My heater had a gas leak last September and Dmitri from Conrad did an excellent job fixing it on a Saturday. The job itself was pretty challenging due to a very small space to even insert a properly sized wrench for the job. However Dmitri didn't give up and successfully managed to tighten the parts after applying sealant. Since it was still warm outside, we didn't use the heater until 4-5 days later when Dmitri came back to verify the sealant he used had cured properly. Then sometime in February Conrad texted me about a promotion they had for a tune-up and maintenance service. Happy to accept and Leo came and performed the verification. This morning, 4/27/26, I received an unsolicited text from someone who calls himself, Alex. This guy said he works for Conrad Heating & Cooling and spoke as if we had an existing business relationship i.e., the message said, "It looks like we haven't been out for your spring A/C maintenance yet," implying they had serviced our system before. I almost fell for this trick. But as he pressed me to make an appointment, he asked me what kind of a/c unit I have, which is an odd question for someone who has worked on our equipment previously. I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly. read more

These guys are texting around doing the old bait and switch on routine maintenance on your AC. They act like they have been doing the maintenance but they just want to get to your home and then tell you your existing unit needs very costly repairs and that they can conveniently install a new AC they recommend next week. Pretty deceitful business practice. If they are willing to do this type of 'scam' imagine all the corners they are cutting when they are doing the work? read more

A water heater in my house broke on Valentine's day, on Friday, around 4pm (the tank cracked, so it was completely dead). Portland got a fair amount of snow on that day, too. By 5pm next day, roughly 24hr later, good folks at Conrad Heating & Cooling had the new heater installed and running. I contacted Conrad to replace my hydronic furnace and aging AC unit - 23 years old this year. I appreciated their quick response time and assessment, and their quote was in line (if not slightly higher) than the other quotes I received. In the end, everything was excellent. I purchased a high capacity heat pump with AC that fitted with my existing ducting. One thing I greatly appreciated was that the company contacted me the evening after the final install day (2 days total), and asked me about my concerns for the thermostat. When I told them the thermostat app had horrible reviews and I wished I could use my old thermostat, they sent someone out a few days later to reinstall my existing thermostat. I had an issue with a burnt out blower in a furnace installed in 1992. Dmitry came out to diagnose the very next morning & submitted for a parts distributor to try and locate a replacement motor. Within a week they found a new motor and had it installed quickly. I will be calling them again if I ever have another issue! The only company that not only responded immediately, but their diagnostic fee (only $99 by the way) was applied to the final repair bill! Upon asking for breakdown he lied about the prices. Desperate me signed the agreement and paid advance amount. I had to call another company and asked their technician to look into my unit. To my surprise they quoted half the price Conrad quoted. Conrad neither matched the quote nor refunded my deposit money. Their technician is a big liar and took advantage of my situation. Our 30 year old forced air furnace finally died this Spring, and we figured might as well replace the furnace and install A/C. I looked around and got a couple of estimates. Dmitry dropped by, inspected the old furnace, took some notes, and then left, and later that night I received several estimates at various price points, from basic to very high end systems. Another "reputable" firm I called up, sent a salesman who promptly began a hard sale and was going on and on about replacing all my ductwork and finally when I grew weary, gave me a ballpark estimate that was twice Conrad's highest estimate. Of course my mind was made up at that point. I scheduled with Conrad, and their technicians came and installed the new furnace and A/C and filter. The work they did was quite professional and the technicians were very friendly. I would recommend this company. read more

The technician showed up on time to deal with water leaking from my furnace, located in the attic. He wore a mask when requested and when I provided one. His English wasn't very good, and I had some trouble understanding what he was trying to tell me. He diagnosed my water leak as being caused by a drain tube that had come adrift from drain. He replaced the plastic clip that holds the drain tube in place, and said that was all that was needed. I asked about the visible mineral deposits around the joints on the vent pipe, which told me that water had to have been leaking at those joints, and he said that no, it was not leaking there, and that he had fixed the only leak. I also asked about the corrosion around the heat exchanger. He tested for carbon monoxide, which might be leaking into the house from the flue gasses if the heat exchanger was damaged, and found none. Before the visit, I was told that the charge would be $79 for diagnosis. The technician never said that he was going to do more, but when he left, he wanted to charge me $275! I objected, since I had not agreed to more work being performed, and all that he had actually done was to replace a plastic clip on a drain tube. Indeed, he had told me that nothing else was needed. He immediately said that I was correct, and that I should just pay $79, which I did (plus a tip). After he had gone, I went back into the attic, and cleaned up all of the water and deposits in the drain pan, and dried the inside of the furnace. (The technician had not done any of this.) We then ran the furnace for the rest of the day, and through the night. The next day, there was fresh water in the furnace enclosure, indicating clearly that the problem had not been fixed. So, they get one star for showing up, and one star for testing the CO levels. They didn't fix the problem, and tried to charge me an extra $195 for not doing so. They didn't clean the area in a way that would have let me know if the problem was actually fixed. Update: On Monday of the following week, I had the following text exchange with a manager from Conrad: "I've just read the reviews you left us on Yelp and Google, and I wanted to apologize for Alex's work quality, for his mistake when calculating the final cost and for his English as well. He has worked before with commercial HVAC and he is efficient enough but not quite experienced in communication with customers. He is new here and training. I understand your disappointment very well and apologize one more time and would like to make your experience with us better. We will refund you $79 plus your tip ..." To which I replied: "I appreciate your offer to refund the fee. I will add this to my review. However, I would like Alex to keep his tip: he did his best." Based on this response, I changed my rating from two to three stars. read more

I am all about supporting a local, small business whenever I can. scheduling an appointment online was super easy and a technician was actually available come within two days! The $75 initial visit fee applies towards repair work too. Dmitry texted me to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. After initial assessment, I was informed the main unit needs to be replaced. When Dmitry came back a week later with parts, he spent about 2 hours and couldnt get the gas stove to work right. He recommended replacing another part for the switches. Five days later, Dmitry came back third time and everything worked great! Although it required two repair visits, glad the gas stove is working without any issue. Dmitry was upfront with cost estimates and my approval was needed each time before proceeding with any work. Definitely, will try Fuse again for future repairs. read more

Request for quote was straight forward with a simple request to change out a condenser pad that the AC unit is sitting on, but... I was told that quotes are not available. They require a service tech to review the project onsite for a flat fee of $79.00... regardless of if you go with their service or not. Seems like a not well thought out policy. Who is going to pay $79 for someone to come out that could possibly provide a bid that is out of your budget? Common business sense is reviewing the details provided by the customer and coming back with a ballpark estimate or asking for more details to provide that estimate.
