I don't know if this was just a coincidence, but when we arrived at the Brandon location the AC was out & we could only have bottled water making this experience feel like we were truly in Mexico! Other drink options were available. My partner had the Tacos de Birria (Specialty Menu Item) which was stupid delicious, the au jus / consommé was drinkable and the beef was delicious. I had the Al Pastor Burrito and it was a two meal serving size. Enjoyed every bite, highly recommend! We also ordered the Trio Chip Appetizer, we ate everything! This is a walk up and order place, they bring your food to the table. We did have an individual check on us and apologize for the AC outage. It was such a pleasant experience even with no AC, they had a huge fan going to help. The location has about 10/15 tables, cute and perfect for a quick bite if you don't have a lot of time. The food was epic and definitely worth your time. Prices are reasonable, but you could easily get crazy if you wanted!! read more

I was very excited to see that Los Chapos opened a location in Brandon. They've been my go to taco spot in Ybor since a friend introduced me to them over a year ago. There were a couple minor issues with my dinner order. The food was not quite as hot as I would've liked. I ordered it at 6:20 PM for a 7:00 PM pickup. They were not busy when I arrived so I figured they just made it early. The pork in the Al Pastor was slightly dry but again it probably just sat out a little longer than it should've. Overall everything was up to par with the tacos I've had at the Ybor location. The Birrias are a must have! I'm also a huge fan of the Gobernador, and Chicharron tacos. The service was great. The young man and woman at the front counter were attentive and pleasant to deal with. I didn't dine in but the ambiance seemed nice. The location is east to find, and they had the door propped open which is very welcoming. The location is smaller than Ybor so there obviously not as much seating, but they didn't try to cram too many seats in either so the tables that were there had plenty of space. I will always recommend eating in when possible so the food is as fresh as possible, but either way Los Chapos is a 5 establishment, and they're easily the best tacos in Brandon. I've been a customer for almost 2 years and I would go every day if I could. The Brandon location is new but is just as good as Ybor. Everyone is so kind, food is ready so fast, and quality is amazing!!! Always greeted with a smile and treated like family. I love coming here not only for the food and service but also for the atmosphere. There are no other taco shops in Tampa or surrounding areas like this. We decided to try out Los Chapos takeout after reading some great reviews! The food was delicious and fairly priced. The quesadilla with chicken was quite large (we love big portions)! It came with a tube of sour cream and a whole jalapeño. We also had the nachos, which comes with steak. They were delicious and included a lot of meat along with other toppings (i.e., guacamole, sour cream, cheese). We also tried some of their famous street tacos (chicken tinga, pastor, shrimp, and mushroom). I also appreciated that each takeout container was labeled with the type of food inside. Finally finished the trifecta by trying all 3 locations of Los Chapos! This location had a similar interior like Ybor-cute palm wallpaper and neon signs. The dining room was a good size with maybe 10+ various sized tables and a couple smaller outdoor seats. You order at the counter and the employee was very pleasant and friendly. Get the watermelon agua Fresca! Tasted like you were eating a nice ripe watermelon. The food came out as it was ready from the kitchen. The guacamole was fresh and delicious! The queso was the perfect temperature and topped with chorizo. The chips were made in house too. The esquites were cheesy and also served with chips. We tried a variety of tacos from steak, carnitas, Al pastor and birria. My personal favorites were the birria and carnitas street taco. Everything was flavorful and the employee checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was to our liking. None of their locations disappoint and I am once again a satisfied (and full) customer. read more

Tacos did taste good, but they are small. My husband and I prefer chicken taco loco right down 60 - tacos are loaded with more meat and more flavor. This was our first time here and we talked to the guy taking our order about the Birria tacos, but decided we would try them next time. When they brought out our togo order, we were surprised when there was an order for those tacos in there and thought they were being nice as our first time and when my husband thanked the girl for them she took them away lol without saying anything. Apparently they put someone else's order in ours and we thought they were just being really nice, but nope haha. All in all, we won't return. Chicken taco loco is better and closer to our house so we will stick with them. read more

This place was great! This was the first time trying Los Chapos Tacos and they didn't disappoint. We tried the birria tacos, quesadilla, nachos, chips and queso, Adobo pork taco, and burrito. The chips are great and taste homemade, the nachos are also very good, but the stars were the Gobernador taco, birria tacos, and burrito. The Gobernador had shrimp and was delicious. The birria tacos and the "au jus" for dipping was amazing! The burrito is delicious as well. One of the best we've ever tried and the best value. For under $11, you can get all types of filling and the burrito felt like it weighed about 3 or 4 pounds. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I did not know what to expect, but the food and service is exceptional. I got a burrito bowl which was delicious and well presented. Jessica and Endiah were the sweetest souls and super attentive throughout our meal. Kind and hard-working servers are a rare commodity and I so appreciate how joyfully they attended to us. Once I found out I had a Mexican/tex-mex joint at walking distances I got way to excited! I had their Birria tacos with consume, and it was absolutely delicious. Only downside was that their Horchata doesn't taste good compared to others I have tried. I regret getting it. But Birrias are on point!!! Can't wait to go back and try other foods they have to offer. read more
