The food was amazing! This restaurant goes well beyond the average Italian fare. Calamari was the juiciest I've ever had and their red sauce has incredible depth. They even offered to box up our leftover pizza (also well beyond standard pizza) to take back to New York. Ambience was also spot on! read more

We were staying in nearby Jim Thorpe and came here for a quick lunch on the way to some other place. The space is both a quick pizza by the slice area and a separate dining room for sit down. This is an amazing Italian restaurant that also makes really good pizza, sandwiches, and gyros. Don't be fooled that it's a pizza place that attempts to make Italian dishes. Not great, when I only get 4 pita triangles for so much more food to take home that I asked for more pita to go, which I would've been more than glad to pay an up charge for. I was told "no" we are too busy. Even though there were still 4 tables outside that were empty. I don't know about the inside, but still... What would've been a better reply would have been ..."yes that is possible. It will take 15 minutes (or however how long), is that acceptable to you?" and then I could've decided if I was willing to wait or not which I would've been willing to wait because we sat there for at least 15 more minutes drinking the rest of our wine. The driver texted me to say he was at my house, I replied, no you're not, but he clearly didn't care. This place has great, high quality food. I had a small bit of a wait but besides that my food was perfect. Been here a few times and the wait time is always the same but it doesn't bother me because of the quality of the food. Four of us went for dinner. 3 of us ordered the Caesar salad which was a $1.50 extra. The waitress brought the salads. For all four of us, it was simply a green salad. 3 of us received pre-packaged Caesar dressing and the other person got a pre-packaged blue cheese dressing. So why the extra $1.50? Do they not know what a Caesar salad is, which is romaine lettuce tossed in a Caesar dressing with croutons. It shouldn't be on the menu as a Caesar salad. It's a green salad with a side of Caesar dressing which for some odd reason costs $1.50 more. Very odd and misleading. read more

8/31/24 - after hearing family members say Lorenzo's was the best pizza in the area, we had to try it. We ordered a white pizza with black olives, onions and mushrooms. Awesome pizza. Very tasty, great crust, Kalamata olives were plentiful. While we were waiting we perused the imported items from Italy. Radiatore pasta, salami's, cheeses, breads. Italian wines in their wine bar area. Fantastic local gem of a restaurant. Will plan on eating at Lorenzo's again on our next trip to Lehighton. read more

Honestly, not a bad choice if you're famished! Looking for something comforting in the night, I ended up ordering gnocchi and 3 pierogis through delivery. Even though it was maybe 10-15 mins away from where I was stationed, the food was still piping hot on arrival. Both the gnocchi and pierogis had great flavor. Pierogis had that wonderful tangy potato flavor and the gnocchi came with a wonderful, basil filled sauce. Aside from the flavor though, the execution of both items were a bit off. Although plenty of gnocchi was served, it was a bit chewy. And the pierogi exterior wasn't tender. It was kind of like they fried the exterior once, but not enough to brown the dough, you know? But still, ended up devouring most of my meal! If you're in the area, you can give it a try! Or maybe try one of the countless (endless) italian places in the area! read more

Came to Lorenzo's for dinner with my infant, toddler and husband. The service is amazing. The food comes out fast and everything was delicious. The portions were also pretty big. The indoor and outdoor dining areas are small and intimate. The waitresses are always attentive and sweet. The food is good, but can be hit or miss at times. I've only ever had their appetizers and dinners, but friends have said the pizza is good as well when they order. read more

This deceptive gem is a real find! It accommodated a group of 17 on short notice without batting an eye. The food was delicious and encompassed everything from crispy Calamari appetizers, honey wings that were delicious, and a very large range of entrees and pizzas (excellent even by our myopic NY standards!) Our waitress was supported by her fellow staff and was able to comfortably handle our big group largely unassisted. After a long day rafting this was a great pleasure. This is the best restaurant in the Lehighton area! I had the mushroom ravioli and it was phenomenal. My husband had the chicken park and it was enough for 3 meals and very good. My sister had their pasta and sausage and it was also a really large portion and she loved it. We had bruschetta with prosciutto and provolone for an appetizer and it was ridiculously tasty. Good Food, Worried About the Politics We ordered the Lasagna to go. It was very good - even reheated in a microwave. The salad was OK. I asked for balsamic dressing, I got creamy Italian. Unfortunately, the counter staff were not wearing masks. In fact, no employee was wearing a mask. In the sixth hour of the drive home from Toronto, we found that our hunger required attention before we travelled much further. Lehighton, PA, was the next exit off Route 476, so it was there we sought sustenance. Yelp identified Lorenzo Pizza Kitchen on North 1st Street as a good candidate for our road weary lunch. We saw it right away, pulled into their parking lot alongside, and went in. We found a small lobby with cashier and view of the kitchen. To the left were two dining rooms. We were directed into the most distant one, and took a table close to the front window. Two other tables were occupied by people who lived in the area. Though they didn't seem to know each other, they had no problem striking up a conversation about local civic events. It made for a pleasant introduction to this coal country community. We ordered a large pizza, half sausage/half plain, as that was what our lovely server recommended as one of the things her father the owner/chef was famous for. Who were we to doubt her? And, she was right about knowing from pizza. The pie arrived 20 minutes later all abubble and steaming. First bite was stupendous! The crust beneath the wheel was perfect. Firm, crunchy and tasty with a touch of salt. The red sauce had a light sweetness and chunkiness. The only weakness was the overload of cheese that started running off the disk the moment a slice was lifted off the tray. It was decent cheese, but I prefer the tomato sauce to dominate a pie, rather than the cheese. That's a matter of taste, but in this instance the runoff was almost a cheese slide. Less is more. Still, a fun and delicious stop on the road home. Definitely a place to call home for those from Lehighton who look far and wide for a place to chow down. Owner chef Alex went to culinary school in Rome, and it shows. If in the area I would return to try more of their dishes. read more
