While away on business I stopped by with some locals for lunch. The place is surprisingly large inside and the staff are very friendly. The service was prompt and the food came out hot and quickly. I snapped my picture thinking that was pretty plain tacos but shortly after a waiter brought out toppings for the tacos consisting of carrots, cilantro and white onion. The food was decent but it didn't pack a lot of flavor. Now I was in a large party during the lunch hour so maybe it was just rushed. I would definitely return. read more

Such kind staff! We've been going there for years, even before it moved to its current location. The food never disappoints!

The ambiance was pretty good. The Latino/Latina music in the background set the mood. However, for a Mexican restaurant, it was a little bright maybe a local Oklahoma rule about being able to see your food better. This restaurant was very clean. I was impressed. The service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive. I even dropped a lens out of my prescription glasses and they looked all over , even in the back to help me find them. Good people. The food was good but could have used some tweaking . The chips and hot sauce was very good. My husband and I both ordered unsweet tea and it was very good. (Many times people do not clean their tea urns properly and the tea is sour.) My husband and I both ordered the McAlester Grande. It was so good but could have used a bit more salt. (I am not one to ever salt my food & I think a dish should come out with the perfect amount of salt. I did add a tiny bit of salt from the table and the food was much better. (I don't like over salted food but do like sufficient salt for the dish.) The tamale was very tasty as was the chili on top. The taco was also very good as was the bean tostada/chalupa. The cheese enchilada could use some work. They need to use a better melting cheese for the inside of the cheese enchilada. The cheddar cheese they used was good, it is just cheddar hardens too fast after it cools. (I use a premium American type cheese sometimes mixed with some cheddar and always cheddar on top) read more

We have eaten at this place before and thought it was pretty tasty. So we decided to eat there yesterday but our visit was less than desirable. There cheese dip tasted as if it came out of a can. We also order jalapeños with cheese as appetizer but they where the same as you get from gas station hot box. But when you bit into them they was ice cold and still frozen. So when we sent them back instead of them remaking us a fresh batch, they instead piped the ones we send back in the microwave and then bright them right back out. We also had street tacos and they where probably the worst I've ever had. We will not be going back again. It was such a let down. read more

Very tasty food and fast friendly service. The taste of the old Adeletas and I love the yellow queso.

I visited their new location on S Main/Bus 69 Hwy yesterday with a large party of six and it didn't disappoint. Their previous location on Highway 270 was great food and service but now they have ample room with the same great food and service. Lots of tables and booths for varieties in the number of seating arrangements. The taquitos I ordered were filled with delicious chicken and were so fresh and crispy. I personally test tamales without any sauce and their pork tamales passed for sure, closest to the delightfully homemade flavor I crave. The meat to masa ratio was perfect. The rice was also wonderful with all the flavors of onion, tomato, and great level of seasoning. The rest of our party enjoyed their food as well (pictures) and the portion on the plates were very filling. Chips were fresh and the salsa was tasty, we even tried their habanero salsa which was good if you like more heat. Our waitress was pleasant, answered questions, handled special requests like a pro, kept our drinks filled, and even joked back with the table. With the new location opening they have been incredibly packed so depending on timing there may be a little wait. I'll frequent this new location often and it'll be top of my list for taking large groups to dine. read more

We accidentally stopped here after missing our exit due to the construction - best "mistake" on our trip so far. Taco plates were wonderful as were beans and rice. Service was great - in and out in about 30 minutes on a Friday night. We'll definitely miss out exit next time we're passing through McAlister! read more

Table was dirty, had to get our own silverware, out of some items, service sucked. No reason to return. Never got our complete order after 1 hour and it wasnt worth the wait so we left. Definately won't go back. read more

You must try the Mexicana! Absolutely fantastic and it's my favorite! My husband had the three beef enchiladas and he loved those as well.

I've been here multiple times and really enjoy it. It's one of my top two places to eat Mexican in McAlester. I always get the chicken or shrimp fajitas and they're always good. Yesterday I went with friends and they got the Cancun meal which they recommend as well. Good service. Clean restaurant. Amazing! Evidently spicy is synonymous with Caliente and we did not know that! My husband ordered some "spicy" dish they brought as an appetizer. It was beautiful! I took a bite and for about 30 seconds I thought I had gargled with pepper spray. I couldn't feel my mouth. I looked over at my husband for help and he was crying grabbing for tea. We were both in the same boat. These folks can do Mexican!!! I ordered the Cancun and I still couldn't taste it because my mouth was still on fire! If you've ever tried to take a bite of hot (temperature hot) food while your mouth is on fire then you understand. Double whammy!! My husband laughed and cried and laughed. The waitress laughed and we all laughed. The Cancun was delicious and I will get it again. My husband ordered the Mushroom Quesadillas. Folks, do it! Just do it! We ordered two to take home for supper! The sautéed mushrooms combined with the cheese then grilled up in the flour tortilla is simply the best thing I've ever put in my mouth! Best tamales in town...also very good nachos. Homemade salsa is great. If you like queso the white one is awesome.

Great food, I had the chili verde and it was amazing. Fajitas with steak was good but the chicken fajitas were only okay.
