Went on a Thursday night. Bar was crowded but managed to find a seat. I was immediately greeted by a very pleasant and accommodating bartender named Nina. Food was awesome, drinks were just as good. Though very busy, service was even better. I have always appreciated bartenders who, even on nights when getting slammed, are personable, polite and attentive. Nina is one of those bartenders. Good sized chain restaurant, first time going here. Lots of room for groups, and there is an open kitchen concept so you can watch food being cooked up. Staff were great with a group. Tried the deviled eggs and chimichurri shrimp appetizers. Deviled eggs were very straightforward and pretty bland, though the piece of bacon added some flavor. The grilled shrimp with chimichurri was tasty. Grilled salmon salad for main course and it was average. Chopped up and tossed in the dressing, with a pretty dry piece of salmon. This place was a lot nicer/fancier than I remembered. Very nice atmosphere. My Colorado chicken salad was super good and the server was happy to accommodate a couple modifications. Horrible service! Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. When our drinks arrived, the waitress placed everything at one end of our table and expected us to pass the items down ourselves rather than walking to the other side to serve everyone. After our meals were delivered, it took 5-10 minutes before she returned to check on us. My burger was missing the mayo and yellow mustard that I had requested, and I had to flag her down to get the condiments. When we were ready to leave, we again had to flag her down just to get our check. We also noticed the table behind us having to do the same. Been to several Firebirds locations across the country and decided to stop in for dinner. Had a great experience. It was a bit cold so decided to have some potato soup which was excellent. Entree was brought out while we were eating our salads and appetizers and placed almost on top of our salad and appetizers as we were still eating. So....we had to choose which gets cold first, either our remaining $20 appetizer or our $50 entrees. Drinks were not kept up with. Might come back for another try - we've had good experiences in the past, but we will need to have a discussion with the manager just to set some simple expectations/instructions for our meals next time. Being a chain, we had fairly low expectations, however the food was surprisingly good (although the portion size is far too large). Salad were crisp and fresh, appetizers tasty and not too greasy, and our mains were cooked and presented well. The tables feel a little grubby and could do with a very deep clean or a refinish. Great food and service! We had a retirement celebration with about 25 people in the Firebar area on a recent weekday afternoon. Eric, the Manager, was so helpful and pleasant to work with in planning/selecting the food menu. Guests raved over the food from the catering menu (appetizers, main entrees and dessert trays). Normally we have had good experiences at firebirds but today was different. I ordered the meatloaf and the meatloaf was cold. The rest of the dishes came out fine. The server took it back and reheated the plate and brought it out. The dish wasn't re-prepared and the other food was dried out. Someone from management should have checked in and we were offered nothing for the inconvenience and disappointment in our dining out experience. Arrived on a saturday Morning while visiting delaware..it's located right on the boarder of PA & DE so very convenient & we frequent Firebirds often...upon arrival it smelled SO BAD of burnt food. took server over 10 min to stop by the table, table was very sticky.. they gave us a wipe and said this is a frequent complaint here, then the grill was broken so half the menu was unavailable. My wife and I went here for dinner the other night, my wife has a latex allergy and when she asked the manager Eric about it , he had a condescending tone about how he didn't know and was unamused when my wife pointed out neoprene gloves were ahead of the game. Seriously you don't take allergies serious? My wife could die, I feel as a manager you should know the major allergy potentials and how your company is ahead of the game. All in all a disappointing visit. We like Firebirds but eat they infrequently as it is a bit pricey for our budget and we only want a good steak every now and then. We went for Mother's Day lunch. We both ordered the 7 oz Filet Mignon, mine medium rare and my wife's medium. After a decent wait our food was delivered. Both steaks cooked well past medium all the way to what I would say was VERY well done. The manager apologized and immediately sent them back promising new steaks. After another 10 minutes, 2 new steaks arrived. Both again well done. Salad, sangria, bread, mashed potatoes, and fries were very good, as one would expect. Service was impeccable, and the manager was attentive, apologetic, and took the $74 charge for the 2 filets off our bill. Without all of these positives my rating would be 1 star. Also, when we have eaten here in the past we have been pleased with the cook on the meats and have had nice enjoyable meal. I'll chalk this visit up to a bad day. Perhaps the lunch chef has less experience cooking steaks than the dinner chef. But a place that specializes in excellent cuts of meat should do better. read more

It's been a few years since I was in the Chadds Ford area, but it to to Longwood Garden necessitated a return trip to Firebird. Can I say this restaurant is close to perfect? We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation. No problem; we were graciously seated. Our server was terrific. Our food was perfection (we both had grilled salmon, baked potato and delicious veggies). I asked a passing staff member for directing to the ladies' room, and she said she would show me the way. I thought that was super in a crowded restaurant. The food was hot, the service was outstanding, and the meal perfect. My only note would that the noise level could have been a tad lower.
