants, one can expect hit and miss service and food. The last time my husband and I were here, the food and service was wonderful. Sadly, we had long time friends from out of town joining us for dinner, which turned out to be a fiasco! Burnt food was brought to our table, wrong salad was brought to the table, and one of our friends received two of the same salads, not at the same time. One of our friends received cold mashed potatoes. My shrimp and rice were lukewarm at best. We never have had so much go so wrong at one visit. I can honestly say that we are totally done with this restaurant. Oh, by the way, one of the items my husband ordered was Brussel sprouts, which came out burnt. Disappointed in Longhorn. I have had a number of good experiences at locations throughout Florida thanks to my parents' fondness for the steaks. We went to the Sanford/Lake Mary location for lunch to celebrate a coworker's birthday. I will say it was packed when we sat down (around 12:40). However, it soon cleared out, leaving us to wonder why the kitchen was "backed up". Our server was friendly enough. What we had issues with were food inconsistencies. The burger I ordered medium showed up as well done. I didn't complain about it but wondered why ask us what temperature we wanted burgers at. My coworkers ordered steaks, which were supposed to be medium rare, but they were well done. The outside was charred - like they'd been forgotten on the grill for too long. The server took it back and had the steak remade. It took another 10 minutes, which was attributed to the kitchen being behind. There were only two or three other tables at this point, so I don't quite understand that. The server brought out another side since my coworker ate their original side (after waiting patiently). The whole experience was really off putting. Based on that, I won't be back to this location. Ambiance is that of any other Longhorn - nothing to write home about. read more

We had a large group of ladies meet for lunch to celebrate my birthday on a midweek afternoon. Our server was super friendly and patient considering there was 11 of us. She took our orders in a timely manner and brought us drinks right away. Our food came out fairly fast, cooked to perfection. My steak was tender and juicy. Waters were filled quickly and frequently. I went last week for lunch. Angela took care of us and she was so sweet, she gave amazing service. We felt welcomed and were checked in frequently. The food, was way too salty. I was wondering why my toddler was refusing to eat his food, I thought he was throwing a fit. After so long, I tried the fries and they were not edible! It was so incredibly salty, I felt so bad for trying to make my baby eat them. Unfortunately I noticed this until the end so I felt there was no point in trying to send them back now. My steak was salty but I didn't mind, it was still good since I had it with salad. The lunch chicken sandwiches were tasty and filling. The French onion soup was not good, they should replace it with a broccoli cheddar soup or a chicken soup. It tasted nasty. Overall, they had great lunch specials and good service. Was seated quickly. Went for lunch. Ordered Outlaw ribeye. Steak & baked potato was great. I was very disappointed about paying about $34.99 and not serving it with a side or two. It came with NO sides. I felt totally ripped off. A potato or salad costs very little. I was so angry at how cheap I felt they were Nichol & dining me. Not even one free side. 3 or 4 other people also complained about the same thing. It was very disappointing. I will not go there again for principal. Other steak houses In Their category offer 2 sides weather it's lunch or dinner. No matter how good the food was charging people for a side after spending $35 or more it's totally unacceptable and ripping people off. People feel dissatisfied and jipped not happy being there. Restaurants are seriously lacking in the interests of the consumer market. I waited 30 minutes for a table and my party was about 5 minutes away and could not be seated. The only thing corporations are interested in is more money more money and more money. I put my name on the list I got called to be seated only to be told that because my party was not complete I had to wait longer. What ever happened to customer care or even service. 3stars overall is WAY TO MANNY!! Longhorn Steakhouse in Sanford is the epitome of poor management and dreadful customer service! The so-called managers, Julie and Chris Guernon, handled my situation with utter contempt. I paid $122.41 for a meal on one of the coldest days, only to find out their system glitched and showed no payment. Instead of rectifying the situation, Julie blatantly ignored my receipt and decided that our food could be donated. I commend giving back, but how about prioritizing the paying customer first? I was treated like a nuisance rather than a valued guest. It's outrageous that they refuse to face their customers or admit their faults. Seven of us came here for a Christmas celebration. We just wanted to do an all-out live-it-up lunch and get together before year end. Last year we went to Red Lobster, the year before was Texas Road House, this year we figured we would go a little bigger