I love hotpot and Shudaxia is one of the best places that offers high quality and fresh All You Can Eat hotpot. The staff are extremely nice and welcoming. We got to try out the Chinese outfit and I even wore my outfit throughout the whole dinner. Lol The decorations are very authentic and beautiful and the seating arrangement makes it suitable for solo dining, couples or groups. They offer a pleasant atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meal and they don't rush you out of the restaurant. The menu offers great variety of meat, pork, seafood, vegetables and tofu. You can choose the broth and spice level for the soup and you can cook them to your liking at your table. It's an exciting dining experience.

Love this spot to take out hot pot (mixed with various meat and veggie, with two bowls of rice and 1 can of soft drink. It is heaven. The service is impeccable, I ordered only 3 kinds of meat, they called me and let me know I need to add some veggie to make it yummier. I confirmed to order 2 more veggie, and when I picked up, they added some more to make it yummier. Very tentative service. The interior is very welcoming and heart- warming. Will go back again for sure.

Beautiful interior, spacious seating and good food. Came with a party of 8 and was seated at a table with just one pot. The pots are big here though, but definitely wasn't great to share one pot with 8, since you have to wait a lot of times for the food to cook/ disperse the food evenly amongst the table. The interior of the place is beautiful with a lot of lanterns hanging from the ceiling. There is a self serve sauce bar that you can make your own dipping sauce at, which includes your staples like green onions, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame sauce, sesame oil, chili oil and more. Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of people in here during prime dinner rush hour, there were only about five tables here including ours. You can also ask the staff to wear traditional Chinese clothing to really indulge in this experience as a whole. I saw a bunch of clothing/ costumes at the front near the hostess stand. The spicy soup base was very spicy (as I heard from the other diners at my table), the tomato soup base could use a lot more tomato flavour in my opinion. I asked for more tomato paste to make the flavour a bit stronger for my liking. They have cooler food items like crawfish, snakehead fish and snow crab legs, which I really enjoyed. Their meats are okay and have other staple items you'd usually find in Chinese hot pot like beef, lamb, shrimp and more. Service was okay, sometimes it was hard to flag someone down. Overall, it was a good experience with lots of food options and pretty decor.

Love the ambiance.... Festive Asian decor with antique tables, chairs and traditional Asian lantern's throughout the space. Traditional Chinese Style hot pot. Lots of choices of meats on the list. Although lacked the variety of vegetables ... missing favourites such as watercress and spinach. But they had snow pea tips which I've not seen at other hot pot which is a very nice surprising addition. There are items on the menu considered premium and are there is additional charge such as Thai Tiger Prawns (+$13.99) and Abalone (+19.99) and tons more on the list. I always over indulge when it's AYCE. I saved room for a little dessert but a little disappointing with only two choices to choose from.... which are a sweet rice cakes and fried bun with condensed milk. I noticed people at other tables had ice cream bars. Ask for this cream flavour ice cream bar cause its refreshing and it's no extra charge and not listed on the menu. Overall it was enjoyable but they could make improvement to the menu selection.

Probably one of my favourite hotpot spots on the GTA. I also love that they have AYCE. They have really great quality items and fresh ingredients. Their broth is also very tasty.. not overly salty or oily. I also like that they have individual set meals at certain times. Definitely a must try! Service is also very good here!

SHUDAXIA HOTPOT . . Another hotpot spot in Richmond Hill that I'm trying for the first time I loved the decor and the pots are HUGE! I felt like I was brewing up a potion in a cauldron like in Harry Potter. We opted for the AYCE Menu but they also have an A la carte option. Soup base is extra charge. . . AYCE Adult $32.99 (weekends) one flavour non spicy soup base $13.99 . . There is a self serve sauce station at no extra charge. Ordering is done online by scanning a QR code and there's a variety of meats, veggies, fish balls, seafood, noodles, etc. as well as premium items at an extra charge. Overall I thought the food was good, but service needs improvement. It was a busy night and there's only 5 workers on the floor. Some of the meats also weren't as good as other places.

Delicious and authentic Sichuan style hotpot located in Richmond Hill. We got the 2 split pot with 2 kinds of broth and they were both delicious and complimented each other well. We got the medium level spice for the spicy broth and it was the perfect blend of hot and numbing spice, but not so overpowering that we couldn't enjoy the food. And the mushroom broth was the perfect mellow and umami contrast. Highly recommend the Tai Chi shrimp paste. The wait staff will ball the shrimp paste and add it to the pot for you. Because half of the shrimp paste is covered in roe, when it cooks, the balls from each half have very different textures. The service is top notch. Each item came out quickly and the staff will very quick and attentive to all requests. The price is a bit more on the higher end, but you get what you pay for and I will definitely be returning here again soon!

Absolutely hands down best hot pot I've ever had! Traveled here from American & stopped by here for some hot pot. It was all you can eat, patient kind friendly service, portions were huge, authentic but everything was explained to us, and DELICIOUS!! Sauce bar was yummy filled with yummy options. 10/10 place!! Plus it's very good inside and pretty decorated without feeling stuffy crowded.

