My friend and I both ordered the ham and cheese breakfast omelet, which comes with two sides. We went with tostones and Cuban toast--both were delicious! I also tried the iced Cuban coffee, expecting something similar to a latte, but it was more like a milkshake. It was incredibly good, though very sweet, so keep that in mind if you're ordering one. The staff was amazing! The gentleman working there walked us through the menu (which had so many great options) and was super helpful and welcoming. The first thing I want to mention is that their new name is La Revancha. It is a corner store in a little strip mall. There is some outdoor seating but very limited inside and out. I've been here a few times and am actually surprised I haven't left a review yet! My friend always orders from here for her home gatherings so it was nice to go in for a meal. The cafe con leche is a generous cup and easy to drink. I ordered a half cuban sandwich and it was delicious. I've ALWAYS loved their sweet plantains and that hasn't changed. The quesitos were pretty good but I felt like the sugar glaze was missing and the dough to queso ratio was a bit off (just personal preference) but tasted fine. I ordered from here on Doordash because the pictures of the food looked so good! The new name of this place is La Revancha Cuban Cafe. I ordered the Mofongo with Pulled Pork. I liked the big pieces of chicharrón in the mofongo. The mofongo itself was okay. The pulled pork that came with it was just okay as well. It was a little dry and lacked flavor. The red beans were very salty, I could not eat them. I also got Ropa Vieja with Maduros and arroz con gandules. The ropa vieja had good flavor and the meat was tender. The maduros were good and sweet. The arroz con gandules just tasted like plain rice with gandules in it. I don't think I would order food again from here. Overall, not a bad experience with Los Autenticos! When I visited them, I came in with tunnel vision, only wanting a Cuban sandwich and an empanada. The Cuban Sandwich was tasty; they were generous with the pork and I liked the light toasting of the bread. I ordered the chicken empanada on a whim and it was full of flavor. This place is a gem! They used to be next to the Aldi on Aloma but they moved and changed their name to "La Revancha". As a Cuban, i will say this place gets their pastries and food right. The breakfast sandwich is really good, everything is fresh and made to order. Serving it with Cuban toast is the way to go and it's delicious. The Tostada is yummy, i always ask for extra butter and it's even better than Sedano's tostada. The bread is super fresh and isn't hard at all. The drinks are great and never fail. The Caramel Frappe is super good! The service, for the most part, is fine. The guy that takes the order is nice, although even tho i go there often, it seems like he never recognizes me. He doesn't have an attitude or anything but i feel like if someone comes often, maybe you should greet them with some type of familiarity. Soo my only other issue with this place is the prices... It's a bit too expensive for a Cuban place ($35 for stuff in photo). If you really wanted to, you could go to Sedanos and get this stuff half the price! It's a bit steep for me. Excellent variety and excellent service. We've been here several times and always leave with a smile. The whole menu is available at any given time (although rice may not be ready until closer to 10:30am if you're like me and eat lunch items for breakfast sometimes). Their orange juice is fresh squeezed. I also learned today that they can make their cafe con leche with decaf upon request. This establishment is set in a small plaza with a shared parking lot. There are a few tables outside and several booths inside. Everything here is good and the staff put their heart into their work and you can taste the love. Y'all listen up!! How this place has such great reviews is beyond my understanding! My fiancé ordered this for our lunch since we were in town for vaca and wanted some authentic Cuban food. We ordered several lunch plates which included Pulled Pork Lunch, Steak and Onions Lunch and the Ropa Vieja Lunch. Prior to any of us eating, my sister asked me to smell her fork. Weird request, but I obliged and only then did she inform me she had just stuck it in the beans. Her fork STRAIGHT UP smelled like a cigarette. Like someone had stood over the pot of beans and blew smoke and ashed all in them. It was disgusting! We ordered at noon and received our food only at 1:30pm. It took them forever to prepare the food for our Uber transport and not only did we receive cold, nasty food but we were also missing 2 potato balls. The pork and the steak was extremely dry. The only thing slightly warm was the Ropa Vieja. Very little was salvageable. Never again...nasty!! Save your money...a pack of marlboros are cheaper. read more

