Very cute and clean. Service was friendly and attentive. Warm chips and salad with beans, no extra charge. Shrimp and scallops in cream sauce with corn tortillas was amazing and good sized portions. Overall 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I was thrilled to find out my friend wanted to come here for her birthday dinner. My first experience here was fantastic and I was looking forward to another awesome dining experience here. We were sat at a round table which was nice. Round tables are great for small groups like ours, it allowed us to all be involved with each other which was nice. Our server was fabulous. She took our orders and had drinks, chips and dips ready for us! The chips are so good! I love the bean dip that they serve. The salsa is fresh and I love the little kick it has to it! You try not to over indulge in the chips and dip but it's so hard! Tonight I ordered the shrimp fajitas with an extra side of fajita veggies. The veggies were honestly my favorite part of the fajitas the last time I got them. My fajitas came out hot! The shrimp were plump and juicy! It was a generous portion. Unfortunately, I wish I was told that the veggies were differnt from the steak and chicken option. The veggies were great but it was too much celery and mushrooms for me. I was told next time that I can just have the traditional veggies that come with it. Other than that, the flavor was great! The combination of the soft flour tortilla, sour cream, guacamole and the shrimp was such a magical bite! Our server was kind and brought the birthday girl a fried ice cream which was so nice! No issues with billing. Overall it was a fantastic dinner and I can't wait to come back and try other items on their menu.

Now it's pretty simple to make a decision on getting Mexican food in the Boise area. Barrigas all the way. I'd been considering trying it out for some time, but kept deferring to old standbys. I'm happy I gave them a go. Because my family is now there on the regular. The renovated space used to house a Chapalas back in the day. Now it's got dark wood booths painted with images of agave. Wagon wheel light fixtures complete the rustic feel. I dig it. But the food! I'm always on the lookout for restaurants that are able to maintain great food in decent quantities for a reasonable price. Like eveBarrigas delivers. My go-to at lunch is the enchilada and tostada combo. The cheese blend they use for the enchilada is sublime and you can choose your meat for both of the dishes. I go with the excellent carnitas on my tostada topped with pico, pickled cabbage and corn amongst other nice fixings. All for less than a $20 and I'm super happy. Service is snappy and polite. It's the kind of place If you show up enough, they just bring out your usual drink order. Nice. My kid doesn't ask for any other Mexican food but Barrigas. Toddler approved and I completely agree.

The staff is super friendly here. Food came out hot and fast on a Tuesday night. Overall I feel the food is just ok here. Nothing bad, nothing great. Like many, many other places in Boise, why does Barrigas to have several TVs in the dining room, along with loud music? Very distracting. People need to just come and relax. I know, I know... I'm just being a grumpy curmudgeon. Seriously totally not needed... just focus on making good food. Prices a bit higher than comparable Mexican restaurants in Boise. Portion size was pretty big with lunch leftovers for tomorrow.

Huachinango, red snapper served with a fire-roasted sauce, is an outstanding dish.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Boise, second only to Amano in Caldwell, among those in the Treasure Valley. We like that both restaurants go beyond the typical American-Mexican fare from nearly every other Mexican restaurant in the Valley. My go-to dish is Barrigas's Huachinango, grilled red snapper covered with a fire-roasted sauce and served with vegetables, rice and seasoned corn. Kristy likes the Los Bandidos, grilled scallops and shrimp covered in a creamy sauce. Service is always friendly and even when the restaurant is packed, dishes come out promptly from the kitchen.

Great find in Garden City! Pass by this place all the time but never have stopped. Was impressed by the inside, cleanliness and food were great! A definite must when looking for a great Mexican experience.

Food was mediocre. Smelled like raid. Bugs at the table. Out of items that they charged us for. $100 for 3 meals, 2 drinks.

I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

After 2 more meals, I'm pulling back the rest of the menu to 3 stars. Meal of a beef tomal and azada enchalada with beans and rice. The beef tomal was pretty flavorless. The azada in the enchilada was the same used in the street taco, so it was really good. But then generic enchalada sauce, basic refried beans, and rice that was so dry there were crunchies - but not like the good, flavorful, caramelized paella crunchy. Asked the manager if they made the tomals because it was a way different beef flavor, and she insisted "yes." She was very disengaged, but at least I saw someone in the dining room cleaning the tables. Second meal was a pork tomal and lingua enchilada with beans and rice. Pork was better than the beef. There were a couple bites of the lingua that seemed... a little off, like it was old. Same beans, but at least the rice this time wasn't as dehydrated. The person attending the counter seemed to have an attitude and didn't feel like he wanted to be there. Never saw any of the tables wiped off in my 45 minutes there for lunch. So, street tacos - fantastic. Everything else so far, basic Mexican fare.
