Wow! I'm a Canby native and visited this restaurant once years ago when it first opened-it was a different name then and I believe different ownership as well though I'm not certain on that. We weren't impressed so we never went back. Fast forward to not too long ago the name change and rebrand and we thought why not give them another try...now I'm worried I might have been missing out for years! They are open for dine in service again and seem to be doing a very thorough job of following all the COVID social distancing regulation. We were seated right away and every staff member we interacted with was very friendly and professional. They served us chips and salsa and refried beans to start, the salsa was delicious which is always a big factor for me in choosing a Mexican restaurant. The chips were a little stale, my only complaint of the whole meal. Our food was served very quickly after ordering. I ordered the enchiladas banderos and I would definitely recommend! My partner ordered a steak dish, I'm not generally a big beef fan but I tried a bite and it was delish! The prices were a little steep for a casual Mexican food dinner, the other comparable restaurant in town is around $12-14 for entrees and they were more like $13-20. Overall great staff, great food, I definitely won't wait so long for my next visit! read more

Having tried the other Mexican places in town and unimpressed with them, I was happy to see this place go in next to the dry cleaners. Went on a Friday and was given attentive and very friendly service. Had a pork dish with a red sauce cooked in a banana leaf...so tender and delicious!! My partner had a steak dish cooked to perfection. We were both quite pleased with our meals and will be returning! They don't have a liquor license yet so no margaritas, but I intend on trying those when they get it. If you want good, non-Americanized Mexican food...give this a try! Yummy! read more

Went in with a large group of 9 people. Service was really good (love the ladies' smile) and the portions were big! Great Mexican food with a variety to suit different people. Even the 93-year-old grandpa enjoyed his bean soup. Our family really had a great time there! read more

I do not ever write reviews but i felt very strongly in writing this one. My family and I have eaten here once before and had a horrible experience but we thought we would try it again. Upon arriving, it was clear that the place was very busy and likely short staffed. We asked for a table and was told it would be about 10-20 minutes. After about 10 minutes, we were seated and that was the extent of the decent service. 30 minutes and two people within my party searching for help, we were finally brought water, although not enough cups for those sitting at the table. We gave that server our order even though it was obvious that our table was outside of his normal zone. 40 minutes later, our food came. We then had to wait another 10 minutes for silverware, despite asking two of the employees to bring us some. When the food did come out, it was clear that the kid's macaroni and cheese had been heated in the microwave as it was burned and almost entirely inedible (see photo). The rest of our table's food was mediocre at best. As I mentioned, I recognize that the place was busy and likely understaffed. The service we did receive, plus the overall poor quality of food, was the nail in the coffin for us. We will not be returning, ever, and I encourage anyone who reads this to find somewhere else to spend their money. It wasn't worth it. read more

This has quickly become my favorite restaurant in Canby! Every dish I have tried has been AMAZING! I especially love the Pollo a la Crema and Pollo Chipotle. The chips and salsa are great- and funny as it sounds... I am kind of picky about my iced tea. Most places either water it down too much or it just has a funny taste- the tea at Los Dos Amigos is fantastic! And last- but definitely not least... the staff there has to be the friendliest at any restaurant here in town. They have gotten to know our family- so every time we come in- they always greet us with big smiles, hugs for my 5 year-old, and ask where any missing family members are. Very tasteless salsa, and food was just so so! When she brought me my plate she handed it to me and it burnt my hand. She was using a pot holder and she handed it to me. I dropped it and she said whoops. That's it. As she walked away she laughed and told her coworker about it and he giggled looked at me then once we made eye contact he stopped. This is the best Mexican in Canby. Great location, always parking available. They do have a happy hour and a smaller, cozy bar off the side of the restaurant​. Decided to try this for the first time. Staff was very attentive and friendly. There was four of us in our group and we all sampled each other's dishes. The salsa and guacamole were top notch. Main dishes came and I was blown away. The meat was very tender and the sauce was mouth watering. I sampled some of my wife's surf and turf fajitas and the shrimp and meat were cooked to perfection. My parents and I decided to try this place for dinner and it was delicious- everything had very good flavor. I had the carnitas plate and it was well seasoned and tender. My parents both had combination plates with ground beef and said it has very good flavor. Nice sized portions, and staff was friendly. I've been to every Mexican restaurant in Canby or Oregon City, this is going to be my favorite go to place, for south of the border flavor. The menu had the usual fair, as well as, a few unaccustomed choices. I tried a Yucatan special called Cochinita Pibil, it was soooo flavorful. My wife has a seafood dish, Camerones, I had to taste it too, it was great. The chips and salsa was nice and spicy, good flavor. I will be a regular! read more

Well, it was great as Los Dos Amigos, but now it's Los Dos Agavas and the quality is lacking. It's had a "make over" but you won't get the same dishes or the great Mexican food as we did from the previous owners. So sorry to see this once great restaurant now become just another mediocre Mexican restaurant. I've tried it twice with the new owner, but no more. The prices have increased, the quality and friendliness is gone! read more

I can't even. I will start by saying our waiter was very nice. However. Our food took over an hour to come out. We found a cockroach in our chips and a piece of plastic in a taco. We may have been able to push past this, maybe. But there we were not given an apology, to be honest no one even acknowledged it was even an out of the ordinary problem.
