This is the Richmond Hill location of the Liuyishou chain by East Beaver Creek and 7. Large AYCE menu with various options for Lunch vs Dinner vs Late Night. This location is open very late on many nights - 3am! Food (3.75/5) - very large selection of meats, seafood, veggies and other items to choose for your hot top. Some were good and some were pretty average. You can choose from 10 different soup bases - I went with the Signature House Special one. Asked for mild and tbh it was way too spicy for my tastebuds haha. They were very accommodating to switch it out for the Mushroom one for me. My favorite selections: - marinated beef - thicker and good flavour - squid - good size and quality - mussels - good size and taste Average selections: - shrimp - fatty beef - pork belly - chicken I really like the ability to create my own dipping sauces and came up with 3 blends with soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame bases. Need to probably try out a few mixes to get the right portions of each item. Had the Strawberry Taro soft serve waffle cone at end it was outstanding. Very refreshing and creamy. Service (4.25/5) - pretty attentive and helpful overall. Came by a few times for water refills and check-ins. Atmosphere (4/5) - well spaced out tables with single/double burners. Seemed clean and tidy overall. Overall (4/5) - its not a bad value if you are hungry and ideal for groups or couples. I would come back to try out more items. Came here on a Friday night on Father's Day. Service is quite prompt and food comes out very fast. The first round I would say was good, meat was good as well. The second and after ended up being mostly frozen meat, as in meat that was STILL frozen. This makes the meat like a cardboard when cooked. The dessert station is very disappointing. Just cold jelly, sprinkles, fruits, hawthornes. The diced up watermelon is not appetizing. There's cake beside sesame oil dispenser. Venue 4/5 Busy spot with a lively atmosphere. It gets a bit noisy inside, but still manageable to have a conversation with your table. Seating is fairly comfortable and the layout works well for groups. Overall, a solid place if you're going in with friends. They have the tables where everyone has their own grill for their own broth or the classic sharing broth setup. Service 4/5 Service was smooth this time around and we didn't feel rushed (there's 2h dining limit), which made the experience much better. Staff were attentive when needed and quick to clear plates. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night. Staff can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin. Not the absolute best hotpot you'll ever have, but definitely a reliable and enjoyable spot that's also open late Food 4/5 Went with the triple broth, which is always a good move if you want variety. Came for lunch mon-fri before 4pm special menu for $26.99 including broth. Comes with ayce meat that they slice in the back. The bar comes with sauce, snacks and fruits. It was very quiet when I went on Wednesday afternoon. I think this place is good, but I feel it needs a bit updating and cleaning. The sauce bar area had tongs but I did not know if they were clean or not since it is in a big bucket with water. The seaweed salad had a weird taste to it, their soy sauce is extremely salty, so don't get too much of it. The broth was good, I liked the pork bone more than mushroom broth. They had quite a bit of options and they will serve you the ice cream which was mix of strawberry and taro. It was more icy than creamy. Overall, it was good. read more

August 10, 2025 - I tried this wonderful hot pot place with a group of friends and you can never go wrong with hot pot. We went with the Tom yum soup base, which was a little spicy. There were definitely a lot of classic hot pot items such as the lamb and pork platter, but there were some interesting items I've never tried before. The beef tongue had an interesting texture - It's definitely a bit rough. I've never had frog legs before either. It tasted a bit like chicken with a fish like texture. There was also pork blood tofu. Definitely an interesting one as it had a jelly like texture with a slight taste. Not much taste though. All the classic dishes were great as per usual. The pork and lamb cuts, tripe, bamboo, cuttlefish, mushrooms and lettuce, etc. Would definitely come back. read more

An all you can Chinese hot pot spot that is super hot in the Markham area! Make sure to come here with reservations or early in the day to put yourself on the waitlist. The wait times here are long if you're just doing a walk in during their prime dinner times. I love this place mainly for their delicious sliced meats, comes with the perfectly amount of marbling and the quality is great. Soup base is always good as well, I get the tomato all the time and ask for extra tomato sauce/ soup base on the side to make it more potent. The have a wide variety of food here to choose form with additional more expensive items available for an additional cost. They have a side sauce bar that you get yourself along with some cooked foods/ appies and fruit that is also self serve. We came here with a group of friends. Parking is a little challenging as some of the spots are designated for Sheraton Hotel. Ambiance - 4/5: it's a pretty big place with lots of tables and seats. The washrooms were clean (when I first got there) with 3 stalls, 1 is a disability washroom. The entrance to the washroom door is blended into to wall decor so look for a small sign on the door that says, "pull". Service - 4/5: we made a reservation so we were seated quickly. Some servers had stronger English skills so we got good service from those. Otherwise, they mainly speak Mandarin there. They would probably benefit from an ordering app. We would have to order through the server. Food - 3.75/5: the hotpot food itself was good. We got a lot of beef items including marbled beef, beef tongue, beef tripe. We