Pretty easy to find, they also had a small sign on the sidewalk. We were lucky and found a space close to the front door. There is street parking on both sides of the street as well as around the corner. Walking in, the interior is bright and vibrant with many colors. The somewhat limited seating is all tables. We were greeted as we entered and told to sit anywhere. There was only one other table occupied at the time we got there for an early dinner. The very personable owner came by and talked to us for a while and explained the menu. We learned it is family run with their son being a trained chef running the kitchen. In addition to the excellent explanation of the menu items, they also have rotating pictures on a TV screen along the wall so you can see what you are getting. We started with a pork tamale as an appetizer. This was brought out in about five minutes. The first bite was amazing. The corn masa was very flavorful and the pork was fork tender. We could have eaten several more of these as they were amazingly good. As a lover of pupusas, my selection was one each of chorizo, chicken, and loroco filling. All three were excellent. Each was well-filled with flavorful ingredients which could have stood on their own but were enhanced in the pupusa. The accompanying slaw was excellent. There was a hot sauce available which I would rate at about a 7 out of 10, so definitely bringing the heat, but I could not stop adding to to the pupusas because it tasted so good. The chicken stew special was amazingly good. Although simple, the flavors were exceptional. The salad was crisp and fresh. Latin Love is a hidden gem which needs to be discovered. The menu continues to change so there will always be something new to try. A family owned restaurant, owners Leroy and his wife have an obvious love for the community and are proud to share and to serve El Salvadorian / Costa Rican dishes in downtown Kingsport, TN. I've visited here a couple of times and have been so pleased and happy with the selections! From what I learned pupusas are handmade corn cakes (kinda looks like a thick tortilla) but filled with a selection of various filling offered from their menu. Because the pupusas are made from corn, they are gluten-free. I've tried the mixed combo filling (cheese, beans and fried pork), chicken, and chicharron. All have NOT disappoint! The pupusas are served with a side of Curtido, which is a tangy topping for your pupusas made of pickled cabbage, carrots, non-hot peppers. It is SOOO delicious!! I recommend asking for an extra one!! Yes, it's THAT good! The scenery inside is colorful and spacious between parties. They also have outdoor seating if you prefer to people watch while dining. Everyone at the restaurant is so friendly and helpful if you aren't familiar with the cuisine. They are happy to explain the dishes. The cheese one is super good (I think that one is my constant). I got bean this time and chicken and next time I will expand out, with cheese as my constant. My family and I were craving some Latino food last night but being new to the area and not wanting any chain-type restaurants that cater to "gringos", and instead as always crave some authentic Latino food we took to google maps and found this place. We had never had Pupusas before, but have always wanted to try them, so decided to give it a try...and I can tell you that we were NOT disappointed! This place is family owned and puts out authentic Salvadoran cuisine. The flavors were incredible, the owner and his family were super friendly and helpful. The menu - regular menu and a weekly specials menu that changes each week - offered a nice selection of options without being over cluttered, everything was made fresh, homemade beverages - I highly recement the Hibiscus juice, and a good assortment of pupusas and Empanadas. The food comes out hot, and all the meats are cooked perfectly - usually if I order chicken breast in a restaurant I half expect it to be overcooked and dry..but to my delight my wife's chicken breast was cooked to juicy perfection! If you are new to Salvadoran food and would like a good sampling I recommend the "Pura Vida sampler platter", for my entree I ordered from the weekly specials the "El Cubason" since I'am a huge "Cubano- Cuban sandwich" fan, and my wife ordered "El Girasol". The flavors were amazing, and as I stated earlier the meat was cooked perfectly. Our 2 teenaged kids ordered an assortment of Papusas and Empanadas as well as rice, fries, and plantains sides - all were delicious! For desert we had Tres leches and the Empanaditas DeManza - both were incredible. Overall this is an excellent place, great food, bold flavors, reasonable prices, good portion sizes, and an extremely friendly family run business. My wife and I with our grandson ate at Latin Love Kitchen Restaurant and it was a 10. The food was delicious we had the Salvadoran breakfast with the bean, platanos and homemade corn tortillas, it was delicious. We also tried the Pupusas rejeultas( excuse my spelling) DELICIOUS. we sampled the tamale with vegetable, excellent. The atmosphere was nice and clean and the owner(Leroy) and the staff (Desi and Hilda) where very friendly. This is my new favorite spot that I will be coming to weekly. I had their tamales at a farmers market and they were probably the best I've ever had! They are wrapped in banana leaves instead of corn husks, which is authentic to several countries in Central America. Latin Love is a real gem! They are Salvadoran and their speciality on the menu is papusas but they have many other dishes including breakfast items you can get any time. They had 3 soups the day I was there. While there isn't a lot of ambiance in the space, the food makes up for it. It is not loud and it was easy to have a personal conversation. The restaurant is located in the middle of the block on Center street in a recessed storefront so it's hard to see. The owners have signs out so you know where they are and it's well worth it to have a meal there. There is plenty of parking within 2 blocks on the street or in nearby bank lot. The service was very attentive and menu items explained. The quantity of food was just right. We we didn't have much left over but weren't overly full either. The owner said that there are many dishes they prepare that are not on the menu and that the best place to see the daily changes is on their webpage. My husband, daughter, and I had lunch here yesterday and we really enjoyed ourselves. We had the meat, bean and cheese pupusa's in although it was a long wait for the food. It was definitely well worth it as everything was really fresh and very tasty... We even ordered a bunch more to bring home since we're about 40 minutes away.. I really wish we were closer so that we could frequent this place but it will just have to be an every once in a while experience for us... We are looking forward to coming back to try their meat and rice and fried yuca. Although it's a small restaurant, there's plenty of seating, and the staff is very friendly . Hope y'all enjoyed it as much as we did.
