2 taco combo meal
Dani S.

Highly disappointed in tonight's dinner. Stopped at Los Betos for some Mexican food. When we got there we found out that it's drive thru only. It wasn't a big deal so we ordered to go. I ordered the two taco combo meal and my husband grabbed the two enchilada combo meal. Everything was going smoothly. Paid at the window. After hanging out for a bit while the food was being made the gentleman working the window told us they were out of rice. With rice being a main side for all your meals, how does one run out of rice? We were asked if we wanted any salsa. We said yes. Got our food and headed on our way. Arriving home I was getting our dinners situated. Opening my to go container, everything looked great but it was hard not to notice how much smaller the tacos they are serving now. They have shrunk dramatically. They were good but would have been better if the salsa that they were supposed to give me were in the bag. The tacos are very one noted since there was no salsa to pair with it. My husband's enchilada was ok. They were not really warm in the middle. The way everything was packaged, it looked like it was all slapped together really fast. I have really fond memories of Los Betos. Late night snacks. Food after going out. But tonight's dinner just didn't make the cut. With Mexican restaurants popping up all over town, you'd think you'd be on top of your A game. Unfortunately tonight really missed that mark from food, service and presentation.

Listen, if I'm paying $11 for a burrito I might want more than two little salsas. I think it's reasonable. Especially since I can always go inside and get it.

If you are used to Taco Shops in CA. This is it. Drive thru only. Open 24 hours. Consistently good.

Where you gonna go when it's 3:00 in the morning and you're bored and hungry and craving Mexican food? Or when you drank way too much the night before and need a greasy, fat meal to get over that hangover? Or really, any time you want cheap food?! Thank God for Betos, Boise's original 'round-the-clock drive thru. It's 10:30am on Tuesday and my dumbass didn't eat breakfast and my belly is screaming at me. Mexican food sounded so good but I didn't want anything fancy. So Los Betos it was! I ordered Combination Plate #14 - Chicken Chimichanga ($11.49). I didn't have to wait long at all before I was able to lose myself in the most delicious meal I thought I'd ever had (at the time). First thing I noticed was how damn hefty that box was. The freaking thing must have weighed about 5 pounds and I probably gained 10 after eating it. There was an extremely generous amount of rice, beans, lettuce and guac. All surrounding my beautiful bundle of heavenly deep fried deliciousness which was also stuffed to the max of yummy chicken and cheese sprinkled on top. I am so hungry just thinking about how delicious and amazing this meal was. Not to mention the value is unbeatable. This guy lasted me two fantastic meals and was the reason I survived that Tuesday. Perfect seasoning, excellent flavor, none of that day-old greasy aftertaste. It was all so f r e s h. I could go on but I think I've made my point. This is my new favorite Betos item. I've had it in the past but someone was done right with this particular chimichanga. Idk what it was but it's got me tempted to swing by tonight for more. 10/10 all the way!

Chorizo burrito, I pulled apart to add sour cream and guacamole.

I can only review for the breakfast burritos as I haven't tried anything else here. We got 3 breakfast burritos yesterday. Two chorizo and one sausage. They were HUGE and packed with great flavor. The drive thru was busy for a Sunday morning but the wait wasn't too ridiculous. If your craving a yummy breakfast burrito that isn't overly expensive, I recommend trying Los Betos.

Guys, we have a problem. Seriously. Betos, what the actual f***? This lazy, unbelievable performance masquerading as late-night cuisine made me so mad that I didn't even eat it - and I had just exercised for three hours, so I was ravenous and ready to nom. No. After three bites, I had to open up the burrito and witness the truth. From its entrails, I picked out every piece of dry meat and formed a pile: it was less than a spoonful. Sour cream in there, supposedly... do you see the evaporated white foam in the photo? Yeah. I don't even know HOW they did that... Guacamole was a thought but not reality. Somewhere in there was a wisp of green. That's it. This place will never have my business again. Even in a fugue state I could make a better burrito. My advice: do not waste your money.

Shredded beef tacos? I think not.

After several bad experiences at Los Betos recently, tonight was the last time we will be going back. We placed an order for 2 burritos ( 1 Idaho & 1 California) & 3 beef tacos. When my husband arrived home with our food I opened the box to find 3 ground beef tacos. They don't even have ground beef tacos on the menu. Also, they no longer fry the shells fresh to order, they appear to be premade. My husband went back to Los Betos to get the shredded beef tacos that we ordered and the guy at the window refused to replace them. My husband had the food and the receipt with him. The guy did not care. The employee made my husband pay a second time for the correct order! WTF?!?! Seriously? Los Betos really needs to undergo some changes. I'm over it.

