Open 24 Hours! I love Longs, especially when they have their sales. Who doesn't like a sale? I mainly go here for home goods and food items, again when they're on sale. 88 cents for a can of tuna, $10 for 20-lb bag of brown rice, 2 for $5 woman products, I mean I can't complain. The store is pretty well maintained and organized. There's employees floating around if you ever need help so that's nice. Also, don't forget to use your CVS card if you have one. Sunday lines are CRAZY!!! Two cashiers and lines with more than ten people. Try to find someone to ask a question such as are the advertised items sold out? Good luck. And it took me three trips to my car to load my items because the wheels on the cart locked at the sidewalk. Went back in to tell the cashier. He said to bring my car to the front, park in traffic lane and load my car. Is he kidding? And who would watch my cart as I am going back and forth? He said not him because he is not allowed to do that, even if the cart would be beside his station. I asked to speak to the manager who came out from the back. Why was she not cashiering? She said two people called in sick so they were short. Is this my problem? Today, a customer in pharmacy took his dog from under his arm and placed it on the pharmacy counter for many minutes as his transaction was being worked on. I love dogs. I have a furry child myself. But I would never put her on anybody's counter. On the floor is fine. Nothing was said by the cashier. Being CVS has not meant better. Mainland thinking. Regarding the Pharmacy: We are very unhappy with the lack of communication and speed of filling a prescription from this pharmacy. We were awaiting a prescription for 4 days when we originally thought it would be same day or maybe one day. This company needs to create a better tracking system of their inventory and improve their automated system as well as call the customer back if they say they will. We are VERY unhappy about the time we had to wait for our prescription and will consider OTHER pharmacies even though this one is within walking distance! The full story: My wife's doctor sends a prescription to the pharmacy on Monday morning. We don't receive any calls, so at 8:00 pm we call the pharmacy. The person on the phone let's us know that 1 out of 2 items are ready and asks if we want to pick it up that night. (Side note: the items go hand-in-hand as you need them both to make use of them, so having only 1 out of 2 is useless.) I said yes as the pharmacy is very close. We get a call about 15 minutes later saying that the other item is not in stock. My wife asks when it will be available and the pharmacy says it will be ready on Tuesday at 5 pm, but we should call to make sure. My wife calls back the next day after 5 pm. She was told that the shipment did not include the correct brand for our prescription. We asked if they could check at other Longs Stores. They said yes and would call us back. They NEVER called us back that night or the next day! On Wednesday, my wife called again...it wasn't ready. On Thursday morning, my wife received an automated call saying the prescription was ready. I go to the pharmacy around 5 pm that day and was told that only 1 out of 2 items were ready. I said that shouldn't be because we have been waiting for the second one. The clerk checks and does find the other item but it still needs to be processed by the pharmacist, so I am told I need to wait for 10 minutes. I do, but after wandering the store I realized that I shouldn't be waiting because we were called over 5 hours ago. When I return to the counter, I ask to speak to a manager or the person who is in charge of the pharmacy. The pharmacist does come over, so I asked why the prescription wasn't ready. She says that the automated system probably called about the 1st item, but not the second. I told them it doesn't make sense when we need both items together. I also complained about the company's tracking system. With the ability to track packages so easily nowadays, why did it take so long without giving us (the customer) a good idea of when our prescription should be available? Also, when items that should be paired based on the prescription, the automated system should not call UNTIL both items are ready. read more

it used to be Pay 'n Save, then Longs and now I think they're owned by CVS, but this has always been my go-to place for almost everything i've ever needed and i've been shopping here since i was old enough to buy stuff. they have food, liquor, cosmetics, household goods, school supplies and photo and pharmacy departments. i also look forward to every sunday paper's Longs ad; the first thing i reach for are those yellow inserts :) "make Longs a part of your day!" read more

