I had been waiting to try Chicken Salad Chick for a couple of years. I was recently sent a promo for a free scoop, so it was time to drive to the Lake Mary location. I ordered a scoop of the Fancy Nancy . It's advertised that it comes with apples, grapes, and pecans. Upon entering the location, the first thing that I noticed was an odd, almost moldy smell. Maybe it was new carpet? I'm not sure, but it was a little off-putting. The decor is cute and welcoming and it was very clean. I was greeted immediately, given my order,and thanked. The scoop came in a small cup with several packs of crackers. The flavor was good and it tasted fresh, however there was only 1 piece of apple, 2 grapes, and 1 pecan. My new obsession! I had to visit CSC after seeing so many videos on social media. I ordered the two scoop plate with two sides. I got the buffalo chicken salad and the lemon basil. For sides, I got the grape salad and the broccoli salad. The plate was a huge potion and it came with tons of crackers, a cute cookie, and a dill pickle spear. The salads had tons of flavor. I loved the Greek version on a croissant with lettuce & tomato. I tried both the past salad and the grape salad and so far the grape salad is the winning side. The staff is always friendly at this location. The pacing of the food is a bit odd. Our group each received their meal individually over time. It felt a bit weird that one of the people at our table didn't have their food for a while. It got to a point where I thought they had not ordered anything. Eventually the food arrived, and the staff apologized for the delay. They weren't busy at all, so it was just odd pacing. The Classic Carol is my favorite. I love the Chicken Poblano soup. We picked up several of the individually wrapped frosted cookie. Expensive at $2.79. Doubtful we'd buy them again. Considering the $8.95 regular price, we'll probably stick with Two Jay's chicken salad. They open at 10:30 :) I was a bit nervous coming right at open because I have had experiences where places "open" at a certain time but aren't ready to start actually working. Nope. Not this place. Right off the bat, upon entering the restaurant it is very clean and a very welcoming "at home" kinda environment. The cashier Callie was SO friendly and helpful. I don't think I've ever had a customer service experience as great as this one with her. You can tell she truly loves her job. Now the food. OMG. I JUST finished my meal at my desk at work. My friend and I decided to head on over to finally see what the rage was about. We walked in around maybe 12:35 pm or so. It was definitely in the middle of the INSANE lunch rush. Tables were filled and the line hit the entrance door (by the time we were ordering our food). Then someone came from the back and handed a bag to a lady sitting nearby, who she apologized to for the extended wait and provided her with a gift card for a free scoop...very nice! Good customer service there. Okay, a few more people were called...then I asked someone to kindly check on my order. They go to the back and say, "Oh! I see your name, we are just SLAMMED, so sorry". Okay...no prob. You know what happens next, after a few more people coming and leaving with their delicious food to be devoured in seconds, I ask Carol to please check on my order. She glanced at my receipt and said, "I don't recall seeing that name"...well crap. FINALLY, they brought my meal out 17 minutes later with no apology. Just handed it to me. Moving on....THE FOOD The food was delicious! I was impressed with how tasty everything was. Not gonna lie, as I was eating, I momentarily forgot about the ridiculous wait I endured. I decided on getting just a scoop of the Classic Carol, with a side of the broccoli salad. The Classic Carol was VERY good. The scoop was just enough to fill me up (I didn't eat it on a sandwich or anything...). It wasn't too salty and had just enough mayo. The broccoli salad was soooo tasty. It was tossed in this amazing dressing (a little sweet) and combined with shredded cheese AND topped with bacon. Yep. Lastly...the cookie. I'm "watching my figure" I GUESS, but this little guy wasn't going anywhere besides down the hatch. So...imagine those super soft sugar cookies at the grocery store with the colorful frosting and sprinkles.... It's at the same level of magical-ness as those. I've been going to Chicken salad Chick ever since they opened in Tampa Florida. My best friend and I had to be up in Lake Mary Florida to take care of some business today. When our order was complete we asked them about a veterans discount as I am a disabled veteran. The girl had to find out about it first and foremost and came back and told me we don't offer such a thing when I know good and well all of the restaurants in Tampa which are corporate stores and franchise stores offer a 20% veterans discount! I asked her to check with her manager to be certain about that and she said I just did so rather than argue that I went ahead and paid the full amount which was $42. We got back on the road on the highway and I decided to call the manager when I called him I told him I wanted his franchisees name and telephone number and he asked me who I was and I told him that I was a customer and he didn't need to worry about it I told him once again I wanted the franchisees name and number he asked me why I wanted it I said he didn't need to worry about that and he hung up on me unceremoniously! Now you want to talk about unprofessional? I maintain my composure when I was there in the restaurant and I maintain my composure in the car after the young man hung up on me but for him to be a manager and in a position of authority is absolutely absurd in any shape of the word! Needless to say I'm highly upset by this and this derogatory treatment as well as being blatantly lied to. I intend to try and contact once again the franchisee or at least get a number for him where I can discuss all of these issues with him and get his input. This is my second time experiencing this deliciousness! I have tried the bacon ranch and the buffalo chicken salads and they are mouth watering. They have so many options of how to serve the salads. On a breading, in a scoop, on lettuce etc. Their side options compliment the chicken salads. Their broccoli salad is tasty. I did have their pasta salad and it was not a hit for me, but that's ok. When I went there for the first time, I had a young girl greet me and ready to take my order after I asked what her recommendations were. She then left the front counter without saying a word, so I was confused by that. Then a different girl came to take my order. She took my order and then told the next customer that she had to wait for a different person to take her order because she had to clock out. I get it, they seem young, but there needs to be better training and more courtesy.
