My two biggest complaints are: (1) the price to launch a small human powered boat is too high in my opinion. Just go to the Town Park instead. You can park and launch for free, however you cannot park overnight there if you are island camping. My other gripe (2) is that they have a lakeside grill / food truck which is horrendously overpriced! A kebab and a small dry salmon burger were $24 EACH with no real side, unless you count a single leaf of lettuce. Well, I'll never do that again. What a rip off. It's too bad because it's a cool idea and the place looks cute. I guess it's the whole captive audience thing.

We are now fishing happily on our boat instead of it being dead in the water for 2-3 months! Thank you EZ Marine for your help! Oh and Missy and the rest of the staff who help schedule storage and sell boating items (think of a small West Marine, but you don't have to drive to Albany!) are super as well. Very friendly service from the dock workers who clearly know what they're doing. On the plus side, it's a straight line to back your boat into the water. That definitely would make it easy for someone like me who has no dang clue at reversing with a trailer. On the minus side, it's a heck of a steep hill to get your boat onto the trailer and out of the marina. You're going to need all the possible torque to be successful at driving up the hill. At the top, there was a shady spot that made it easy to get all the day's rubbish and coolers out of the boat so it was ready to transport back to the parking. It would have been nice if they had a dumpster or a trash can up there but they don't. We brought the trash with us instead. Fuel's not cheap, so fill up before you get here. Amazing stop at Lynn's marina and Tavern at Lock 12. For starters, this is our third time stopping…read morehere on our Jetski trips. Lynn is the reason we keep coming back. He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. (Lynn, if you are reading this, pencil us in again for next summer, we'll be back!)

We went to many private owners and dealerships that sold old and new boats in the Lake George area, but when we entered Yankee Boating, being greeted by Brian MacDuff (Sales Manager), right away we felt like VIPs and Brian's attention to detail and to our needs as new boat owners was just incredible. What's more amazing is that, although we ended up purchasing a used boat from Yankee, Brian never let up on his attention to detail and personal touch, and made sure we left Yankee with an amazing 2014 Monetary 204 FS. This has been an incredible experience that I know we would not have found anywhere else. It doesn't stop there; the entire team at Yankee Boating continued our amazing experience. Whether it was Kate in service preparing our boat to be in tip top shape, or Nino at the Yankee Marina who went above and beyond to assist us in a moment of need, each part of the Yankee family provided us with an experience second to none. The bottom line is that Yankee has proven to be, without a doubt, the total boating experience. If you are in the market for a new or used boat, definitely go to Yankee. Don't even bother with the other shops; I promise you that you won't get the experience and quality that Yankee Boating has to offer. On our first day, they graciously allowed us to drop off our unmotorized kayaks. Inside the bowed workshop slash hanger a seaplane which was someone's pet project. When ask if it was one of the guys, one bark out with a side smirk, "I only fix 'em and there's no way you'd ever see me trying to fly one, so I guess I'd never own one." Behind the Hanger, three tier storage barn, with neatly wrapped boats in storage. Across the main road on an open parcel, guessing 10+ acres, full of other boats similarly wrapped on trailers in storage. The crew was busy prepping as orders arrived for the summer season. We debated a rental if the kayaking began to fizzle - that never happened. They service, store, rent, and sell a mix of water craft.
