Not a lot of restaurants still open at 11pm so we decided to come. Love their choices of soup base as you can bring it back home. Although it's a bit pricy for the soup base. Good for a group of people (maybe 4+) so you can order more. Fish came as a whole fish fillet. Meat quality was good. Service was decent. Overall, will probably come back again with a bigger group next time so I can try more different items on menu.

I was really excited to try out this Hong Kong-style hotpot place due to its less spicy and more nourishing broths that are lighter, and a focus on drinking the flavorful soup first. We chose the chicken and fish maw broth. The soup was so sweet and light. I really appreciate their priority with using fresh ingredients. The fish balls and beef balls were fresh/homemade, which resulted in really good texture and quality. The sauce station is set up on a cart next to the table for convenience -- all very fresh ingredients. The decor and ambiance of the place is spectacular!! It was like walking into a diner on the streets of Hong Kong with all of the neon lit signs and banners. The staff were attentive and added broth for us a couple times. After the meal, I felt full but not overly stuffed because the food was not heavy or overly salty.

Loon Fong Hotpot Parking: Parking can be difficult during dinner hours on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere: Old school Hong Kong street vibe from the 80's and space between each table are reasonable. Recommend to go during autumn and winter. As their air conditioner is not strong enough during summer. Service: Fast, smart, and attentive staff. Presentation: Food plating is nice for hotpot restaurant standards. All seafood dishes are chilled with ice. Taste: Chicken broth with fish maw: The best hotpot soup base I have in the GTA. Super condensed chicken flavour and full of collagen Four treasures balls: Handmade meatball and okay bounce. Eel: Okay fresh and bouncy skin. Beef tongue: Mild beef flavour and nice texture. Hand cut beef and beef shank: Not much beef flavour, a bit disappointing. Razor clams and oysters: Not that fresh but still eatable. Overall: Customers are paying very high al carte price for the old school 80's Hong Kong street vibe. In my personal opinion, there are other famous Shabu Shabu / Sukiyaki $100 plus per person AYCE restaurants that offer much fresher and better-quality beef / seafood selections.

Chicken broth with fish mae is the soup base to try. You can also get rice with it that's added at the end of the meal for a hearty congee to finish the meal. Their milk pudding was also surprisingly good. Great atmosphere too!

Food was yummy. I like their chicken hot pot. The soup was really good. Service is prompt and friendly. Ambiance is the best part. I love the decor, it was fun. Overall it is a fun restaurant to come try at least once.

Started waiting on the online waitlist at around 6:30pm on a Tuesday and finally got a table for 3 at around 8:30. This place served Hong Kong style hotpot and the ambience was great. While the interior design looked really cool, I think the food was only okay. I would say all the food tasted very authentic and the meat was fresh but none of the food was that special that would make it worth a 2 hour wait. After tips, it came out to be around 70CAD per person, and for someone that's coming from New York, that's not bad at all, but I definitely won't want to come back if the wait is that long again.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant on a Monday around 12:20pm and waited for about an hour to get seated. The restaurant itself is decorated with classic hk signs and very nostalgic. We got the popular fish maw chicken hotpot with hand cut beef ribs, beef shank and water cress. I got a free hongkong milk tea with the voucher. My boyfriend and I both found the broth to be extremely rich and hearty, which was great for the cold weather. The service was a bit slow, but again, the restaurant was packed. I really like how they provide each table with their own condiments to make their own sauce. Overall, great dining experience and would recommend this place for anyone who likes hotpot!