also tried lamb (doesn't have a strong lamb flavour but personal preference), pork belly, pork neck (this one was quite fatty). We got different vegetable items as well. We quite enjoyed the shrimp balls. They actually give a big portion compared to other places. However, I found both the broth and soy sauce to be quite salty. We got a japanese sukiyaki soup base and a tomato soup base. The tomato soup base was definitely tomato forward. We tried icecream twist and mango sago. Not impressed with either of them. This chain is one of my family's go-to for hot pot. This restaurant is always packed and they offer a nice variety of broths and a ton of good quality meats for what I feels to be a reasonable price. The staff are very attentive and are very good about refiling broth and drink. If you enjoy legit Chinese hot pot, this chain does it right. First off, the place is clean. Even has pillows in the booths which I found to be different! The service was okay. No one was there to sit us down so I had to flag down a server. They didn't look too busy either. Most tables were empty. Throughout the night, the server didn't really check on us. Occasionally they would come by to clean up or refill the soup but we again, had to flag someone down to do that at times. Lastly, the food. The tom yum was doable but not the best I've had. Tasted a bit too salty. The mild house special was so spicy that I feel like I didn't taste much flavor. The meats weren't special. I couldn't taste the difference between any of the meats. This is a very popular spot for AYCE hot pot, so be prepared to wait at least 1-1.5 hr on the weekend/1 hr on weekdays. You can't call in to place a spot as you have to come in person to place your spot in the tablet. Reservations are only allowed to be made ahead of time for larger groups, and I would suggest to double check you have the right location as they have locations in Richmond BC as well. Although the wait times are generally long, this Liuyishou offers a few deals for waiting a certain amount of time. Their menu offers a good selection of meat, seafood, vegetables, snacks and much more. The only thing they don't have much of are desserts unless you pay for the premium options. I got the White Pepper Chicken broth which was quite tasty, and I honestly couldn't help but drink bowls of it For sauces, there is a table in the middle of the restaurant, and as well as fruits and the fried buns/seasame balls too. To order, you'd have to get a server, but it's usually not an issue as they're constantly coming around. Seating is 2 hrs, but you only have 1.5 hrs to order. Food generally came quite quickly, and staff are always around to clean your table. My only complaint would be that we waited over 15 mins for our popsicles, and when we finally got it, we had to pack up and leave as our seating time was over. Friendly, helpful, attentive service. Our server, Clark, was very nice. This hot pot restaurant had all of the typical meat options and soup bases. They also have a station to make your own sauce, it also had some spring rolls, buns, and fruit. I liked the ambiance here, the music was great, top 40s songs playing, and nice tables and lighting as well! I'm from NYC and a lot of hot pot places have you order on a tablet, but here you ordered with your server. Everything came out quickly and accurately, we were never missing any of our order which happens often when ordering on a tablet. Since I live in Markham, we decided to go to the one in Richmondhill, where 100 degrees used to be. We arrived at 7pm, and I left my number and name on their waiting list. There was already a long line of people waiting to be seated, but we thought maybe 1 hr of waiting time should be enough before they called us in. We waited 3 hours. We ate at 10pm. Thank goodness I had food/snacks for my toddler. Service was fast and food was fresh. They do have a sauce station where you can make your own sauce, and they have cold appetizers, fruits and fried foods for you to grab yourself, but the fried foods at the station was lacking and not fresh. The crispy fried pork that you order from the server is a must get. The restaurant itself is a bit small, and they have promotions for how long you wait, you get compensated. Since we waited for 3hrs, we got 12% off our bill. Definitely come early, or be prepared to wait. read more

Maybe I'm just not a Chinese hot pot type of gal (despite being a a Japanese/Korean shabu lover), because I didn't enjoy the food as much as I had hoped. I ordered the duck soup base and also got to try the house special soup base (medium spice). They were both overly fragrant and oily for my liking. And the house special soup base had an uncomfortable numbing type of spice (even though I'm a Korean, spice lover). Otherwise, the selection of hot pot fillers were plentiful. Veggies were fresh. I loved the mushrooms and tofu. Homemade noodles were also good. Though I wish there were more varied cuts of beef and pork (there was only 1) over the obscure meat offerings like lamb and frog legs. I wouldn't recommend the frog legs because the seasoning on them changes the taste of the broth. The sauce station was a fun concept, though I would've liked there to be instructions or combination recommendations for creating a tasty sauce (for non-Chinese folks). A lot of the Chinese ingredients/pastes were unfamiliar to me so I had a hard time gauging which ingredients combined would create a tasty dipping sauce. I experimented with 5 different sauce "recipes" before I landed on something that I actually liked lol. Food aside, the wait was long (45min even though we got there at 6pm on a Thursday), but once seated, the service was really quick and efficient. The servers constantly topped up our soups and waters, and brought us the items we ordered. Overall, at $40+ pp for AYCE + the soup bases (before taxes and tip), I found the price to be steep for the food that was offered and my enjoyment of the experience. My husband and cousin seemed to agree with this sentiment. read more

