The place that we love to shop for all necessities is here at Long's, which is now owned by CVS hence the biz name here on Yelp but here in Hawai'i it will always be known as Long's. A place to stock up on the various wants and needs of our daily needs are found here through the weekly Sunday ads keeping it cost friendly for generations along with shopping for gifts and celebrations are found here and being miles away from town I'm sure is the place for many locals shop. Parking here is amazing in comparison from the general Haleiwa location is never gonna be a problem lots of free parking regardless the size of your car and though the roof seemed to be suffering from the recently downpour of rain hoping it all can get fixed so that we can continue to appreciate the staff and what it has to offer this community. Haleiwa Long's CVS Pharmacy is local to many of us here on the North Shore. It has everything you need from meds to snacks and small Meal Prep items. It's rather convenient but a little more expensive due to the touristy area. It's my go to for prescriptions, vaccinations and other health care options. The entire staff here is friendly and they work so hard keeping the lines moving. They've added the new self checkouts but many aren't ready for that yet. So you still see the long lines. I love the self check out. If you're headed to the beach and need supplies and drinks, stop by your local CVS in Haleiwa. read more

Tegaderm! That stuff is an oceanic life saver if you've gotten a cut or scrape that needs to be protected from the aquatic elements. They had an ample supply of it here for a fair price. I also got some reef safe sunscreen while at this location. Side note for the brand I bought here: When All Good Sport Sunscreen is first applied, your look can best be described as "albino chic," but if looking like a White Walker is not your aesthetic have no fear, keep rubbing it into your skin. You will still have a slight pallor but it isn't too bad. read more

Had to drive from Mililani to Ewa Beach for my COVID booster. Pharmacist Yen was very helpful and personable. She took me in earlier than my appointment b/c there was no one in line. She made me relax and the shot didn't hurt a bit. (Can you tell I don't like shots?) After applying the bandaid she gave the area a good rub. Don't r3emember that happening before w other. This is pretty much the only pharmacy on the north shore and it is where the homeless folks like to setup shop. They have limited hours and were closed due to credit card machine outages twice when we were there. The inside if this store is rather small and could use a deep clean and better lighting. Otherwise it is a pretty standard CVS. read more

This store is a life-saver! We were going through our sunscreen like crazy and when we saw a 40% off sign for Banana Boat, oh man. Total game-changer! Best sale I had ever seen at a Longs, Walgreens or CVS. Any drug store, actually. We love that it smells like bananas too. :) The cashiers are all super friendly and nice, as well. They pointed us in the right direction for all of the products we were looking for. We also went to the pharmacy for advice on which brand of anti-inflammatory cream to use for pesky mosquito bites! (Benadryl and/or Cortisone, we bought both just in case to see which would work better for us). Onto of of all of the products and excellent service, this store saved us a lot of money; we didn't buy any of our sunscreen at the resort or at the beaches, which usually had a 5% markup. I would strongly recommend coming here for any sunscreen, snacks, or toiletries that you may have run out of. read more

I can not bring myself to give this place the One Star it deserves. I have been in love with Longs Drugs all my life. I despise the corporation that bought them out and changed the name on the mainland. But out of respect for the Longs family and all the super cool former Longs employees, I couldn't possibly rate this store lower than three stars. At least in Hawaii they kept the Longs name. And some of the stores still have the old Longs layout, store fixtures and some Longs branded products. They carry a lot of Hawaiian products you won't see in the mainland version of the stores, like many varieties of Lion Coffee and a huge Crack Seed selection. That's pretty cool. If you have a half way decent buzz, you can lose yourself for a bit and get your Longs on, temporarily forgetting the ugly reality of who really owns the chain now. But then you get in a long ass line to pay for your purchase. Why is there only one check stand open? The line is eight people deep and you hear the clerk ask the customer she's waiting on if he has the customer loyalty card. When he says no, she offers to sign him up on the spot. Eight people waiting in line, and she's asking this guy for all his personal info, including email address. WTF?! Just like the mainland stores now. Woefully understaffed. Poorly trained employees. "Make Longs a Part of Your Day". Remember that jingle we'd hear on their commercial? For many us of who grew up in Hawaii, Longs Drugs was definitely a part of our day. Way before many of the the bigger, nationally known stores arrived, Longs was, and still is, our go to place. Founded in California in 1938, Longs made it's mark in Hawaii when they opened their first store in Honolulu in 1954. In 2008, CVS Health acquired Longs Drugs, and retained the name in Hawaii. Smart move to keep the name, because it's what we identify with. Today there are approximately 40 stores throughout the state, and although some things have changed a bit since the acquisition, I still find myself flipping through their yellow and red ads looking for bargains. I mean, how else would I know if the Spam is on sale? Right? Gotta have dat Spam, baby! read more