I've passed by this place many times and seen the pretty interior from the outside, so I was super excited to finally get to check them out. @loonfong_hotpot specializes in Hong Kong style hot pot, I'm in love with the decor. It feels like you're transported into the streets of Hong Kong. I love all the little details, including fake BBQ poultry hanging in one of the rooms We got the chicken fish maw hot pot with a variety of meats, meatballs, and other hot pot essentials. Everything tasted amazing, the quality of Aldi ingredients were clearly very high-quality, and drinking the chicken soup after felt so nice on a cold winter day. There's very little to no MSG, so I drank very minimal amounts of water, which is great. you also get your own sauce bar so you don't have to walk over and fight people for sauces. Service was very friendly and attentive for a Chinese restaurant, waitresses kept offering to change our plates, scoop soup for us, add more broth, and so on. Pricewise was definitely on the expensive side for hot pot, but for the unique vibes and excellent service and quality, it was worth it. Would definitely come back here. Definitely be sure to make a reservation or join their waitlist before arriving if you want to minimize the wait for a table, because it does get busy.

Very well decorated! They pulled famous signage and classic old Hong Kong store fronts as decor for the restaurant. Loving the neon signs. Reminds me so much of HK! Being born & raised in HK, I wouldn't say this is authentic HK style hot pot. But the food is good regardless. Really enjoy the fish maw chicken soup. Their sauces are very good as well which is essential for hot pot. They bring u your own sauce tray to mix your own. Staff is pretty friendly and helpful with cook as well if you need help. Could be long waits and no reservations, be sure to join the waitlist early if u want to visit for dinner.

A relatively new hot pot place in the area and was very impressive. The food was fresh and good quality. The chicken soup base was delicious and so flavourful. Decor and ambiance of the restaurant is really cool as well. Makes you feel like you're in Hong Kong. The restaurant is small. We joined the virtual wait list around 6pm and got a table close to 8pm. The seating is also a bit tight. We were a group of 6 and got a small table that easily filled up once we started ordering a few dishes. They do have a private room that fits 12 ppl but has a minimum spend.

Feels like you're in the streets of HK coming here. A new Hong Kong style hot pot with a beautiful interior filled with neon signage and old school Hong Kong street style decor. It really feels like you've taken a step back into Hong Kong street dining here which was the main reason I wanted to come. Make reservations in advance as this place is popular and will fill up quickly. I've visited twice already, once with a large party, they kindly seated us in their private room at the back that opens up to two large tables. Second time I came with a party of 4, both times were amazing and service is also so attentive. This is not your typical Chinese hot pot as food variety is limited (they don't have lamb), but it's higher quality food and focus is on their soup bases. Both times I opted for their full chicken, fish maw soup base and it comes with an entire whole chicken. They top your broth up with additional chicken soup. The soup bases are definitely quite pricey, sitting at $65 per pot, but much more delicious than usual hot pot spots. They bring you an entire tray of sauce items for you to make your own hot pot sauce. Add the scallion oil to your sauce - what a game changer this was! Some things worth ordering: Ball variety 5/5 - Comes with hand made fish balls, beef balls and shrimp balls. Great for sharing and is super high quality! Clay pot rice 5/5 - Get this first thing when you get seated as it will take half hour to cook up. Perfectly cooked rice with preserved meats that were juicy, salty and deliciously oily. Razor clams 5/5 - Was sold out the first time I came so was glad I was able to order this second time around. High quality seafood that pairs well with the hot pot. Tip: If you get the chicken fish maw hot pot, don't put the entire plate of chicken into the soup. The chicken will get overcooked and you won't be able to eat it quick enough to really taste the silky chicken. Instead, make sure you put the chicken pieces into the hot pot in batches as you eat. Can't rave about this place enough. Such good vibes, food and service. Give it a try!

These are fried dough sticks! Very yummy on its own or put it in the soup!