and choose Longhorn Steakhouse. I called several days before to setup a reservation; however, the host explained that guests are seated first come first serve. Because of this we arrived right after they opened 11:00am, luckily for us the wait was only 5-minutes. We asked if we could have a table in the back because we can get a little rowdy at times (bunch of grown-ass kids, ha-ha), unfortunately for everyone else, they put us at a round table right in the middle of the restaurant. Our server, Faith, was amazing. Although Faith was spread thin working several tables, she was still able to manage all of our needs the duration of visit. The good - plenty of hot fresh bread and butter to go around the duration of our meal. Our appetizers were out fast and were very good. We ordered two Texas Tonion's ($9.99 each) and one Cheddar stuffed mushroom ($11.29) to share. We should have ordered two of the mushroom apps and one of the Tonions, because there are not enough mushrooms to feed seven and not everyone ate from the Tonion pile. The bad - The double's we ordered were not very strong. The three whisky drinkers in the group all agree the drinks were weak. One from our group ordered the French Onion Soup ($2.99) and said they put way too much cheese on top. Most of it ended up going in the trash. The chefs are WAYYYYYYY over seasoning the steaks. WAAAAY too much salt! Also, one in our group ordered their steak blackened with sautéed onions and mushrooms ($2 add-on). The mushrooms and onions were so salty he couldn't even eat them. He started coughing as soon as he put them in his mouth. I tried a bite and yes, they were salty as hell. He scraped the mushrooms and onions off and they too were tossed. Steaks were also not sent out at the proper temperature. Two steaks requested for medium; the 12 oz. NY strip was cooked almost well done, and the 8oz Renegade more med rare. I went all out and ordered the 22-ounce Longhorn Steak ($32.79) cooked med rare. When it arrived, it was almost well done. I had to send it back, there is no way I can pay this much money for an overcooked steak. Management apologized and cooked me a new steak. It was cooked perfectly this time around. I have to say I cannot believe this steak is 22 ounces; I ate the whole thing and was not even stuffed. Normally I order a steak this size and there is enough for two people to share. It is just hard to believe that 22oz is the real weight before cooking and I ate it all plus all the loaded potato and other items. My side item was the loaded baked potato; although it was delicious, loaded it is not, when compared to Texas Roadhouse, you guys really have to do better here. Where is my extra cheese, sour cream, butter, and bacon? Overall, our meal was good, but had the potential to be great. The service was exceptional, thank you Faith! Would I come back again? Yes, but honestly, I prefer Texas Roadhouse. You get more bang for your buck there, they serve larger sirloin portions, and have delicious Prime Rib. The chefs at Longhorn really need to taste what they are sending out to their customers. Our server Melissa earned 1 1/2 stars of the 3. Came with our neighbors, we drove separately, 8 people. Wouldn't seat the first people to arrive until "our whole group was there". In an EMPTY restaurant. 6 of the 8 dinners came out, 2 people sat and sat. 3 people had steak, you know the thing they do here. Two had to be returned. You know, at the place that "does steak right". One was cooked more (bloody red is not medium well) and the other steak was replaced but took so long everyone else had finished. No "sorry about that"...almost an air of pride that they brought a new one. Lukewarm soup, nearly inedible salty dish, snippy attitude by the manager. BUT...in fairness...some of the food was really nice (baked potatoes, salads). Melissa was very attentive. Surprised at the low rating because we had the best time at longhorn for dinner. Went for my boyfriend's birthday and didn't have high expectations but they were exceeded. Bread was your regular run of the mill honey wheat but tasty. We got the wild shrimp which was a tad salty but delicious. My mother in law and I got the Parmesan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and the strawberry salad and EVERYTHING was fantastic. The chicken was probably some of the juiciest I've ever had. The salad had great balance. Potatoes were creamy. My boyfriend got the longhorn steak with a lobster tail and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. They gifted him a hand written card and a sundae but we ordered a cheesecake and a molten lava cake in addition to that and the desserts were fantastic! Service was slow to start but our sever definitely made up for it with attentiveness and kindness. She was great! Only recommendation I would make is just polishing up the booths and the dining room could have been a bit cleaner. There were crumbs in the booth and fingerprints on the menus and windows. The lamps at the table could be dusted more regularly as well. Overall though- I would eat here again. read more

