07.14.22 special request from daughter #2
May A.

Well stocked and neat aisles [Hau'ula HI] My daughter had a special request for these chocolates and this particular flavor. She said I could find these Hawaiian Host chocolates at any ABC Stores... I purchased two bags at an ABC Store in Waikiki at tourist prices (of course). I saw these same chocolates being sold at Kualoa Ranch too. Then my awesome Yelper friend, Donna O, tipped me and mentioned that they are currently on sale at Long's Drugs! Bless your heart, Donna! Hubby spotted this Long's store at the Hau'ula Kai Shopping Center off of Kamehameha Hwy. We stopped to see their chocolate inventory LoL! Remember my daughter requested this particular flavor, Kona Coffee Milk Chocolate... she said "the green one" LoL! There were 9 bags left so I grabbed all of it. This should last her awhile :) I also purchased some Hawaiian novelty tees w/ nice logos in front and back (for youngest daughter). The aisles are well kept and neat. Shelves are well stocked (they may need to restock the "green" Hawaiian Host chocolates, though) LoL Price comparison: ABC Store $12.99 Kualoa Ranch $14.99 Long's Drugs $7.99 (sale price) Cashier was nice and helpful. They have everything but you pay for it. $$$ I love that they have local items to purchase and medicine.

DISCLAIMER REVIEW FOR POKE ONLY :: I just had the worst…read morepoke bowl I've ever had in my life. I did not go in store to purchase it, someone else brought it home to me. I would've immediately noticed that the fish is NOT worth eating. I'm starving. We are in a flash flood watch. I forced myself to give it a shot, & immediately was filled with regret as I spit it back out. It was disgusting & my "limu poke," wasn't even POKE. It was straight up mush. I'm even second-guessing if it was even ahi. I've never seen poke like that before, how it immediately disintegrated while using my chopsticks to pick it up. Not even the kine that is made to be patty style. I know it's previously frozen, but I have no idea what that was. On top of all of that there was a black hair in my poke. ** As seen in the photo ** My mouth dropped open when I saw the reviews of people raving about how good it is.... then I clicked on their profiles & saw they're all tourist, so of course they like it. As a local, do NOT waste your money. My food went straight in the trash. There's actually no good poke places on this side...even the Tamura's Hau'ula is the worst one on the island. I need to drive all the way to Kaneohe to Kbay Bros to get decent poke smh.

This location has realllyyyyy gone downhill in the last 5 years. They are definitely ripping off…read moretourists (because they can at this location). The poke is not fresh anymore and expensive! You're better off going to Tamura's for groceries and poke! Or somewhere local for poke! Also the young cashiers are weird...
