Alright chat. I can't lie. When it comes to Mexican food, I like it but I'm its biggest hater. The potential for a meal to be mid is so high. But then again, if it's good it's GOOD. So that's the risk, that's the gamble, and we took it. Bahia tacos was very good!!! Started with the steak fries and yuca fires. Steak fries did their thing. Split it into two, plenty to share, lowkey could have been a whole meal. Yuca fries were alright but then again not bad so let's not get it twisted. I ordered the Birria tacos as my main and I was not sad at all! The thought was this or a Cali burrito with queso on top but the glutton in me said that was too much. Those three lil tacos came out and I couldn't be more happier. Stacked on the insides and super filling. The consume was unreal and packed with flavor. Couldn't be more happier with my choice. First and foremost, Bridget was amazing! She was so friendly and attentive that it made us glad we dined in. When ordering, she even made recommendations for drinks and sauces to complement our order, which was super helpful as first timers. We had the birria fries for the table and I was shocked at how much meat was included. It was a heaping bowl of beef on top of my favorite type of fries -- the kind that's dredged and has that crispy exterior. So so good! My bf and I enjoyed the tacos. The tortillas were clearly made in house and the tacos were stuffed with protein! I had the barbacoa, carne asada, al pastor, and fried grouper. All were very good! I was especially pleasantly surprised at how well cooked the grouper was. The pineapple agua fresca was also tasty, refreshing, and complemented my al pastor perfectly! The music was good (mostly 90s rnb/hip hop, which is right up my alley), and the decor was so interesting to look at, I almost felt like I was in a miniature museum rooted in Mexican culture. The front desk recommended this place at the Quality Inn, and it is just a three-minute walk from the hotel. We stopped by for a late dinner, and the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, they had run out of horchata. The young lady serving us provided outstanding customer service. She was attentive, polite, and quick to address any issues. When some of our food arrived cold, she immediately addressed it. She listened carefully to our feedback after asking how everything was. We noted that the chips' salsa and the salsa verde lacked flavor, and that the skirt steak was cold, salty, chewy, and slightly sour. In all my years living in Tampa I'm so sad it took me so long to finally visit this place. I went on Cinco de mayo and I'm so glad I did the place was busy but I still managed to get my food in a reasonable time and they didn't cut on the quality because they were busy it was delicious. I got the barria tacos which were delicious the consume was my favorite part. I have no notes on that. It was perfect! I did get one of the empanadas I wish it had more filling but the flavor was really good and of course I dipped that in the consume and it took it to the next level! The staff was very kind and helpful with helping me decide. The inside was very clean and easy to navigate it was pretty straight forward. I can see myself becoming a regular here. read more

Came by here last week and it really satisfied that craving I've been having for some delicious unique Mexican food. The decor, first of all, is absolutely gorgeous. A crew member told me that everything was hand painted or hand designed by one of the owners and I wish I could have these beautiful trinkets in my home. The decor was bright and really displayed that unique Colombian and Mexican flavors on their menu. To start one of the crewmembers recommended I get the pico appetizers with chips. It was perfectly seasoned and so fresh !! I wanted something a little more on the Colombian side so I got an arepa with Barbacoa and it was delicious! They packed the meat on there and piled on the toppings. The cheese was perfectly melted. I also got one of their pineapple juices which was refreshing. read more

It is a small space in a strip mall next to iHOP. Parking is super minimal in front, but there is additional parking in the back. Somewhere. The Taco Tuesday special was ok, I had the burrito and it was alright, nothing great. The server was nice, he also gave us some sauces to taste and I liked the verde the best. I did use a good bit of that with my burrito and someone else ordered the plantains with their shrimp tacos. (The shrimp was not a protein on the Taco Tuesday special options.) The plantains looked burnt. They actually weren't but they didn't taste very good either, so they sat. Overall, there wasn't much to write home about, I wouldn't return. read more

We've also loved Bahia, our favorite Mexican spot in tampa! But this weekend they went above and beyond for me, and I just have to share! I had hired a tack truck for a party, they canceled day of, to save the day Nicholas the owner was able to whip up treys of rice and beans, many quesadillas and tacos catering style for like 20 people within just a few hours! Great taco place. We came here for late lunch because we were in the area for some chores. Around 3 pm on Saturday it was empty. Staff were very nice, we sat down and ordered 3 dip sampler and each of us got three tacos. Ambiance is very simple and cozy, it's not a fancy place, just clean and pleasant. We enjoyed food very much, they have a large selection of food and also have vegetarian options. Definitely a great taco place. read more