We left the Roadhouse Grill after being told the wait was going to be 45 minutes. So, we went around the corner to the Longhorn Steakhouse. There, we were told the wait would be 30 minutes. After 40 minutes, we approached the desk and were told four parties were still ahead of us. Another few minutes passed, and two separate couples walked in, and both were immediately seated. By this time, we had been there 45 minutes. We walked up to the desk one more time and asked why other recently arrived couples were seated ahead of us. The hostess replied that she had called us, but we did not respond, so she deleted us. We were at the desk 10 minutes beforehand and could not understand this reply. The manager, John, was called over and, without looking at us or offering any explanation, told the hostess to put us in 31, the table number we supposed, and he briskly walked away, clutching a small microphone in his right hand up by his chest. Once seated, it took another ten minutes for the order taker to come by (Eric) and ask for our drink order. However, we stated we needed to order the meal at that point as we had already been at the restaurant for 50 minutes without eating. There was a brief delay, and he said, "Please take as much time as you need, and I will be back." We did not see him again for another 10 minutes. We ordered a Steak Filet. We asked him how it was, and he replied he had never eaten at the restaurant and wouldn't know! We additionally ordered asparagus and broccoli. He said the asparagus was an additional $2.99, and were we sure we wanted it? I said, "I can afford it." He waited there at the table, looking at me with a blank face. I asked if there was something wrong. He replied that the question required a yes or no answer. Incredulous! The appetizer and soup came out with only a few minutes delay. Yeah! However, it was after 9:00, and we had been there almost two hours. After we had finished the appetizer and waited another 20 minutes without seeing the waiter, we again approached the desk. The host explained that the kitchen was backed up with orders and ours would be out shortly. Five minutes later, the main course did arrive, but by that time, it was nine-thirty, and half the patrons had already left. (So why was the kitchen backed up). The asparagus was excellent, but the broccoli was "al dente." The 9oz cuts "of the richest and most succulent cut of meat we offer" were puffed up in the middle as if injected with water, and it was far from juicy and easy to chew. It was a challenging piece of meat. The chef did get the color right; it was the perfect pink inside. The fact that a $35 cut of steak filet doesn't meet $35 standards is almost icing on the cake. But wait, there is more. The waiter flies by without stopping until we say, "Eric, please, the check." It takes him only a few minutes to bring the check. We insert our card, and he grabs it and rushes off without a word. And I lie not; it takes him 15 minutes to return. He delivers it by rushing by the table and throwing it on the table till it slides halfway across. I told my wife, "No tip." The service and food did not meet the most humble of expectations. She insists; so be it. Yes, dear, but I left that restaurant after being subjected to an outrageous over three-hour experience, vowing never to return. read more

The signature Ribeye is the way to go! Beautifully cooked and seasoned without the need for any kind of sauce. It's best to eat it nice and slow so you can enjoy every mouthwatering bite! We sat in the bar area at the high top tables behind the main counter area so we could have a larger space for more people. We were greeted right away by our server and drink orders were taken. It didn't take long for them to bring out orders as they were given. People from our group arrived at varying times as we were all just meeting up once we were able to from work or other things prior. The restaurant itself was quite, but it was early for dinner time so that wasn't surprising. The staff was all friendly and the whole area was clean and nice. My friend and I wanted to switch things up for lunch today. Instead of prepping our food for lunch today, we decided to place a to-go order at Longhorn Steakhouse. I selected a 1:10 pm pick-up time and ordered their crispy buttermilk chicken sandwich with a side Caesar salad. I also added in the comment field that I wanted the chicken tossed in buffalo sauce (if possible). We arrived around 1:06 and headed straight to the bar area. Our food was brought out to us maybe less than 5 minutes after that. We were handed our receipts and the lady said, "everything circled on the receipt is included in the bag". Due to this, I didn't feel the need to thoroughly check the contents. Here I am at work getting everything out...and pretty much salivating from hunger...no silverware! :( No biggie... I found some. Now onto the FOOD. The sandwich was delicious! The breading to chicken ratio was on point. The seasoning was just right- not too salty. It wasn't soggy at all either! That's a big pet peeve...soggy crispy chicken, there shouldn't even be such a thing! To my surprise, there was a small cup filled with thick sliced potato chips with a little melted cheese and bacon. These were tasty, but soft and kinda chewy. I'm thinking it was because it was trapped in a plastic box for a few minutes on my trek to work (?!). If these were crispy, they'd be a 5/5.
