This place is a bit hole in the wall despite the location. The food is great and quantities are large. I've only been in during the evening so I've never seen many people eating in. The service is good and fast. I believe we've ordered burritos, quesadillas, and tacos so far with different kinds of meat. They were all really good, but we especially liked the pork and lengua. We tried this place initially due to reasons purely for convenience. After our first experience we were hooked. Prices are cheap and the food is tasty. Reading the reviews, it sounds like most people frequent this place when drunk/wasted for drunk food. I can confirm that even when sober this place holds up to the test. Sorry, Los 3 Panchos... your food was pretty bland. I ordered a small chicken burrito with everything (chicken AND lettuce. woot woot) and a carne asada taco. The burrito was so bland, I had to check to make sure they didn't serve me a sponge instead of chicken. Sad when an "authentic" burrito is filled with un seasoned, chewy chicken. Had they tossed it on the flat top and actually seasoned it, it probably would've been decent. The carne asada taco was pretty decent, but nothing amazing. I also ordered guacamole and chips. She asked if I wanted the half order or full. I said " I don't know.. what do you think?" She responded "the full order feeds about 6 people". What??? The guac was heavy on the lemon, and not as green as I would like. My guess is that the avocados weren't on the fresh side, so they add a bunch of salt and lime juice to give it some flavor. Stock chips from a bag, too... lame. All in all, not great. Not even good. If you've never had real mexican food outside of Taco Bell, you might like this, but for me, I'd say go somewhere else. There are so many other great places that try much harder. Try Picante, L' Patron, La Tresspasada or Mayan Palace. Unless, you know... you want bland, tasteless food. read more

Just on the other side of the building from Delilah's, this is a HITW (Hole In The Wall) mexican taco joint/stand that serves up good tasting/bad for ya, fast mexican food that is very cheap. The small soft tacos....3 will fill you up and all for just under $6....amazing! The last time I was there I was meeting someone at Delilahs and was about 10 minutes early......but hadn't eaten dinner yet....I ducked in there, got my food fast, and was on time to meet my friends.....full stomach....which is needed for $3 beer/shot combos at Delilahs *grin*. This is my favorite late night, post-party Mexican joint. Yep, it trumps La Pasadita and Arturo's past midnight for sure...and I judge this based on the chorizo taco. Some places make chorizo somewhat healthy, so it's loses the grease but then it's too bland for me. Then others make it too greasy and the chorizo takes up the whole taco. Here, the ratio of chorizo to cheese, cilantro, etc. and the spiciness/grease are perfect for the nightcap. I've eaten here during the day when sober and it still rocks! The al pastor and chile relleno's pretty good. The cheese fries have to be amazing because my roommate who hates all cheese only orders them from here. Okay, so she's drunk when this happens but still... Ambience is reminiscent of Weiner Circle or the last call of any LP bar. Lots of drunk douchebags, but you're probably one of them or with them. You can figure out who's hooking up with who or trying to. There's also the occasional sing-a-long. And if you speak Spanish, it's fun to gossip about everyone to the guy taking your order. read more

