Because of that, I wasn't eager to give this one a chance. However, after seeing so many positive reviews, I finally decided to give it a shot--and I'm so glad I did! The food here is excellent. The chips and salsa were enjoyable, with a flavorful sauce that wasn't spicy but still tasted great. The aguachile was absolutely delicious--spicy but packed with incredible flavor. My husband ordered the molcajete and said it was really good, while my mom had the fried fish, which she found a bit dry but still very tasty. The only thing we didn't love was the rice, as it had a mushy texture. Aside from that, everything was fantastic. The ceviche tostada was solid as well as the marlin taco. We also ordered the recommended Pulpo Morita (grilled octopus) and Camaron Cajeme. The Pulpo was good but I was expecting a little more crispy. Just needed a little more time on the grill. The Camaron Cajeme was decent. This was a interesting dinner with my cousins. There is a definite language barrier. We did not speak Spanish and serves and all did not speak much English. One employee did slightly so we were able to make do. The others in my party had drinks and were impressed. My cousin and I shared the steak plate - kind of like fajitas but a slab of meat. This was delicious . We needed to add a little salt but was good. We also tried the quesadilla -- this was simple but yummy. I've been here twice. Both times I sat at the bar where I received service by different people. Although the bartender was serving me, everyone in staff was around to help and ensure that I had everything I needed. The people around me both times were regulars and they made for good conversation, making for a great ambiance all around. The food was incredible and both times I practically cleaned the plate. I've been to this place several times and it's really good but this last time we found prices soared and portions got really small. I like enjoying my mariscos like anyone else just don't feel i need to pay so much for shrimp, especially if portions are less. They have quite a bit of food options, I ended up going with the molcajete and it was delicious! We went throughout the week so it was pretty quiet but they have a bar area and dining in the back. Found this gem on Yelp and couldn't be happier. This is a chain out of Mexico, and Phoenix is lucky to have them here. The space is nice, bright and clean - definitely welcoming. We both had Modelos on draft and they were icy cold in a frosted glass. Nice touch. The chips and dips were different and tasty. We shared Camarones a La Diabla and the Rib Eye Chicarron. Each table received chips and some accompaniments before the meal as well and everything was tasty. For the area, this restaurant was very expensive... butts if you look at the menu you will see why. Came here after our son's graduation. Hubby picked it and I am glad he did! This place is delicious! Greeted right away and seated when we arrived. Our waitress was super attentive and nice. They started us off with complimentary chips and condiments. We started out by trying Toritos de Marlin (peppers stuffed with marlin in house made soy sauce a traditional taqueria dish). It was delicious and each one tasted different because the yellow peppers all had different levels of heat. ($10.00) For my main I had Filete Al Ajillo Con Nopal (grilled lemon sole with guajillo, garlic and cactus) ($18.00). It was tasty and was a large platter. They also served hot steamy tortillas with the dish. My husband had Camarones a la Diabla (deviled shrimp in chipotle chiltepin cream sauce) ($18.00). It was also delicious, shrimp were cooked well. Food; Appetizer got the quiso with spicy sausage and it was delicious - hot out of the oven. I did order the Oysters and something was off not sure if the smell or what but could not eat them so sent them back. My entree this visit the was Shrimp cocktail - it was pretty good. Not the best I have had but not the worst. Overall the food was good. Service; Here where it gets tricky - we walked in and a lady helped us initially and then disappeared.