I went here for lunch with friends last month, and it was pretty amazing! We spent around $280+ which is quite affordable for a hotpot place, especially considering there were six of us and we ordered a lot of food. Excellent service as well! When we arrived around lunchtime, the restaurant was packed, but the wait wasn't too long. They have a small machine at the entrance where you sign up online and wait for your turn. There's also a power bank station--just scan the code in the top right corner to charge your phone for $1 per 30 minutes, with a $6 daily max. Once we got our table, they brought us a box of nine different dipping sauces so we could mix and match to our liking! Besides hotpot, we also ordered two separate dishes. The Cantonese salmon salad was absolutely delicious--we finished the salmon way faster than expected! The clay pot rice was another highlight, packed with generous portions of meat, Chinese sausages, and veggies, and it wasn't too oily. For drinks, we all got Hong Kong milk tea. If you add tapioca, it tastes like an upgraded version of bubble tea! While I loved it, it was a bit too sweet for me. Since I'm a soup lover, I enjoyed more of the chicken broth--it was warm, flavorful, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. For the hotpot, we ordered fish slices, shrimp, handmade meatballs, fish balls, and some vegetables. Everything was fresh and tasty! Beyond the amazing food, I also loved the restaurant's design. It really brought back memories and had a strong Hong Kong street-style vibe--it felt like I'm back to Hong Kong. They did a fantastic job not only with the food but also in creating an atmosphere that showcases the culture beautifully. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again :))

The interior felt like some of Hong Kong's most iconic signage and brands stuffed into a restaurant. Ironically the restaurant isn't huge as a result to a lot of decor (I think) it gives stuffed in a sardine can vibe which I think paints a good picture of how people live in Hong Kong (space is limited) it was interesting and made me miss Hong Kong. The staff majority speaks Mandarin a couple spoke Cantonese but all were equally nice/patient/helpful. We got the chicken and fish maw soup base ($68) and I can't remember the prices for the other items but I would say food is only so-so for an a la carte. We got the "lo seiw" duck apparently their famous for, it's okay. The hand cut beef once cooked it's rough and tough to chew and the meat balls weren't special, couldn't tasted the flavouring it claims to have. A bit unfortunate, perhaps the soup base over powers the taste? I probably wouldn't come back unless I want the vibes again.

Chiu Chow Milk Pudding, Mango Pomelo Sago and Coconut Milk Sago. All were very good!

Asked for mild and tbh it was way too spicy for my tastebuds haha. They were very accommodating to switch it out for the Mushroom one for me. My favorite selections: - marinated beef - thicker and good flavour - squid - good size and quality - mussels - good size and taste Average selections: - shrimp - fatty beef - pork belly - chicken I really like the ability to create my own dipping sauces and came up with 3 blends with soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame bases. Need to probably try out a few mixes to get the right portions of each item. Had the Strawberry Taro soft serve waffle cone at end it was outstanding. Very refreshing and creamy. Service (4.25/5) - pretty attentive and helpful overall. Came by a few times for water refills and check-ins. Atmosphere (4/5) - well spaced out tables with single/double burners. I've had my fair share of hotpot across North America- mainly shabu (Japanese hotpot), with Kim Tao being my first Chinese hotpot experience- and it did NOT disappoint. For starters, this place is HUGE. They have enough space for small parties, larger parties, and even banquets. Surprisingly no wait despite some surrounding hotpot places having over a 3 hour wait. If you really wanted to be secure and reserve a table, you can do it via Google reservations or call them. The menu was surprisingly extensive- there are so many options to choose from and were appropriately portioned so that way you don't over order. Two meats I would personally avoid would be the ox tongue and beef shank as they were pretty tough and didn't taste the best but everything else was really good. My brother and I tried most items on the menu and our favorite proteins were salmon, shrimp balls, tripe, sliced chicken, and marinated beef. Get the mango sago!! It's the perfect palate cleanser and tastes like fresh mangoes. Phillip, our main server, did an awesome job. He was friendly, super helpful, and quick to turn around my brother and I's back to back orders (lol). All of the other staff who occasionally took care of our table also did a great job keeping us clean and well stocked. Despite being relatively busy, service was lightning fast. I will note though, that if you're the type of person who prefers to be sweet talked or indulge in conversation with your server from time to time, this is not the kind of place for that, lol. Nothing wrong with this at all but I'd describe their hospitality as "Hong Kong style" where it's rather sharp and direct which I actually really like.