I'm a regular at this location very recently, I normally visit the sister locations of this restaurant! I really do enjoy the food, but the service that I've received at this specific spot has not been very great. Everyone I've interacted with in the drive thru specifically these two ladies, are not kind and very short every single time I've visited. I really want to keep coming here, especially since the location is convenient, but will not continue to do so because it's such a negative experience. I can understand someone going thru a tough time and being busy with costumers but to be consistent in how they show up, and be rude to that amount is really sad. I just wish they would be more kind.. will definitely continue to visit the sister stores for sure tho they have been respectful and a lovely interaction!

Holy cow. I love Los Betos as much as the next guy but I've never had a worse breakfast burrito than I had today at this location. Blows my mind that something so good could be so bad. Mushy salty potatoes, almost no egg, loads of unmelted shredded cheese, just inedible. I've never thrown out food unless I thought maybe it was spoiled, but I just couldn't eat it. I'll still go to Betos, just not this one.

It's very inviting, if not decadent feeling. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were lacking. My mocktail was recommended by our server, but it was much too sweet, and had a weird aftertaste. We ordered chips, guac, and it came with two versions of salsa. One was incredibly bitter (tasted very vinegar-y), while the other just tasted strange. Neither me or my husband like it. The guac, however, was very good. We ordered the Seafood Ceviche, which is a dish we usually love, but not so much here! It was covered in an orange sauce that was overly acidic. It was so much and so acidic, we couldn't taste the seafood. It was lost in the sauce. It seems as though whoever's in the kitchen lacks some culinary intuition. The staff were good. It'a dimly lit, even during the day, for those with sight issues.

With my new kidney, I had to get my own sides since I can't really share food with my friends. I got some chicken tortilla soup and some brussel sprouts. It could have been a tad warmer but it was still delicious. My brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I love the sweet and savory glaze that we used! Every bite was delicious. Service was great tonight. Our server did a great job making sure our drinks were never dry. The atmosphere here is always on point. The food was fantastic as always. Such weird and potentially homophobic behavior from the waitstaff here last night. (My best friend i was with and her fiance are lesbians so i am not sure whether or not the staff's behavior had to do with that or if they are just normally this rude) Walked in with a group of friends for one of their birthdays just trying to find a place for a nice dinner. According to the waitlist we were supposed to be seated fairly quickly (within 10 minutes we were told) but we ended up waiting for about a total of 30 minutes. We waited patiently outside for about 20 and then decided to step inside to see what was going on. Waitstaff had about 4 tables that they were dealing with but there was honestly probably more servers than active tables in the restaurant, there was a NUMBER of open tables while we stood at the front confused since we were the ONLY people waiting. Not a glance from any of the servers, not a "have you been helped yet?" nothing. We continued to stand there as 3 servers bussed ONE table together which was just so completely bizarre and they clearly were trying to avoid acknowledging our presence. As a server herself, one of my friends was just completely confused as to how multiple servers came up to where we were standing to use the POS system and then walk off without saying a word to us. When my friend inquired with the waitstaff about why we hadn't been seated yet, she rudely said "YOURE ON THE WAITLIST SO YOU NEED TO WAIT". We went to the funky taco next door, who had us greeted & seated immediately. The Matador will never have our business and we certainly wont be recommending them to anyone, ever. FYI Matador, this seems like an ongoing issue for you with your hosts and servers being miserable people after looking at your one star reviews so you might want to do the same and do something about it before you continue losing out on business.

The whole venue looks like a fiesta so you know you're about to have a great time! We got sat. A sweet gal dropped off a couple waters, chips and salsa. Nothing like starting your afternoon with chips and salsa! Adri came shortly after and grabbed drink orders. I got a virgin mango margarita today. She asked if I wanted the rim salted or tajined. I totally would have but I have to watch my salt intake. Without the salt and tajin, that mango margarita was money! It was so good! It was perfectly blended! It had a good amount of mango to it. It was absolutely delicious! For lunch I got a shredded beef taco and shredded beef enchilada for lunch. It also came out with a side of rice and beans. The plate looked fabulous! I appreciate the peas and carrots in the rice! It added another texture to it. The rice and beans were nice and hot! Super tasty! The beef in my enchilada was tenders and flavorful. The sauce was rich in color and flavor. I like that there was a slight heat to everything. It wasn't overwhelming. I didn't get a chance to eat much of the taco. I did take a bite and it was good! I do wish that the tortilla didn't get all soggy. One side of the taco was great but the other was drenched in fluid. I also did find hard pieces of rice in the side of rice i got. Kind like it's been sitting too long and it dried out. It wasn't the best the chew. I'm happy I got to try this joint out today! Adri was fantastic and did a great job taking care of us! My margarita was top notch! The food was good and the venue was so much fun. Looking forward to coming back and trying other goodies of their menu with another bomb ass margarita!

I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders.