I realize it is difficult to enforce the Covid mask policy with the number of tourists that frequent Haleiwa and enter this store, but their lack of enforcement is pathetic. Almost every time I enter the store there are a number of tourists not wearing masks. Do not frequent this store if it bothers you that other people are not wearing masks. I now go to Wahiawa or Mililani Longs whenever possible. read more

While heading to a wedding on the North Shore, I stopped by Longs to get a card for the bride and groom. It's a very small store that has the usual suspects of everyday household items. If you're a tourist they've got a few aisles devoted solely to food gifts that can be easily packed up and brought home to the family. One thing I noticed was that the signage they have on the walls is really large and makes the store feel even smaller. This must be what Alice In Wonderland felt like as she became increasingly large. Is the extra large signage for the senior citizens or does someone have a size complex related to some other inadequacy? I quickly grabbed my card and was rung up by a less than "happy to be here" cashier. You can not deny someone a transaction if they don't want to show you an ID. That is illegal! You may ask for it but there is absolutely no policy and or law that allows you to threaten customers. There are however several federal laws that prevent you from doing so. read more

Located in the Haleiwa Town Center across the street from Malama Market. This is a decent sized store with everything that most other Long's Drugs stores carry. Parking is ample and there are 2 lots to choose from. I didn't visit for any particular reason... we were waiting for Opal's Thai restaurant to open. I did find that sunscreen (certain brands) was on sale at 40% off, with a $2 coupon! SCORE! I ended up getting a large Banana Boat sunscreen for only $4... DEAL! The lines were super long and they only had 2 registers open... but shortly thereafter another one opened up so the line went smoothly. Staff was friendly and efficient. The store is clean and WELL ventilated... SO COLD and I LOVE it! Recommended! read more

Perfect for a quick stop on your way to the beach! It's a little hard to find because it's tucked into the parking lot. The building itself also looks like every other building in Haleiwa; rustic, old-town. Not your typical Longs building. We would've drove right past it if I had been going any faster & didn't see the huge LONGS DRUGS on the side of the building. Tons of parking & not too many customers. Like most places in Haleiwa, they seem to cater to tourists. Sunscreen & other beach gear are kept right upfront at the entrance. I picked up a can of my usual Banana Boat Kids spray with SPF 110 for $14. I'm pretty sure the same can is only about $10 at Walmart. Nonetheless, I take sunscreen very seriously so $14 is a small price to pay to avoid or minimize sunburn. My friend picked up two cans (the same one as me + one Neutrogena), two personal size beach umbrellas & a bottle of Coke & spent $40. Not bad by Hawaii standards. One female worker helped us while we were walking thru the aisles. They even opened up a new register while we were waiting in line & the young male cashier was nice as well. read more

Hawaii is a very bizarre place. It is the place where Spam is popular, milk costs seven dollars a gallon and Longs Drugs is still around. I remember Longs Drugs back in the day, before they were bought out by CVS. There was one just down the street from where I lived, and I loved it. I was quite saddened when I found out they shut down my beloved store, but now knowing that Long's Drugs still exists (albeit owned by CVS), I am a happy man. The store is pretty small, but offers a bit of everything. They offer the best deals on snacks, beverages and sunscreen. My girlfriend and I stopped in here to grab a few things while trying to find a Thai restaurant nearby, and it was a good stop. It is right along the highway, and very easy to spot. Not a bad store, but it is obviously changed since the pre-CVS days. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are looking for cheap quality goods. read more

At long last, Haleiwa has Long's! Unfortunately, too much of the shelf space is dedicated to tourist related items which reduces the amount of space available for essentials. This is one of the only places in town that gives you up to $40 cashback with your purchase. The other stores must get so many tourists that they disallow it because I asked around and that's what I discovered. Since I only eat organic food, I didn't expect to find anything I would eat in this store. However, I found three things. Organic honey, organic vodka and organic cereal. The Kashi blueberry cluster cereal was a good value, so I bought it and it was yummy too. I will likely return for cash and organic food. read more

So my friends decide to jump Waimea rock and ask me "Where do I get some Locals slippers?". Easy answer - Longs. Bad situation i thought, cus we were stuck in Haleiwa to eat shave ice. CRAP. So we walked into another supermarket that I wished was Longs and ask the worker "You guys get cheap slippers?". He said no, get Longs across the street. WHAT! CHEEE! Lifesaver indeed. I guess Longs bought out the old spot that used to be here and now all my normal stuff I usually get in town for cheap prices are available in the tourist trap capital of the North Shore. I love this place, we really needed a pharmacy in Haleiwa and this one is GREAT! The staff are very helpful with the aloha spirit.