I thought passing my entrance exams was hard but trying to order food from an AYCE restaurant is harder. For starters basic entry on a weekend Saturday $32 pp plus 2 choices of broth. We had mushrooms and beef bones. Free selection is very few because most of the good ones are extra. Green vegetables are also limited they only have 2. In all our bill for 2 ppl comes to $98 not including tip. Service is good servers are caring and attentive. Unless you like innards and blood cakes then you might want to try here.

Great place to hang out. They don't rush you. Good value. Always felt welcoming. Was here on holidays and they try to decorate the place for better ambience.

We came here in a group. 6 adults and 4 kids. We ordered the special with additional items on the side. We were given a room due to oyr party size and it was good to have privacy. The ordering system was kind of confusing, they wanted to be tech savvy but it was more confusing than tech savvy. Anyhow, the meats were fresh, we liked the shrimp paste, not a huge fan of the intestines. The spicy broth, we ordered mild, but it was very spicy, we ordered the rest tomato broth, mushroom broth and beef broth. All in all, this was a good experience.

This location is open very late on many nights - 3am! Food (3.75/5) - very large selection of meats, seafood, veggies and other items to choose for your hot top. Some were good and some were pretty average. You can choose from 10 different soup bases - I went with the Signature House Special one. Asked for mild and tbh it was way too spicy for my tastebuds haha. They were very accommodating to switch it out for the Mushroom one for me. My favorite selections: - marinated beef - thicker and good flavour - squid - good size and quality - mussels - good size and taste Average selections: - shrimp - fatty beef - pork belly - chicken I really like the ability to create my own dipping sauces and came up with 3 blends with soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame bases. Need to probably try out a few mixes to get the right portions of each item. Had the Strawberry Taro soft serve waffle cone at end it was outstanding. Very refreshing and creamy. Service (4.25/5) - pretty attentive and helpful overall. Came by a few times for water refills and check-ins. Atmosphere (4/5) - well spaced out tables with single/double burners. Seemed clean and tidy overall. Overall (4/5) - its not a bad value if you are hungry and ideal for groups or couples. I would come back to try out more items. The late hours is pretty convenient too for that area.

And my husband had a 2 meat shabu shabu with teriyaki base. The meat we chose beef and lamb. The teriyaki base came pretty quick. We started boiling the base and then we got the 2 bowls of meat, 1 bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of the noodles. The base was pretty sweet, but still good with all the ingredients. The dipping sauces were set on a central table that we made our own. I like sesame oil, sesame sauce, Shacha sauce with green onion and cilantro to mix them up. My coconut Tom Yum soup came a bit late. The meat was a good portion, the shrimp was 3 big pieces of tiger shrimp. And there was some veggies at the bottom with noodles. They were all in good portion, the only problem was the soup, it didn't seem to have coconut in it, the taste and the color looked like Tom Yum soup only. For lunch time, my Shabu Shabu was $16.xx+tax and my noodles soup was $9.80+tax. The price was pretty decent. I would like to come back and try other combinations.

I found this place on Reddit after searching for over an hour for a reasonably priced, all you can…read moreeat hotpot place with a large selection. I've had my fair share of hotpot across North America- mainly shabu (Japanese hotpot), with Kim Tao being my first Chinese hotpot experience- and it did NOT disappoint. For starters, this place is HUGE. They have enough space for small parties, larger parties, and even banquets. Surprisingly no wait despite some surrounding hotpot places having over a 3 hour wait. If you really wanted to be secure and reserve a table, you can do it via Google reservations or call them. The menu was surprisingly extensive- there are so many options to choose from and were appropriately portioned so that way you don't over order. Two meats I would personally avoid would be the ox tongue and beef shank as they were pretty tough and didn't taste the best but everything else was really good. My brother and I tried most items on the menu and our favorite proteins were salmon, shrimp balls, tripe, sliced chicken, and marinated beef. Get the mango sago!! It's the perfect palate cleanser and tastes like fresh mangoes. Phillip, our main server, did an awesome job. He was friendly, super helpful, and quick to turn around my brother and I's back to back orders (lol). All of the other staff who occasionally took care of our table also did a great job keeping us clean and well stocked. Despite being relatively busy, service was lightning fast. I will note though, that if you're the type of person who prefers to be sweet talked or indulge in conversation with your server from time to time, this is not the kind of place for that, lol. Nothing wrong with this at all but I'd describe their hospitality as "Hong Kong style" where it's rather sharp and direct which I actually really like. This place implements auto gratuity of 15% which is totally okay with us.

The pros are: AYCE The condiments were delivered to the room and set up on a separate table in our room The appetizers were also delivered and set up on a second separate table in our room Service was efficient and the servers often came around to top up the broths. Cons: The restaurant allows only one person to place all the food orders and refills. Our group problem solved this requirement but it made it a lot of work for one guest. Favourites: Fried sticky rice Fresh made fishballs Steamed stuffed egg plant Tons of veggie options Desserts Karaoke is available in the VIP room. The songs selection in English was limited with fewer new songs. Parking is available right outside restaurant in the plaza. The restaurant is open to 1:00am. Variety is not great esp with few appetizers to cleanse the palate or any veggies outside of edamame. Maybe for sukiyaki it would have been better but for $130, that's pretty insane for something so mediocre. Service was attentive but nothing special. Pricing is also insane for kids. Oh the smoked duck was a highlight though. Well seasoned and tender. But everything else felt unseasoned and bland. TDLR: go to daimaru for sukiyaki instead.
