The place is very casual tin walls and all, we both had steaks for dinner, both were cooked perfectly and tasted great, the staff was friendly and nice and took very good care of us. Back to the steaks, we had two very different cuts, I had the 32oz steak for 1 and the wife had the 10oz center cut. Both ordered med-rare, both came as ordered, not a ton of fat and not major chunks of gristle. So to the other reviews maybe sometimes cows are different and can be tough. Came here for the first time with my family. Ordered the 64oz Sirloin steak for 2, Fried Chicken Sandwich, and the large Chicken Fried Steak. I asked for my steak to be medium and I knew I was gonna get medium rare to almost rare rare, but the waitress assured me that it'd be cooked to perfection. The steak is priced very cheap for the huge portion that I got, but it was very under seasoned and tough. The steak looked well seasoned, but I had to rely on the salt a lot. The steak knife was a flimsy steak that could barely cut my steak. I was really intending to smash all the steak as a personal challenge, but with the tough and raw flavorless steak that I got plus the slow cutting of the steak and the sides, the food settled in quick and I had to tap out and take home the rest. It was fine because I was able to season the steak more at home with salt, pepper, and garlic and cook it just a little more. I love my steaks to be a perfect medium. The fries were terrible. I saw a table cleaner throw away a plate full of fries and I told my son, wow, what a waste of food. Now I know why that table didn't touch their fries. My son and I love anything potatoes, but these fries were almost cold, soft and squishy and flavorless. There was no salt whatsoever. The mash potatoes were very flavorful and delicious, probably one of the best ones that I've ever eaten and I've had many. Overall, this place is very cheap to decently priced for the food portions. We went here on a Saturday night. The parking lot was full but we got right in. Looks like your typical Texas restaurant. Our waitress was super nice. I had looked at some of the pics of the menu before we went. Prices have gone up. My wife and I both got the small chicken fried steak. Plenty of food and we took some home with us. So I wanted a steak but settled on a chicken fried steak. One of my buddies told me that Longhorn Tavern had a phenomenal chicken fried steak. So I said ok let's go. Atmosphere is great, you can carry on a conversation with raising your voice. Don't overeat the main course the pies are to die for. I ate dinner here with a large group during an extended stay in Bryan. We were greeted promptly, seated, provided menus and drink orders were taken. Polite, professional service throughout the meal. My food was another story. I ordered: Salad - salad was fresh but Ranch dressing tasted watered down. Baked potato - dried out like it had spent a lot of time on a warming tray 6OZ Sirloin - proof that if you cook a poor quality steak to the correct temperature, you still have a poor quality steak. She had a smile on her face the whole evening! She asked for our appetizer order right a way. The mushroom buttons are a must-have! The menu is what you would expect from a down home country restaurant in this pleasant southern community. All the comforts of home... I ordered a New York strip (New York City!!!) When he waddled outside to my table because I had issues with the onion rings, I was afraid his heart was going to have an episode. Stopped by with the family & it was decent. Definitely a Texas vibe from the moment you walk in. The menu is pretty standard fare for a steak place, with steaks (obvs), fried foods, and sweets. The tea was pretty tasty. And the staff were incredibly friendly. But...I like flavor. And this place wasn't it (for me). The fried mushrooms were very deeply fried, with thick batter and essentially melted mushrooms (ie nonexistent). The corn was very bland, like no salt level blandness. The chicken fried chicken was a healthy portion, and well breaded. But I did have to smother it with a bit more pepper just to get the gravy flavors. We asked for some hot sauce or something spice and the server was pretty honest sharing the hottest thing they had was Tabasco; no jalapeños, no chalula, nothing. A little disappointing. read more

I love long horn steakhouse. They have a very good and delicious cheese burger and obviously steaks too. Their fries are a lot bland but nothing some ketchup or ranch can't fix. The service is over All a 8/10 here's why: the host was very kind and helpful and showed us to are tables quickly. The server wasn't all that bad but would've liked it better if she interacted with us a little bit more. It was all that busy and I'm not a picky person so so I was very satisfied with are visit here. The ambiance was clan and steady and not at all loud so you should be able to hear each other talking. I never would have thought to order a chef salad at a steakhouse but after seeing that someone posted a pic on Facebook I figured what the heck let me just try it. Usually get the catfish nuggets, which are very good but I wasn't too hungry so I figured a salad would be a little lighter.. ha I was very wrong... that is one big, filling, very fresh salad. Absolutely disappointed. My husband and I just left longhorn tavern steakhouse. I was super excited to eat here because it seemed like a great hometown restaurant. It's Saturday at 4:40pm, they were busy! Which is usually a good sign. After sitting at the table with my husband and son for a good while, we began to get antsy. I understand restaurants get busy and servers are running around, so we sat. Too many people walked past us without even slightly acknowledging us. Again, I understand servers get swamped but to not even be acknowledged or get a drink order is very irritating. With the amount of servers that passed our table, it was completely unacceptable to have been sitting there as long as we did without even being acknowledged. I'm not giving one star because the food looked and smelled incredible and I'm sure if I got the chance to stay and eat I would have been satisfied but the customer service was a HUGE let down. read more
