There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. There have been multiple times over the course of the last several months that we've had ordering issues with both for carry out, as well as a horrible experience at the craft house. Most recently, we've tried ordering carry out from the pub house and have not been successful any time. We understand the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant closes and have ordered well before this time frame. It seems like the online ordering may shut down 3 hours before the kitchen closes, which is what we experienced tonight. The cherry on top was calling in to place our carry out order at 915pm (kitchen closes at 11pm tonight) - someone answered (and we were like "yay!") but then were put on hold, waited for 15 min and tried to call back for the next hour and 15 min and no one answered no matter what option we selected. So what I've been able to deduce from these multiple experiences is Murphy's doesn't like carry out traffic and isn't willing to take money from local fans. It's one thing if your website says "ordering stops at 7pm" - we'd order prior to 7pm. But when it says "kitchen closes 1 hour before closing" and nothing else about carry out, no warning while preparing our order that we wouldn't be able to place the order (like other local establishments provide) or employees who could answer the phone and easily say what the actual rules are - like "I know it says online the kitchen closes 1 hour before closing but we actually stop taking carryout orders 3 hours before the kitchen closes" - then we'd be informed and be able to operate in a manner where we understand what the boundaries are. I've had business dealings with this business and it's not surprising they are as or more disorganized on the customer side as they are on the actual business side. I reached out to the owner tonight and received no response. I hope this review helps take business away from Murphy's pub house. Since we aren't allowed to give them our business, maybe no one should.

For entree, my dining partner had today's special which was a shredded chicken sandwich that had a jalapeño cheese sauce and the house chips. She said it was very good and again half the sandwich came home. I had their breaded tenderloin which was very good, with nice breading to meat ratio and was a bit larger than the bun. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. It came ala carte with no sides. Service was excellent, exceptionally friendly and really took care of us. One of the best waiters I've come across. We opted to eat in the air condition enclosed "patio" type area which had a bit more light, but was also noisy today due to the tin lined walls/ceiling and another group that was quite loud. Made it a bit hard to converse. Normally don't think this would be an issue. While not tons of items on the menu, the selection was quite varied and you could really splurge on a filet or other such dish and really go all in for a more lavish dinner or have a burger or tenderloin, all at any time of day.
