Generally, I avoid any chain steakhouses. Steak is a luxury and needs to be taken seriously. Of course, those place will cost you a lot of money. However, I had found myself at a Longhorn Steakhouse in Orlando...and, unhappy with being there, ( yep, I'm a food snob when I dine out) chose the cheapest steak on the menu, believing the chain would likely ruin the meat anyway. Much to my surprise, they served me a perfectly cooked flat iron nicely seasoned that wound up being my new favorite go to cut. Glad to have been wrong. So despite my usual reservations, we came to the Wilmington location, where I once again felt that I just could not trust going for the higher priced cut. I wound up with the Sirloin and red rock shrimp combo with upgraded sides of crispy Brussels sprouts, and my wife opted for the Flo's Filet. We both ordered our steaks medium rare. She ordered a decent glass of wine, nothing to write home about, and I managed to find a nice Dogfish beer. Not the best place is you are a connoisseur of fine wine and beer...but serviceable at least. To get right to the point, the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned nicely. The upgraded sides were worth the upgrade, crispy and delicious. The shrimp were more of a surprise as they were also perfectly cooked and seasoned...something I really didn't expect. So, nice surprise. And the fact that I'd ordered the cheaper sirloin did not mar my enjoyment...they cooked it in a manner that made it taste like a better cut! Service was good...but a slight glitch with my wife being brought the wrong salad, which the server apologized for, and then left up on the divider and disappeared never to return with the proper salad. I flagged down our waiter, who was mortified by this, and corrected the matter quickly Unfortunately, I'd already finished my salad and our hot food had just arrived. Normally this would have set me off and ruined my dinner, but our waiter was so gracious and polite...and corrected the matter in seconds. Then, the really nice meal arrived and we were both happy with our steaks, so overall it was a small glitch. This location has plenty of parking and I really like that you can JOIN THE WAITLIST before you get to the restaurant. This allowed us to arrive shortly before we could be seated without having to wait too long. If you are looking for high end steak, this isn't the place...they serve CHOICE steaks, really nicely cooked and seasoned at a reasonable price. The sides are good, service is good and you will have an enjoyable meal. I won't think twice about eating here next time. The chain proved to me twice that I can order a lesser cut of meat and STILL be quite happy and satisfied. read more

This was my first time visiting this restaurant with my kids. There was no wait, the food was delicious, the ambiance gets a thumbs up, and the server was adequate. I can only speak about the Strip that I had and the Strawberry Salad. They were delicious! The steak wasn't cooked the way I asked. That should be improved. I asked for medium, and it wasn't pink at all. However, it has good seasoning! Also, there are premium sides that are an up-charge so watch out for that. The server acted like I should've known this, but I didn't and it was disheartening. Oh well. They have delicious raspberry lemonade, and the slight bite I had of my son's molten cake, for dessert, would make me come back again! Just had dinner at Longhorn steakhouse on Concord Pike. Let me begin by saying our service was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Our server ,Will, was more interested in collecting new orders than serving the people that have already been delivered food. We ordered stuffed mushroom appetizer that was served cold. We sent it back to be warmed. Our dinner was then served to us immediately without the salad being served first, or the mushrooms being brought back. We then stated we no longer wanted the appetizer as we have just received our dinner entrée and to cancel the mushrooms We also stated we had not received our salads. Our waiter, Will, never once came back to our table to check on us or apologize for the tardiness of the meal. He left us very uncomfortable at our table. We then called the manager and spoke to Courtney who was lovely. She understood all of our concerns and was more than willing to make it right. She did remove my husband steak from the menu as it was all gristle and she did remove the stuffed mushrooms from the bill as well. She offered us dessert which we declined. This is such a shame because we have eaten here many times and never have had an experience such horrible service. We told the manager that we would not tip this individual as he left us uncomfortable and neglected. Courtney totally understood and once again apologized. It's a shame that he left a family experience less than pleasant. We will not return. read more

We had a great dinner here last month. Our server was on point and the food was all delish. Those brussels sprouts with the smoky honey butter - talk about yummy! We have been here three times for lunch and find it a great value for lunch. Each time our meals, that included soups and salads were tasty. However, the service has been slow and inattentive each time. Yesterday's visit was the worst of the three for service. It appears the waiter had more table than he could handle. We went here for hubby's birthday Monday early evening. Hubby had the sirloin and shrimp meal with asparagus and sweet potatoes. I had the ribeye with asparagus and loaded baked potato. Our meals were okay my ribeye was little underwhelming, the asparagus and baked potato were really good. Hubby said his steak was okay needed seasoning. I don't usually eat out because I have Celiac Disease and cannot digest gluten and restaurants give me so much anxiety bc of cross contamination. I went yesterday for my nephew's graduation celebration and had a lovely experience. There were plenty of options on the gluten-free menu and my waitress Kiana was so reassuring that she would make sure my meal was safe. The parm crusted spinach dip with the pita chips were good. I wish the pita chips were soft all around some were hard with soft textures around. She did things like throw coasters and the bill on the table, when i handed her my id she tossed that on the table as well,Got our drink orders wrong, and denied multiple request for a to go box. This restaurant is a absolute disgrace, not only did it take almost 45 minutes to get our food. The food was subpar the steak, I asked for medium well was almost rare. I wouldn't be surprised if it got up and walked away it was basically living. Our waiter was not rude but under trained he didn't give the members at our table refills until having to be asked after walking past our table many times. I have been here twice in the last month and a half, the first visit was impressive, the second was not great. I went here with my wife the other day and the wings were great, everything else but so much. Continuing with the food I had the porterhouse. Filet side was great. Strip side was beaten with a mallet so the texture of the meat was disappointing. As far as the service goes I wasn't treated for over 5 minutes probably because my server was busy or she didn't great me because my wife wasn't there yet. Either way I wanted to order beverages and a first course but not a big deal. We get our wings. We don't have plates but our server grabs them fairly quickly, so no big deal. Haven't gotten bread yet. We eat our wings, then we get our salads. Eat half the salads and we decide to ask for the bread, "it's in the oven" . We get it soon after, not a big deal. We get our entrees from the food runner, a little while later our server checks in on us and I ask for the corn that I ordered " it's on the way". So now I'm getting annoyed. One reason is that my steak was med rare but also med well and like I said the texture sucked because of the beating it took in the kitchen. The other reason is just say your sorry/ I apologize/ my fault/ our mistake, something to take ownership of the mistake. I shouldn't have to be midway through my second course to get my bread, shouldn't have to be halfway through my entree to get my side dish. My first experience brings my rating of my last visit up.