Now keep in mind, I've only eaten here while drunk. Usually after leaving Delilah's or Southport Lanes. That being said, I've eaten here while drunk no less than 25 times over the course of a few years and have never been disappointed by 3 Panchos. I usually get a burrito or some tacos and end up spending less than 5 bucks. I've seen some crazy stuff happen here i.e. flashing, people pissing on cars outside, and fights outside, but for the most part, people settle down once they come inside. And the food? Let me put it this way, I'm not vegetarian, and I still have no problems ordering the veggie burrito here. It's that good. Regardless of what you get, make sure you ask for the green salsa to put on it. I like it so much, on more than one occasion, I've bought a small container of it to take home. A best kept secret! Los 3 Panchos actually has really great tasting, nicely prepared, fresh food! Now, I write that like I am surprised....and maybe I am? I didn't go too crazy....just a quesadilla and chips and salsa but it didn't taste greasy and gross. It tasted like a real, official restaurant would have it taste. Again, I am a bit surprised! This place is the textbook definition of hole-in-the-wall. They have the best verde I've ever had anywhere. Their chicken is so tender and juicy, and the steak nachos gave me the best food coma I've had in a while. The people who work there are patient and sweet, I'm definitely a forever customer and at this point a regular LOL the peppered steak tacos changed my life. I see two possibilities: 1. I had just not as good of an experience here as everyone else. 2. The alcohol in everyone elses bodies combined chemically with the food here to produce some outerworldy culinary euphoria. I'm guessing the former is probably more on the mark. Went over, ordered my usual: avocado torta - and because I felt a little guilty charging $4.50 to a credit card for a non-chain restaurant, I added a cheese quesadilla. The food isn't bad (I say as my stomach tries to chime in) but it really wasn't what I'd expect. On the torta, flavor-wise, it was okay. But, there were issues. First, the sandwich was wet. They clearly didn't toast the bun long enough - and their tomatoes or lettuce must have been drenched, since the bun couldn't have been described as anything but soggy. Avocado looked like it had been sitting out for a bit, but as I said before, it all tasted okay. As to the cheese quessadilla, again - not on the grill long enough. It just wasn't melted. But, I nuked it at my office, and it was fine. I'll be back to review again - I think there's a lot of room for improvement here, and it's just too convenient to avoid altogether. I'll probably end up trying something different on the menu next time. 2 * for the food. The three panchos is certainly a legit Mexican spot. My buddy was telling me he was craving the mex, next think I know I was standing in front of the pueblos. Although we were only customers I liked the vibe. The guy who helped us was pushing the steak burrito pretty heavily. My friend took the bait, I went with steak taco. Taco was loaded up with HQ ingredients, with TWO tortillas wrapping it to ensure togetherness. I dig that. Everything was delicious and don't forget the green spicy salsa...great condiment. So overall Chipotle may be standardized and farm raised but there's just something great about a independent Mexican spot with great food. Friends and I were looking for a easy taco place in the early evening on a great Sunday. There was no one when we went in and so we were able to order right away. The staff greeted us when we walked in and placing our order was a breeze with them. All three of us only waited about 5 minutes for fresh food. As far as the price goes, it is reasonable. Not the best bang for the buck, but certainly not overpriced. Only complaint I had about Los 3 Panchos was the hot sauce. I would have liked the green sauce to be more spicy as it typically is, but it was a very mild spice. This, in addition to the condition of the restaurant (only 4 or 5 tables, and kind of outdated), warranted the 4 starts. If you need something to calm your stomach or sober up after too much to drink, come here. I've had the tacos here a couple times now, and they are okay overall. They are generously filled in comparison to many other places and they are more tex-mex style because they include cheese and sour cream (you can ask for mex style onion + cilantro if you want), so it's great for filling you up quickly and cheaply. But don't expect delicious meat toppings. They are only okay. Los 3 Pancho meats definitely lack a lot of flavor--really good spicing and quality--that you'd find at a great taco place. I've had their asada, pollo, chorizo, al pastor, and vege tacos and the best have been asada and vege--which are pretty good. I wouldn't make a point of stopping here. But if you need something to eat and don't want to go far, then it's a fine choice. read more

Fantastic food, service, and overall atmosphere. The team there really makes you feel welcome. The food is so good -- the only downside is that, after eating it, my girlfriend is so filled that she doesn't want to bone. One big & badd ass family owned house of love for food. Digging this I used to go there many years ago when my girlfriend worked in the area. My mind took me back to the remembrance of how I was blown away of the "maxnifican" size of their "Baritto" and their wonderful prices. So, about a week of this post I hit their spot one more time even though I currently reside near Clyburn and Division. "Bingo" I in state of heaven when u got there and was very pleased to see them open. I got my grup, went home as the warmest of my very large meal warmed my hands on the chill midday eve event. This place is awesome. Its always good for late night, drunken excursions. Everything on the menu is pretty much delicious, and its super cheap. Food comes out fast, and the guy thats always there, taking your order is super nice. Cant really say anything that hasn't already been said. Only complaint: More seating! If you go in at peak times, be prepared to eat outside or in the car. However, they cant really get more seating without moving locations, which i would not like... unless of course it was close to the southport brown line...? ;) read more