The tomato soup base is also a go to. Keep in mind they are so busy on Saturday nights. I made a reservation for 6:30pm and they called twice to make sure I was on the way. They also promptly need to table back after the two hour period. When I entered and left there were about 20 guests on the waitlist. They have a great promotion going on right now. Came here last night with my brother Kam and it was a first for me. It was absolutely delicious. Lots of different variety of food to be selected for your hot pot. I got their famous spicy butter broth medium - good amount of heat and enjoyable. I loved their selections of sauces in the middle of the restaurant. They also had cold side dishes included with the AYCE and I've never seen that before at hotpot. They had cold pigs ear, crawfish, tofu, chicken feet and more. I always stick to the same pork and lamb slices, beef balls with pork in the center (SO JUICY and darn good, such a rare find at hotpot!), they also had these amazing pork balls with chives that were literally to die for. They reminded you of the dimsum pork chive dumplings - so good in hotpot! Got my watercress veggies, enoki mushrooms, red sausages, quail eggs and LOTS MORE. I honestly thought this place was a bit more expensive compared to other hot pot places but it was well worth it over the different selections of meats, meatballs, veggies, noodles and so much more! The waiting time for two people was about 20 mins when I got in and joined the waitlist with 4 groups ahead of us. It wasn't that bad. As soon as we got the text to be seated, we were seated and served immediately. We can order more food from the server and the service was impeccable. This place was PACKED yet they still managed to clear our empty dishes and fill up our water without asking! It was great! The ambiance was nice. Good vibes, clean tables - they just need to look after their washrooms more - I almost threw up in the washroom, it was pretty dirty and not their faults that customers don't know how to flush their toilets completely but it was not a good sight to see. They also had mouth wash and toothpicks and mini cups for you to use to freshen up after your dinner. I would come here again. The food and selection alone was amazing. I'm not sure if this is a Covid-19 thing or it's always been like this but we were told that they would only hold our reservation for 10 minutes. The hostess seemed more interested in checking my temperature rather than my proof of vaccination and ID. As a group of 9, I liked that we were seated in a room separated from other customers. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer at each end of the table. The servers frequently checked up on us to see if we wanted to order more or if our water and/or soy milk needed to be refilled. The sauce station was located in the centre of the restaurant and there was also cut up fruit there as well. The paper placemat was informational. There were cooking times listed for quite a few ingredients. We ordered two pots with a single soup base and another with two different soup bases. We got a variety of meats, veggies, seafood and more. For dessert there were two options and after putting in our order we had to follow up. When we did get our dessert it was lukewarm. Perhaps our order was forgotten until we inquired again. I liked that they willingly split the bill so that we could each pay separately. Right now (summer 2024), they have a super good deal for $37/adult Mon-Thursday lunch that includes the following: -all you can eat off their regular menu -all you can drink -dessert -soup base also included!! Honestly I love Liuyishou, they have the best bang for your buck AYCE hotpot around the region, and that's saying something given how many hotpot restaurants there are along highway 7. This is one of the staples for my family when we go out for food on cold winter days! The quality and cut of the meats is always good, and I find that their servers are always super friendly and eager to help. I do feel that they are understaffed, and this is evident whenever I come here during peak dinner hours. But the staff always have an eager attitude and that more than makes up for it. However, today I have to say I had a horrendous experience. The food and service was still good, but I got to experience what it's like dining in the seat closest to the front of the house for the first time, and it was terrible! They have no crowd control here, so when there's lots of people waiting, especially on a cold day like today, the small waiting/ reception area is always overcrowded, and the customers end up spilling into the main dining area. As you can see from my picture, I spent the entire meal dodging elbows/ winter coats and trying to make sure no one toppled over the plastic barrier. But what really made me go through the effort to leave this review was that eventually, someone got knocked over from the crowd and fell onto my dad across from me and nearly knocked his face into the boiling pot. This is a HUGE safety concern and one that I really suggest management to address soon. I love the food and service here but this seems to be an overlooked safety hazard and I'm sad to have to leave a bad review due to my experience tonight! I had been craving for hot pot.. and so finally step3 re opening, the first in person resturant I go to is Liuyishou. During , COVID the restaurant had a renovation , which became more spacious between tables and they had Plexiglass installed between tables for Covid measures. They also re did the sauce table , which is now covered . The fruits and salad section, also covered. The issue with that part is the staff need to remember to cover after if customer forgets to cover after use, else there is not point for it. They had sanitizer for every table which was convenient . It was nice, the menu seem to be similar than before. They now have the robot to come deliver the food. Food quality is still great! The customer service was always good even before, and still good now. I see the boss walking around to supervise and I really appreciate the customer service they provide. All the staff is helpful, polite, and they keep coming to check up on us and then providing extra napkins and refilling water/ soup without being asked. This was always the best place in my opinion, and with the VIP card I had, it takes $2 off each person. read more

