So many great taco options! Definitely get the fried chicken taco!! Plus a few others to try a variety. Quac was decent but the chips were a little hard. Great vibe!

Tin roof was amazing! The staff was very friendly and they got my order out (two fried fish tacos) before I could even fill up my drink. The food itself tasted delicious, my only complaint would be that the portion of fish provided was quite small, making it a little more imbalanced than I'd prefer. Still grest however.

We were by the hospital downtown today. Hungry but didn't want anything crazy big so we decided on Tin Roof Tacos for dinner. Walking in, this joint was poppin!! So many people out on this beautiful Friday. It was nice to see so many people out and about. We checked out their menu board and ordered our goodies. We found a spot at one of the communal tables and hung out till our food was ready. The tacos were in their own individual container which was nice. Everything looked delicious on the tray. I grabbed a few different tacos to try. Shrimp, beef fajita and fried chicken tacos were on tonight's menu. The shrimp taco was good. I wish that the shrimp was fresh fried. I can tell it had been previously fried cause it was cold and the batter was really hard. Adding lime and salsa helped a bit but the batter on it was so hard. The beef fajita taco was my favorite. The beef was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed the sweet grilled onions of top of it. Adding the salsa made it that much more tasty! The fried chicken taco was pretty similar to the shrimp taco. The chicken was previously fried so it was not warm and hard. It had a cream sauce to it which helped the extra crunchy chicken. It was good but I'm sure it would have been that much more fabulous if the chicken was fried fresh. I was still hungry after the 3 tacos so I decided to grab a corn taco. That's probably one I would not reorder again. The corn was dry and then paired with 2 tortillas, it was was like eating cardboard. It was nice to come in and eat with everyone. The beef fajita was legit and I would go back for that taco. I really wish I would have enjoyed the other 3 tacos as much as I did the fajita. I do look forward to coming back and trying other options off their menu.

I am forever on the search for a great fish taco, so I landed at Tin Roof Tacos. The line was long, yet moved very quickly. Ordered the fish taco, fried chicken taco and chips with queso. My daughter and her friend also ordered the chicken fajita, beef fajita and shrimp taco. Would have loved a combo option, but all tacos, sides and drinks are separately ordered. This place is bustling! Luckily, chips and queso is served upon ordering. Tables are shared with other guests and the patio outside was packed, so we had to side inside and share. Tables and chairs weren't wiped down (nor were they during our entire visit despite several table turnovers), so we had to clean up our eating space. Food came out relatively quickly, those cooks were hustling! The chips and queso were exceptional and for $5, it's a bargain. The queso was spicy, but in a sexy way, and those chips were perfectly salted, which complimented the queso. I could not get enough! The fish taco (4.5/5 stars) was tender, slathered with cilantro and crema was delicious...just wish there was a tad more crema. Fried chicken taco (2.5/5 stars) was a tummy filler, but the chicken was desperately dry. The best part was the jalapeño ranch, by far. The girls loved their tacos and gobbled them up, though I didn't get any details. I would love to go back to try more tacos!

A great spot with great prices! This is a staple for the college students in the area, and one can understand why with the insane value. $33.39 for 9 tacos and 2 drinks before tip and it fed 4 people easily. Just a little nitpick from me here, but the restaurant looked fairly dirty in the eating areas. Floors needed a good mopping, and there was a lot of debris covering the floor. Roasted corn taco 4/5 Fish taco (both fried and grilled) 5/5 Fried chicken taco 6/5 (One of the best items we had in Boise) Brisket taco 4/5 (brisket was dry, but we forgot to put sauce on so that probably makes it much better) Shrimp taco 5/5

Wow!!! The tin roof taco is AMAZING! Loved the crispy chicken taco, sauces are incredible, toppings are thoughtfully made. Chips and salsa are perfect. This place made me wish we lived in Boise so we could go all the time! The service was so fast I felt like we barely walked from the register and then our name was called. Come here!

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

I'm a bit of a beer enthusiast, so I'm biased when it comes to the drink menu, but I really appreciated that they have unique beers on tap you don't find everywhere. It's a refreshing change from the same old Boston Lager and domestic beers that seem to be on tap at every other restaurant. If I had one criticism, it would be to please clean the air vent above the TV at the bar. The dust buildup is pretty thick and looks like it's about to fall onto the bartop. That said, everything else we saw was clean and well kept, so this seemed like an isolated maintenance issue rather than a cleanliness problem. We'll definitely be back!

After 2 more meals, I'm pulling back the rest of the menu to 3 stars. Meal of a beef tomal and azada enchalada with beans and rice. The beef tomal was pretty flavorless. The azada in the enchilada was the same used in the street taco, so it was really good. But then generic enchalada sauce, basic refried beans, and rice that was so dry there were crunchies - but not like the good, flavorful, caramelized paella crunchy. Asked the manager if they made the tomals because it was a way different beef flavor, and she insisted "yes." She was very disengaged, but at least I saw someone in the dining room cleaning the tables. Second meal was a pork tomal and lingua enchilada with beans and rice. Pork was better than the beef. There were a couple bites of the lingua that seemed... a little off, like it was old. Same beans, but at least the rice this time wasn't as dehydrated. The person attending the counter seemed to have an attitude and didn't feel like he wanted to be there. Never saw any of the tables wiped off in my 45 minutes there for lunch. So, street tacos - fantastic. Everything else so far, basic Mexican fare.