Croquettes and empeñadas are a weakness of mine. I got a craving for those and this place popped up as a good option. The food is affordable and portions are almost two meals for me which is great! (Yay leftovers! ) My sandwich was the croquettes one which was an interesting take on the Cuban sandwich. I appreciated the creativity of it but would have liked a little more flavor. The classic media noche sandwich was on point! We also ordered chicken empanadas which came out late. The filling was on the dry side but the flavor was good. The ham croquettes were good, haven't tried the pastelitos yet, carne frita was not what I thought in my head would be. I thought it was vaca frita just named differently. Either way my husband didn't like it. They were tiny cubed pieces of meat, my husband said it tasted like it was cooked in old oil which didn't surprise me because that how the plantain chips that came as my side tasted like. The media noche was ok. I probably wouldn't order it again. The only thing I really like was the iced Cuban coffee. It tasted nothing like Cuban coffee, more like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We've ordered catering for four different events, and the food has always been amazing. People consistently rave about how great it is. I ordered the half sandwich and a side combo with a passion fruit natural juice to drink. The total came out to $18.31 (not including tip) which I thought was a little much for one person to eat. They also don't have their prices on the menu so it was confusing especially since my friend got the same thing and paid a lesser price. The food was really good! Although for the price I've had better Cuban sandwiches at Zaza for a better deal. The passion fruit "natural" juice tasted overly sweet, like blended purée syrup so it was kind of hard to drink. Outside doesn't look like much since I've passed this place a few times. I'm a sucker for Cuban food and all of the food was absolutely perfect! The menu is extensive and I had a hard time decide in Ng what I wanted to eat. Opted for half pan con bistec combo with tostones. Husby ordered pan con lechón. My sandwich was fantastic. Flavor with every bite. The tostones were perfectly crispy but a tad too salty. I'd rather too salty to be able to wipe off excess. Pan con lechón was tasty, but I wasn't expecting the meat consistency to be more like a chicken salad. Not what I was expecting, but still tasty. Their sandwiches are my go to, but I have also enjoyed their plate options. My new favorite item these days, is not actually on the menu, but it works well! Opt for a bistec sandwich, but sub out the steak for their ropa vieja. The tenderness of the stew meat along with its juice works well with the bread and the crisp side of plaintain chips with it. But then again, you can't go wrong with any of their items, even their breakfast sandwiches ;) Next thing for me is exploring more of their fresh fruit juices! Due to all the turmoil in our world that is beyond our control aka COVID, travel restrictions, etc. I haven't been as active on my Yelp page. I believe we can all attest to the shifts of life that have caused barriers to our "normal" experiences. I'm back and am compelled to share an update that I meant to post back in October 2020 after reading the Owner, Robert C's response (photo below). Although I appreciate the time and effort he put into his lengthy response, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and commitment to making things better for all customers. In my opinion, he came across very defensive rather than accepting the feedback provided based on my personal dining experience. His response makes it very challenging to even consider returning for a rebound or recommending his restaurant to others in the Orlando area. Hope the opinion of other customers mean more than mine did. My last and final comment - the Owner Robert C. writes, "As a norm any negative experience someone had would by this part of the review be offered a return visit on us, however we don't want to offer it this time around..." I don't share my personal experiences to gain free meals. I share it with the hopes that my next visit will be as gratifying as other reviewers have shared. Anyone who spends time browsing through my Yelp reviews will easily see that I am a HUGE supporter of family owned, non-franchise and SUPERIOR customer friendly businesses!!!! Not even a simple "Welcome" at the door to anyone who entered. I didn't know how to order until a previous customer before me showed me how to use the kiosk. This is after I've been standing for almost 8 mins in front of the counter wondering what their ordering process involved. 4 other people were waiting for their orders and were becoming very impatient because there were no updates provided. I made a dine in order (rope meat, beans, rice and 2 empanadas) which came about 20 minutes after I placed it at the kiosk. Not too bad but when I glanced over, 1 of the 4 prior people ahead of me was still waiting. An elderly man walked up to the counter said "Hey where's my order?" It was sad. The guys gave him his order and unfortunately, he stood back up and said it wasn't complete so he had to wait another 10 minutes. Shortly after eating my food, I thought to myself, "decent time to put in another order" and boy was I wrong. I waited almost 50 minutes for my to go order of 2 Cuban sandwiches and 6 empanadas - a ridiculous wait time. The food is actually good but could be great; however, my your mood was tainted from the very disappointing first impressions which makes it hard to enjoy the food even if it's somewhat great. At this point, I was eating because I was simply hungry. Would I come back? Would definitely need to think about it, but I'd like to maybe give it a benefit of the doubt especially because I love supporting small businesses/mom and pop spots. Restaurant was clean so I'm grateful for that. They also had upbeat Latin music playing - somewhat loud but overall tolerable. What a find!!! This Cuban place is a hidden gem. It's in a little strip mall next to a Filipino grocery store with a nail salon and barber shop nearby. My husband ordered the tripleta, which came with delicious housemade plantain chips. I had the best mofongo I've ever had with ropa vieja. This mofongo is the stuff of dreams!!! It's filled with crunchy bits of pork and made to order so it's deliciously fresh and not at all greasy. I cannot wait to come back for more and hope you'll check it out.