I love Longs... I like to see the yellow ad every Sunday. However, this particular location, and probably because I am going on the last day of the sale... never fails... something is out of stock! I never experienced so many out of stock items every week... it's kind of crazy. I don't want to be asking for rain checks. Once I did get a rain check for the Angel Soft toilet paper and even the next couple weeks after that they still didn't have it. So I don't bother with rain checks. Since my daughter is in a two hour gymnastics class, I like to take care of my weekly Longs shopping then, but in all my life that I have been going to Longs, this was the first location that disappoints me. My Dr. called in a prescription for me this morning and my husband picked it up around 5-6 PM and it wasn't ready yet! I just had a surgery this morning and really need to take my medicine unfortunately Sonia a pharmacy tech doesn't know what she was doing! I called my Dr. Office to have them call longs pharmacy for my insurance info and Sonia told them there's no problem on my insurance and that they just have to call it in. Duh? If she has to call my insurance there's definitely a problem. So stoops! I called them again to see what Sonia was going to tell me and she said that they talk to my Dr. Assistant and hanged up on them! Really? This is definitely a bad service! Liars! JASON WOO "THE WOAT" (worst of all time) Pharmacist. This guy is sooo un-professional thathe actually hung me up because he was so confused. He lost, yes lost my prescription and instead of admitting it was their fault, started mumbling and dodging my question of where my prescription was. Very long story short, they could not fill my last re-fill because they were out. I requested to forward to another location which I have done before. I was told "no prob". I followed up with the other Pharmacy like 10 mins later and they said they did not have it. The Mililani Pharmacy said they would follow up. In the mean time I called back Salt Lake Long's asking what happen. They had NO IDEA and let me talk to JASON WOO Pharmacist. He was totally confused. After explaining MULTIPLE times the issue, he said began his mumbling routine, unable to answer. I never once cursed or used foul language. I just wanted to know, of course pissed by now, WHERE IS MY PRESCRIPTION. He was so confused and lost, HE JUST HUNG UP. Not the best looking Longs (LOL) but I would say that its very close to my house, so convenient that is. HHmmm, every single time I go there for a particular item that was on sale maybe a day or two later, its always gone or not enough on the shelf. Its kinda expected for some reason, I really can't figure out why, but it is what it is..hehehe...The customer service is awesome, line is controlable and the pharmacy department was very helpful and they even recommended me a particular medication because I wasn't feeling well that day. I love this Longs because the staff is so helpful. They always offer help and there's always someone to help. Tonight I was inspired to finally review because my cashier, Zachary (I think, curly black hair, glasses, young man), discovered one of my packages was broken and leaking. I was having a very bad day and didn't feel well, and if I had gone home with a bust up pack of Mac n cheese, I would have been super annoyed. So thanks Zachary, and the entire staff. It's pretty crazy once the Sunday ad comes out. I feel it's well stocked, relatively clean. If I don't feel snooty and drive to Target, this is the place where I get everything else. And when stuff goes on sale, it's cheaper than Wal Mart or Target. Some drawbacks: Parking can be crazy. Finding a cart is sometimes tricky, but not as tricky as navigating in the store with the bulkheads over flowing. My least favorite part of Longs in Salt Lake is their presentation of products that block people's way. Once the senior citizens start their shopping, its nearly impossible to navigate with a cart. easier to lug two baskets and get the workout. If it were more spacious to move around and shop I would have given them a 4 star. read more

My carpool always goes here to pick up medicine, but they should go elsewhere because this place is really slow ! It's always crowded and hardly parking, we are always waiting for the prescriptions and have been told a few times to come back the next day ! Disabling and not being allowed to use quick and very secure NFC payments such as Apple Pay is very counter productive and anti-consumer of CVS/Longs Drugs. Also, shelves being barely stocked for long periods is not a good way to run a business. read more

I went to the Salt Lake, Hawaii location around 2:45pm. The Manager on duty needs to go through training on how the CVS coupon program works. CVS coupon was for $1 off $4 purchase on a certain item(s) and for some reason requiring a manager to override it. His reason for the coupon not being accepted was the item(s) were sale items and the coupons can no longer be used for sale items. This is not true. If he were to look on the CVS.com website under the current coupon policy. The only time you cannot use the CVS coupon is if it's percentage discount coupon. Not only did he give me a invalid excuse, his tone and demeanor made me feel embarrassed and ashamed. Sadly, I don't feel like I can walk back into this CVS location anymore due to feeling so ashamed due to no fault of mines. I informed my significant other and all my friends and relatives to shop at other locations because of the way I was mistreated. read more

Review is for the pharmacy only. They are ridiculously slow and always have only one person working the register at the pharmacy counter. Doesn't matter if you go during non-peak times (e.g. Weekday mid-morning or mid-afternoon), be prepared to wait at last 20 minutes if there is more than one person in line in front of you. read more