I came to this AYCE Hotpot restaurant for a dinner celebration on a Saturday night. I highly recommended making a reservation during the weekend as the restaurant is really busy. Please note that they will only hold your reservation for 10 minutes max so don't be late. They adhere to the vaccine passport along with ID and they take your temperature before getting in. If you are queasy about dining indoors, this is not the place to get started as it was really busy and crowded. We were a party of six and they sat us on a table with only two burners. Therefore we decided to get two of the 3 Flavour Sided Soup base pots for the six of us. We went with a combination of Pork Bone, Traditional Spicy, Mushroom and Tom Yum Soup. They had a wide variety of high quality meats, seafood, vegetables, hand made balls and snacks with a variety of dipping sauces and fruits on their buffet style serving area. My favourite ingredients were the New Zealand lamb, the beef and pork slices, fresh shrimps, the mussels, pork belly along with the vegetables and Udon noodles. They also have frog legs and chicken feet among other delicacies if you want to be adventurous. The waiters were pretty attentive in refilling the soup along with taking our subsequent orders for more ingredients. We decided to finish off our night with some Melona ice cream bars and some fresh fruits. The price point can get a bit expensive when you add all of the extra cost that they charge including an additional surcharge for being a weekend. However, if you take into account the quality of the ingredients and the amount of food that they provide, it was worth it. The restaurant is fairly clean including the washrooms. Chongqing Liuyishou Hotpot is another popular restaurant chain from China that's made a footprint in the GTA. Similar to the downtown location, this spot on Hwy 7/Leslie used to another hotpot place. Must be part of their marketing geography to start from an existing market base, and absorb a competitor too. We arrived around noon and it was barely occupied. Good thing we did as the tables filled up quickly with a wait line. Guess spicy hotpot on summer days is a popular thing now! We had the two-flavour hotpot: beef butter oil spicy soup base & braised fowl soup base with chinese herbs. The sauce mixing station had helpful recipes which I followed for the garlic oil sauce, as opposed to my typical sesame/leak or satay sauces. One head waiter ran around taking orders but he was very pleasant when called upon. For the prices, the quality of ingredients was commensurate as the sliced AAA beef had good marbling and the addictive handmade shrimp & cuttlefish pastes had decent fish-to-starch ratio. The flavours definitely became more intense through the slow boil of the loaded soup ingredients. We weren't fond of the more exotic Szechuan "delicacies" and my wife particularly despised frog so we didn't try that either to compare it to chicken under numbing spiciness. All the typical hotpot items were on order and arrived shortly. Especially the large beef & lamb platters which were perfect in the cauldron of fire. Yes, it's true that Liuyishou pricing is higher than most other Chinese hotpot places starting at $27.95 on weekends before add-ons. That's because soup base, drink pitchers, and dessert are all add-on items. They had a promo offer for AliPay users: 50% off soup base and a free pitcher. Had the house special spicy broth - fantastic! Midway I was in tears inhaling my meat throughout my meal and had to push through the spicy pain to get my moneys worth. Even my northern friends couldn't handle it. Go with mild (ik.. it kills me to even type mild) and do yin yang broth. But honestly, what made this place different was their drinks. We broke the golden AYCE rule by filling up on drinks, but their watermelon juice was so good. No fake Americanized syrup or watered down juice and it's unlimited if you're willing to take a $4 hit. First time here and had a great experience! We went early (5:30pm) on a Thursday so there was no wait! But more people poured in later on. We previously wanted to dine here on a Saturday but were told it was a 3 hour wait! I liked the array of sauces and condiments to choose from and the station also had free fruits and seaweed salad, etc for us to get. I especially liked the option of having individual pots so it's more hygienic. There's about 6 broth options and standard assortment of AYCE stuff. Liuyishou is a very popular hotpot place and I recommend making reservations if possible as if you come over the weekend it's a few hours of a wait. I waited for around an hour before my friend and I got seated which is not too bad. This is an AYCE place and the quality of the food is decent and there's also a decent selection of food. However, whatever soup you get it always tends to get super salty near the end and not as enjoyable anymore. But other than that the service is friendly as well! read more

Overall I enjoyed my meal here. The place is very spacious, so it doesn't feel stuffy and steamy all over. We did have to wait for a good 30 minutes even thou we were here on a weeknight evening. Very busy place! Good selections of your usual hot pot items, veggies were fresh and clean. Soup base was good. Sauce, some side and the deep fried buns were self serve. The power went out half way thru, so we got to experience hot pot o'noir for a few minutes. read more