EAT HERE! I came in on a Tuesday for lunch - the owner was manning the counter, cooking and serving. Incredibly delicious food. They have a GREAT deal for Taco Tuesday! I tried the pork, chicken, and ground beef - my favorite was the pork! I also got a side of fried yuca and a side of sweet plantains. Get it all. Eat the whole menu. The owner is so kind and humble and talented in the kitchen! Everything was delicious and fresh and mouthwatering. I ordered a LOT of food and I ate every bite. Don't sleep on this spot! 4 stars for a solid meal and a super cute dining area! It's a small space but they decorated it so cute with bright colors of pink and yellow and unique art. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the burrito with al pastor, $11.50 but you're able to choose whatever meat in your order. It was plenty split and all the ingredients felt fresh and not greasy like other Mexican restaurants. To start we ordered the chips and salsa,$3 and the basket was generous with non greasy chips too. The churros, $3.50 are a definite MUST, with caramel filling that are made fresh to order and topped with cinnamon sugar and condensed milk. We left feeling satisfied and enjoyed our first visit! I am a frequent customer at this location and recently I discovered that they have empanadas on their menu as well and so I decided to try the birria empanada for my lunch break and they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend that you try these empanadas and plus they're only four dollars each so you can get a cheap lunch for eight dollars and be satisfied. read more

A friend of mine brought me here for my birthday, she said I had to try it, and since tacos are one of my favorite foods I was looking toward to it. I had the three taco combo...one each of the Carnitas, Al Pastor, and Barbacoa, and we shared an order of the Birria fries. I also got an order of three empanadas to go for my son. Stumbled upon this gem and Wowow, it did not disappoint. First off it's decorated like a California Barbie Beachy Taco Shack. Pink walls, blue neon signs, very artsy! The pulled barbocoa taco was divine!!! I could have 100 of them. I also had the beef/rice embanada & the chicken/cheese empanada. The chicken & cheese empanada was better in my opinion. When I come back I have my eyes set on the pulled barbacoa burrito & arepas! Fair warning on the parking, there are minimal spaces in the lot! But that won't deter me from coming back. What a great little find! We are staying in a nearby hotel and this place was recommended by the staff. I spend a good amount of time on the west coast of Mexico, eating a lot of tacos and these stand up! I had tacos Al Pastor. They were tasty and juicy. The sauce was just the right heat. Tacos and quesadillas were a hit! I looked up the closest taco shop I could find on YELP and I'm so happy that this place popped up as local. Placed a to go order and it would be ready in 15 minutes showed up it had a couple more minutes so I purchased a horchata while I waited it was so good . Once everything was packaged I was on my way. The store provide the complimentary brownie cake with coconut flakes. Love it. It good promotion to get the restaurant going. We three taco combo. The taco is divided to classic and specialty. Any in the specialty taco add $0.50 each taco. We got the campechano, grilled grouper, and grilled shrimp tacos. I paid extra dollars for the specialty taco. Which worth it. The combo plate come with chip, salsa, and a drink. Not bad at all. My wife got the steak quesadilla. The steak is well grilled. I would recommend the campechano and grilled shrimp tacos. This little hidden gem was an amazing find!!! Soooo good. The seasonings and flavors are delicious. They have a birria empanada....ZOMG! Cheesy and tummy with the birria juices. Yummy Colombian-styled taco place. When I heard that this place served Colombian styled tacos, I was intrigued. I'm not entirely sure how they differ from Mexican tacos, although I noticed more cumin in the seasoning and the option of red beans instead of black. I had the campechanos rice bowl (sorry, I cannot actually comment on their tacos!). It was excellent. The steak and chorizo were flavorful and generously served. I had the choice of red or black beans. The owner told me both are excellend and made in-house, but that day, he recommended the red beans. They were so good, clearly freshly made. The rice was yellow. There was a generous amount of cilantro-y pico de gallo which really brightened things up. And then a dollop of guacamole, sprinkle of cheese, and drizzle of sour cream. It was perfection. Usually, I need to add hot sauce to my food (partially because I like things spicy and partially to add seasoning). The hot sauce provided was certainly very spicy, but I found that the food in its served state did not require extra seasoning. Service was super friendly. The place looks clean and open (although I got my food to go). Portions were very generous. I had enough for lunch and then a snack later that day from my one order. I will happily return. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Bahia Tacos a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved everything that I got from the menu :) The concept is super cute, and overall it's a really nice environment to go for lunch or dinner and take the family. I got a few items - the taco bow, a couple tacos (carnitas & grilled chicken), and churros! The carnitas bowl was huge and it was so delicious! And the tacos were fresh and authentic ! You can add more to the tacos if you want .. but i like them just as they come. The churros were my favorite!