By far, the worst customer service in Pharmacy out of all the Longs I've been to. I've been there 3 times today and I still haven't got my medication. They told me to wait 10 minutes and it'll be ready so I was wondering around the store for 45 minutes, still not calling my name so I went back and ask again. They told me to wait another 10 minutes so I came back in about an hour and it wasn't ready. Guess what? They told me it'll be ready in 10 minutes. This happened 3 times today so I just left the store really pissed off. I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING from this particular Longs ever again. I'll drive little farther and get my medication without waiting a whole day to get it. If you need certain medication certain day because you really need it,,,they will just tell you wait 10 minutes but it will take them all day because they just simply forget or don't care. AVOID THIS PHARMACY AT ALL COST IF YOU NEED MEDICINE ON SAME DAY. UPDATE 6/5/2015...I really wanted to use this Longs Drugs but I won't be returning to this store EVER...I had a prescription by my doctor but I was skeptical about going into THIS particular LONGS DRUGS since workers here have no idea what they're doing and I had many bad experience from this particular LONGS DRUGS in pharmacy department. They had me come back 3 times for the same medicine. I would get a phone call saying it's ready to pick up so when I drive there to pick up,,,the workers will have no idea what medicine I'm talking about. Tonight was the 3rd time going to pick it up and this older Asian man with glasses told me there was no medicine for me. I told him that this was my 3rd time coming to get this medicine and asked him why it's not ready when they call me constantly to pick it up. He gave no apologies and he had no idea what medicine I was picking up. I'm wondering if these guys are on drugs themselves. He told me it'll be ready to pick up soon again for the 3rd time. I was waiting in the store but it was obvious he was going to do everything else before getting my medicine ready. Longs is the drugstore in my local community shopping area - aka Salt Lake. I can't really speak to the pharmacy service, but I'll speak to the shopping experience. I don't expect too much when I go in to Longs. My basic purchases there are bread (vegan, local), guava nectar (sweet juice, often cheaper than Safeway), dark chocolate macadamia nuts (exquisite vegan goodness!), and now Zippy's frozen chili (got hooked!). Now I'm getting hungry! There's a redbox rental thing there too! read more

It's convenient to have Longs open 24 hours now! Not very many people come at night so there's no lines. In the daytime, however, there's usually a line ...especially on Sundays. Will never go to another Longs again! Horrible customer service and high prices ever since CVS took over. Salt Lake Pharmacy screwed up the prescription for my 1 month old daughter by giving her 10 TIMES what she was supposed to be taking and I didn't find out until a month later when I went to refill the prescription!!! THIS REVIEW IS FOR PHARMACY ONLY! I've been to many Longs Drugs as well as CVS in my lifetime (even on Mainland), the Pharmacist at this Salt Lake location was so RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. He is tall, skinny Chinese-looking and he was very pretentious and stuckup. I wanted to EXCHANGE, not return, a defective nebulizer machine for my child which I picked up 3 days ago at a Longs on King St (24-hr since Salt was closed) and this guy told me first I need another dr prescription and then said I have to bring back to the King St location. I was like, my poor child is having trouble breathing and you want me to drive all the way across town... Longs is Longs, just like Target is Target. I should be able to exchange for a working one since I only got the machine 3 days ago! Still he refuse, what a total ASSHOLE! Sad to say, but Longs has gone downhill every since CVS took over. Not only is it harder to get in and out, due to only one door being open, but the product selection and quality has steadily declined. A lot of the local things they used to have aren't for sale any more. Different stores have different layouts and it's harder to find things. Products are worse, especially the CVS brand. The old Longs brands were just as good as name brands, but not so with CVS. The bandaids don't stick, the eye drops don't get the red out, the cough drops fade and are tasteless within a couple of weeks I bought a cheese slicer recently at the Moiliili store and the first time I used it, the wire broke! I had already thrown away the packaging and receipt, so just trashed it. I used to go to Longs at least once or twice a week, but now onl go for things I know they still have, like coffee and macadamias or if all the other stores are closed. Sad to see this island tradition turn into a typical Mainland junk store. read more

First of all-no shopping carts. Second-no one came to assist me, Third-Long lines. What is wrong with this location? Finally I get to the register to ring up all my items and here's where it gets worse. So they had this item on sale-atleast that's what was attached to the shelf where the merchandise was and there was a whole bunch of them there. It was going for $19.99 their in-store special and the register scanned in $35.99. So the girl(Jackie) at the reg said she'll get a Clerk to check, to find out the special expired. A manager or shift supervisor (Cherry) came and said the same thing that the ad had expired. ok not my fault, in all retail you must honor it, anyway paid for it at retail price, and the girl didn't even bother to ask for my extra care card, re-bag or give me another bag since the one she had given me was tearing on the way out or no apologies for the inconvenience, i went to another longs and was able to return it and get it for the sale price thanks to Kalihi Location. Honestly most of the Longs Drugs have this problem Either bad management or workers who could just care less. I think would've been best if they just ran out of business. read more