Most of the Longs carry the same merchandise but it's the service that sets them differently. Cashiers were nice as well as the clerks (especially the one who let me use their employee restroom) This location is on the smaller side but doesn't seem cluttered. It took me a while to find this store since it's not right along the highway. It's kind of tucked behind the trees--or maybe I'm just blind. It's next to the old court house though. I can find falsies here too since they're shelves are stocked! Score! The lines were kind of long so they should've asked for others to open up. read more

Formerly the old Haleiwa Supermarket, this is now the home of Haleiwa's latest addition. The long awaited Longs Drugs, or CVS. CVS? Who calls it that? The only CVS I know is on Las Vegas Blvd. The first thing I noticed about this store, is the aisles are a little small. I think they tried to fit everything they could in it, without extending the building. I've been here a few times since they've opened, and noticed that this store doesn't carry the same variety as other stores do. There aren't as many kinds of cereals or salad dressings, for example. Lack of space, or new and still growing? Not sure. There is a petite-sized refrigerated produce section here, as well as a cold beverage section. Like other stores, there's a photo lab up front and a pharmacy at the back. Fisherman beware! There is a fishing supply section here, but some of the items are "theft-proofed." I tried to pull a package of hooks off the hook (that sounds funny) and thought it was stuck. So I tried another, "hey, what the...!" Never mind, I don't need 'em. I guess you have to go ask somebody at the gas station for the bathroom key, chained to a 55 gallon drum, to unlock the hooks? I noticed a "local braddah" trying to pull a bag of hooks, actually rip the plastic bag off the hanging cardboard part. Hooks all over the floor, haaa-laaa! Uh oh! Somebody's in trouble! All of the employees that I've encountered here are very friendly and helpful. I don't know about the photo lab, but the pharmacy and checkout people are super nice. read more

How about those coupons? So lame! My fault for not looking at my receipt before I left, but I had a $4 off $20 coupon and put it next to my Extra Care Card on my groceries. Somehow the cashier found my card but did not find the coupon. The only reason I went there was because of this coupon and I made sure that I spent $20 only to find out that the $4 discount was not taken off. There's a good supply of stuff, including some local perfumes and incense (LOVE the plumeria incense!), good make-up selection, snacks, little necessities, etc. The pharmacy is great, helpful employees, and every checker I've had here has been really sweet. Wow I have been standing in line for 15 minutes the manager has no idea what he's doing.

The prices are a bit higher than on the mainland, but it's Hawaii, so what do you expect? (Expect $7 for a gallon of milk, BTW...) However, I went twice at night and while I found the employees to be curt but helpful, it was the people in the parking lot that had me worried. For one, there was a bum watching every car pull into the lot, and he was eye-ing their cars once they went inside the store. There were a lot if people wandering around and with the dimly lit parking lot, I didn't feel very safe. read more

Then once that is resolved their system suddenly stops working and they want me to come back later, but they don't tell me we have to go ask why we are still waiting. Great location in small town Haleiwa. A nice place to shop without the high prices of the tourist traps. They have just about anything you need or may have forgotten to bring along. They also have a few isles with reasonably priced Hawaiian gifts. Stock up on your souvenirs at Long's. Many locations throughout the state of Hawaii. i'm compelled to add another star to long's review because i honestly couldn't live without this place. where else could i buy ponytail holders, coffee, potting soil, kukui nut leis and dog treats in one fell swoop? they also have a pretty good wine selection and it tends to be cheaper than malama. the cashiers are super friendly and they now have a red box - score. it's truly my neighborhood "everything" store. read more

The store is fine a bit small in the isles & high in prices but the pharmacy, FORGET IT! To get a prescription filled be prepared to wait. If their is any issue, don't think they're gonna mention it until you've spent an hour in the store w/o your name being called and even then you gotta wait in line and ask. I was told they left a message with my doc. I almost had a seizure waiting for my med. Finally, I called my Dr. and she said there was no message, so I had her call them. She has two offices (did they even try)? An hour and 50 minutes later I finally got a refill. Total Haole haters & forget about HIPPA. Just asked out loud what I need this medication for.
